Chapter 87 The Understanding Flower

Just as Su Ning was thinking this, He Ci's hand began to slip inside her nightgown, then gently caressed her chest. Su Ning could hear his rapid breathing.

He Ci kissed his way down Su Ning's neck, leaving faint marks wherever he went.

Su Ning felt like a fish out of water, with an indescribable discomfort. She couldn't help but curl her toes, yet she also felt a strange pleasure and wanted more.

"Brother Ci, I feel unwell."

Su Ning's voice trembled slightly. He Ci felt the time was right. Their two hot bodies pressed together, and He Ci placed Su Ning's jade-like legs on his waist.

Just as they were about to take the next step, someone's phone rang, like a death knell.

He Ci reached for his phone, intending to turn it off and ignore it, but then saw that the caller was He Jin. He knew that at this hour, the call must be urgent.

He Ci pressed the answer button and heard He Jin's nervous voice coming from the other end.

"Little brother, come to the hospital quickly, something has happened to Dad."

Upon hearing this, He Ci's previously high spirits were instantly extinguished.

"Don't worry, sis, I'm coming right away."

After hanging up the phone, He Ci got up from Su Ning, grabbed his clothes and quickly put them on. He then said a few words and prepared to leave.

Su Ning also heard the conversation on the phone. She grabbed He Ci's hand, her face full of worry.

"Brother Ci, be careful on the road, don't drive too fast, I'll be waiting for you at home."

He Ci stepped back and kissed Su Ning on the forehead. "Little darling, you can sleep well at home. If you're scared, you can go find your sister and the others."

After that night, Su Ning didn't see He Ci for three days, nor did she call him once. During that time, Su Ning called him once, but he hung up on her.

Su Ning felt a little uneasy. He Ci didn't seem like the kind of person who acted without restraint. In the past, whenever she made a call, he would call back even if she didn't answer.

Finally, on the fifth day, He Ci returned. He was disheveled and looked exhausted, still wearing the same jacket, sweater, and jeans he had worn the night he left.

When Su Ning saw He Ci return, she quickly went to greet him. He Ci silently hugged Su Ning in his arms, looking like he was exhausted.

"Brother Ci, are you alright? Would you like to wash up and have something to eat first?"

He Ci's voice was low, but Su Ning still heard what he said clearly.

"Little darling, you were so close, so close to the old man losing his life."

Su Ning knew that the old man He Ci mentioned was his father. Although the two seemed to be at odds, He Ci actually loved his family very much, and many things were beyond his control.

Su Ning patted He Ci on the back, "Ci-ge, don't worry, everything will be alright. Wash up and eat something first, then go to sleep."

He Ci had no appetite. After washing up, he held Su Ning in his arms and lay down on the bed. Soon, even breathing could be heard.

Su Ning reached out and touched He Ci's tired face, then placed a kiss on his thin lips.

"Brother Ci, I will always be with you and be your confidante."

He Ci slept soundly. When he woke up, it was already dark. He looked at the time on his wrist; it was already six o'clock in the evening. He still had to go to the hospital.

When Su Ning saw He Ci wake up, she brought out a bowl of chicken noodle soup from the kitchen and placed it on the table.

"Brother Ci, you're awake. I made chicken noodle soup, come and have some."

Perhaps because he hadn't eaten all day, He Ci ate very quickly, finishing a bowl of noodles in no time. He Ci was full after eating two bowls.

As he was leaving, Su Ning called out to him, "Brother Ci, are you going to the hospital? Here's some chicken soup I made. Take it with you and drink it tonight. Don't burn yourself out."

He Ci took the thermos from Su Ning, then lowered his head and kissed her pink lips. He left with lingering affection after a long while.
