As the car drove towards the city that never sleeps, He Ci mentally cursed Qi Yan's ancestors for eighteen generations.
He Ci parked the car and saw that Su Ning was still smiling. He couldn't help but reach out and pinch Su Ning's fair face.
"You really enjoy seeing me get the short end of the stick? You heartless little thing, I'll let you off this time."
He Ci led Su Ning by the hand to the agreed private room, but when they opened the door, the room was not as decadent as Su Ning had imagined.
Perhaps because of some lingering trauma, she nervously took a few steps back when she first saw the neon-lit words "Never-Sleeping City".
He Ci knew what Su Ning was afraid of! After some explanation, Su Ning finally mustered up the courage to step inside.
Qi Yan felt a little guilty when he saw He Ci. He had no idea that Su Ning would come today; otherwise, he would never have dared to walk into the line of fire.
Lu Zhou and Xiao Lin were fine; they greeted Su Ning politely. Su Ning suddenly noticed Bai Yi in the corner of the sofa.
She was curious why Bai Yi was here too. Wasn't he a policeman? Weiwei used to say that her brother was always busy and never home.
Su Ning couldn't understand why this group of people would hang out with Bai Yi; they were clearly not the same kind of people.
Bai Yi noticed Su Ning looking at him, so he gave her a slight smile as a greeting, and Su Ning returned the smile.
She was the only woman in the entire private room, and Su Ning felt uncomfortable sitting there. Qi Yan was afraid that Su Ning would be lonely, so he asked a waiter to call a few girls to keep her company.
The waiter brought in six women, all of them dressed in flamboyant and revealing outfits.
Of the six people, one girl kept staring at them after she came in.
These people are obviously rich and powerful. If I could just hook up with any one of them, I could become a rich wife like Jiajia.
She spotted He Ci in the crowd at first glance. Yao Keli went over and, without even looking at him, pushed past Su Ning to sit down.
Fortunately, He Ci reacted quickly and caught Su Ning. When He Ci saw that he had almost hurt Su Ning, he turned around and glared at the woman.
"What are you doing! Don't you have any manners?"
Su Ning also looked at the person who bumped into her, and her pupils shrank at that glance.
"Klee?"
When Yao Keli heard someone call her, she looked up and met Su Ning's delicate face.
"Su Ning, what are you doing here?"
Yao Keli and Su Ning were both tricked by Qiao Zhenzhen, and Yao Keli was among the first batch to be chosen.
There was another one named Xu Jia. Su Ning wasn't very familiar with them; they were just acquaintances from neighboring villages.
Su Ning had only heard that she had fallen into depravity, but she never expected to see her here today. Su Ning was not a saint; people are all greedy, and they had long been addicted to the glamorous world they lived in.
Yao Keli's eyes swept back and forth between He Ci and Su Ning. Su Ning was really lucky. Looking at He Ci, he was obviously from a wealthy family.
Yao Keli deliberately raised her voice and asked, "Su Ning, is this your sugar daddy?"
He Ci clearly felt Su Ning stiffen, and he glanced at her coldly.
"If you can't speak properly, then shut up. If you don't want your tongue anymore, I don't mind cutting it off for you."
Yao Keli didn't know He Ci. She only got the chance to come to this high-end private room because she had bribed someone. Su Ning was really lucky to have someone like him protecting her.
Sure enough, looks matter everywhere. Back in the village, many young men liked her, especially Zhu Zhou, whose crush on Su Ning was practically an open secret.
The atmosphere in the private room suddenly became tense. Just because Yao Keli didn't know He Ci didn't mean the others didn't.
He Ci coldly uttered a single word, "Get lost."
The girls knew they couldn't afford to offend the person in front of them; it was all Yao Keli's fault, she almost dragged them down with her.
Yao Keli was unaware of what had happened. After leaving the house, she stopped a girl and asked her what had happened.
"Who are these people inside? Why do they speak so rudely?"
The girl rolled her eyes at her. "Heh, you call that awful? It's good enough that I didn't kill you. Do you know who you just offended? That's the heir of a mafia gang."
Yao Keli's face turned pale. She really didn't expect Su Ning to be so lucky. They were both experiencing life for the first time, so why wasn't she the one chosen?
