A few days later, with only a few days left until the Lunar New Year, some people began to return home for the holiday.
Su Ning looked at the people in the flower shop. Xiao Jiang and Xiao Yu were locals and didn't need to go home, while the other three had already taken leave to go back to their hometown.
Su Ning counted the days, wondering if she should go back. This was the first time she had been away from home for so long. If she hadn't met He Ci, she probably would never have had the chance to go back in her life.
The atmosphere outside is already festive for the Chinese New Year, with fireworks occasionally bursting in the sky.
There weren't many people in the store at the moment, so Xiao Jiang and Xiao Yu came over to chat with Su Ning.
Xiao Jiang looked at Su Ning and asked, "Ning'er, everyone has gone home for the New Year, are you going back?"
Su Ning smiled gently, "Yes! Chinese New Year is a time for family reunion, and my parents must miss me very much."
Xiaoyu casually asked, "Is He Ci going back with you? Will he see you off?"
Su Ning didn't know either, "Ci-ge must be very busy, and my family doesn't know about me and Ci-ge yet."
When Su Ning returned home, He Ci had not yet come back. The closer it got to the end of the year, the busier He Ci became, so Su Ning obediently did not cause him any trouble.
Thinking about going home, she still wanted to talk to He Ci. The wall clock struck eleven o'clock, and He Ci opened the door and came in at that time.
He Ci was surprised to see that Su Ning was still awake. He walked to the sofa and hugged her.
"You're still up so late. Didn't I tell you not to wait for me anymore?"
Su Ning looked up at He Ci and reached out to touch his cheek.
"Have you been very busy lately? You've even lost weight!"
He Ci held her small hand; it was so soft and smooth, he wanted to kiss it, and so he did.
"I've neglected you lately. I'm always so busy around this time of year. I'll have time to spend with you after the New Year."
Su Ning never interfered with He Ci's work or what he had to do. Everyone has their own space, and Su Ning didn't want He Ci to feel pressured.
"Brother Ci! The New Year is almost here, and I want to go home. My parents must be looking forward to my return after being away for so long."
He Ci was reluctant to part with Su Ning, so he held her tightly in his arms.
Will you come back?
He Ci didn't even realize that his voice trembled slightly as he spoke, because he was terrified that Su Ning would leave and never come back.
In fact, he had already bought tickets for Su Ning, but he didn't dare to give them to her. He Ci was afraid that once Su Ning left, he would never see her again.
Su Ning left He Ci's embrace, a smile in her eyes.
“Ci-ge is still here, how could I bear not to come back, unless you don’t want me anymore.”
He Ci's tense heart finally relaxed, and he held Su Ning's small face and smiled happily.
"Really? You're not kidding me?"
Su Ning leaned closer to He Ci and gently kissed his lips.
"Ci-ge is the best person to me besides my family. I will let my parents know that you exist when I go home this time."
Upon hearing Su Ning's words, He Ci quickly captured Su Ning's pink lips, kissing her somewhat flusteredly and hastily.
Su Ning felt like her lips were being bitten raw, and He Ci reluctantly withdrew just when she was about to suffocate.
"My darling! Don't break your promise, or I'll find you even if I have to cross oceans."
After He Ci finished speaking, he took out a stack of tickets from his pocket. Su Ning took a closer look and saw that they were all ship tickets back to the mainland.
He Ci rummaged through the contents for a while, threw the expired ones into the trash can, and there were five left.
Su Ning stared at the tickets in the trash can with a puzzled look. The dates on them were from five days ago, and there was also a ticket from yesterday.
He Ci handed the tickets to Su Ning, "Which day do you want to leave? I'll have someone see you off."
“Brother Ci, you…”
He Ci was too embarrassed to explain! He couldn't very well tell Xiao Guai that he had actually bought tickets for half a month.
Su Ning didn't ask any further questions, and considering He Ci's question earlier, she could guess the answer to some extent.
Ci-ge was afraid he wouldn't come back, so he didn't give her the ticket. Su Ning smiled as she looked at the ticket in her hand.
"How about we leave the day after tomorrow? We haven't finished handing things over at the shop yet, so we can take care of things with Xiao Jiang and Xiao Yu tomorrow."
Su Ning took out the tickets for the day after tomorrow and stuffed the rest into He Ci's hand, saying, "Have someone return these tickets; the boat tickets are very expensive."
He Ci took the remaining tickets. He wasn't short of money; these tickets were only worth a few thousand yuan, which wasn't a problem for him. In front of Su Ning, he obediently put them away.
