In the huge conference room, He Jin was arguing with a group of shareholders. With the small amount of shares she held, no one supported her at all, and no one bought her support even though she was the eldest daughter of the He family.
“The company belongs to my father. You are just shareholders. No one can replace him and take the position of chairman.”
Besides He Zhan, Chen Hua is the largest shareholder here, currently holding 25% of the shares. He is determined to become the chairman.
“Jin’er, everyone knows that the company is run by your He family. Things are different now. Your father is gone and your brother is missing. Such a big company can’t be left without a leader.”
He Jin wanted to argue, but Chen Hua waved his hand impatiently.
"Alright, let's start voting now! I have the most shares right now. Unless you can produce your father's share, I'm the chairman of the board today."
"Really? If I have more shares than you, does that mean the chairman's position will be mine?"
The door was pushed open, and Su Ning led Bai Yi, Lu Zhou, and Cui Ying into the conference room. He Jin saw a glimmer of hope in Su Ning's eyes.
Su Ning walked up to He Jin and said, "Sister, thank you for your hard work. Leave the rest to me."
He Jin looked at the people behind Su Ning and saw Lu Zhou nod. The directors below did not know who Su Ning was, and no one recognized her.
When Su Ning arrived, she was dressed in professional attire, wearing a suit that instantly made her stand out from the Su Ning of the past.
Su Ning walked to the chairman's seat and sat down. "Hello, shareholders. Let me introduce myself. My name is Su Ning, He Ci's wife, and the chairman's daughter-in-law."
After hearing Su Ning's introduction, the people below whispered among themselves. Fearing that things might change, Chen Hua spoke up with a question.
"Where did this little brat come from? What proof do you have that you're He Ci's wife? He Ci's wife is dead. Where did you come from?"
Su Ning handed a red booklet to Lu Zhou, and a moment later a marriage certificate appeared on the screen, showing He Ci and Su Ning.
"Shareholder, does a marriage certificate count as evidence? If you don't believe me, you can have someone check it at the Civil Affairs Bureau."
Looking at the date on the marriage certificate, Chen Hua became even more convinced that it was fake.
"Hahaha, it's illegal for a young girl to forge a marriage certificate. Look at the date on it, February 14th. If I remember correctly, He Ci was still in a labor camp back then!"
Su Ning smiled faintly, "Who said you can't get a marriage certificate during labor reform? You want to know if it's real or not? Just have someone check it out."
Chen Ping didn't believe it, so he immediately sent someone to check. Ten minutes later, the other party told him that the marriage certificate was real.
"So what if the marriage certificate is real? So what if you are He Ci's wife? What does that have to do with the election of the chairman?"
Su Ning looked at Lu Zhou and saw him take out three documents from his briefcase.
"Dear shareholders, I'm sure you all know me. I'm Lu Zhou, He Ci's personal lawyer. Today, on behalf of He Ci's wife, Ms. Su Ning, I'd like to announce something."
“I have three share certificates in my hands. One is Mr. He Ci’s, one is Mr. He Zhan’s, and the other is Ms. Su Ning’s.”
"He Ci owns 10% of the shares, and Miss Su Ning owns 2% of the shares. Together, the couple owns 12%."
Chen Ping sneered, "Attorney Lu, are you sure you're not just messing with us? I have 25% in my hands. Even if the siblings combine their shares, it won't be as much as I have alone."
Lu Zhou then took out the last shareholding agreement. "Director Chen, don't be in a hurry! I just said there are three copies. The previous two were for He Ci and Su Ning, and this one is for Old Master He Zhan."
Upon hearing this, Chen Ping suddenly stood up. "How is that possible? He Zhan didn't leave a will, and even if he has shares, it doesn't prove that he has more than me."
Su Ning stood up. "My husband and I own 12 percent of the shares, and my father-in-law owns 30 percent. Now that my father-in-law is gone, his shares naturally belong to my husband and my sister-in-law, each owning half."
"Our combined shares, plus this 15%, do you think that's enough?"
He Jin never expected Su Ning to be so aggressive, so she decided to help Su Ning out.
“I don’t want a single share of my father’s shares. My sister-in-law, Su Ning, will handle them all. Su Ning already has 42% of the shares. If that’s not enough, I’ll have my 10%. Director Chen, who do you think should be in this position today?”
