Chapter 52 Su Ning Gets Beaten

Su Ning went home and went to sleep, but because she had something on her mind, she slept restlessly.

He Ci returned in the early hours of the morning. He smelled himself and found that he still smelled of smoke and alcohol, but not strongly.

He missed her terribly after not seeing her for a day, and he wanted to come back early to be with Su Ning since tomorrow was Christmas.

He Ci sat by the bed for a while before returning to his own room. Su Ning opened her eyes the moment the door closed.

Her expression was obscured in the darkness, but tears streamed down Su Ning's face. She didn't want to cry; she was just upset about what had happened during the day.

The next day, when Su Ning woke up, He Ci was nowhere to be found.

In short, He Ci has been very busy lately, so busy that it's difficult for Su Ning to even see him.

As usual, Su Ning arrived at the flower shop early to open it, and it was obvious to everyone that she had something on her mind.

Everything was normal in the morning, but in the afternoon the three girls came to the flower shop together.

Su Ning noticed that the three women looked a little pale. "Ladies," she said, "we're running a business, and what you're doing is affecting other people."

"Smack."

A crisp slap landed on Su Ning's fair face, instantly causing it to swell and turn red.

Xiaoyu and the other employees quickly ran over, saying, "Don't go too far. Since it was opened by your fiancé, go ask your fiancé for the money."

Xiao Jiang chimed in, "You guys are really funny. You come to the flower shop and claim it's owned by your fiancés, and you want to be the mistress of the place. It's disgusting."

"This flower shop was clearly a gift from the owner to Ning'er, who wanted to open it with your fiancé."

Xiao Jiang's words only stirred up a hornet's nest, and the three of them looked at Su Ning with anger in their eyes.

"You shameless woman, how dare you seduce He Ci."

Qin Lu also wanted to hit Su Ning, but Bai Weiwei, who had rushed over, grabbed her.

"So it's you three stinking women. With me here, you dare to hit one of you?"

Qin Lu broke free of Bai Weiwei's grip on her wrist and glared angrily at Bai Weiwei.

"Hey Bai, mind your own business. We're going to beat this mistress to death."

Bai Weiwei laughed sarcastically, "Who are you calling a mistress! Did you marry He Ci, or are you engaged to him?"

Luna knew that Bai Weiwei was sharp-tongued; even the three of them combined couldn't out-argue her.

"Our engagement is inevitable! His parents both agree."

Bai Weiwei immediately pushed the three of them, saying, "Then hurry up and get out of here. Come back for this flower shop when you've become Mrs. He."

After chasing the people away, Bai Weiwei ran towards Su Ning, feeling a pang of heartache at the sight of her swollen cheeks.

"Ning'er, does it hurt? I'm going to tell He Ci to get revenge for you."

Bai Weiwei wanted to call He Ci, but Su Ning stopped her.

"Weiwei, no, Brother Ci is very busy right now and I don't want to bother him."

Bai Weiwei was exasperated. "Ning'er, you've already been beaten. Don't you want to get revenge?"

Su Ning shook her head. "Never mind, I don't want to cause trouble for Brother Ci."

Bai Weiwei was displeased. "What do you mean you don't want to cause him trouble? I think you're just a coward. You're afraid of hearing the truth from He Ci."

Su Ning had to admit that Bai Weiwei understood her best. Coming from a rural background, she was not a good match for He Ci and could not compare to the other three girls.

"Weiwei, could you please not tell him what happened today? I'm fine, so let's not cause him any trouble."

Bai Weiwei reached out and touched Su Ning's slightly swollen face. Luckily, she arrived in time, otherwise, who knows how those gossipy women would have bullied Su Ning!
