Chapter 12 Congratulatory Message Gets Beaten

He Ci had a cigarette dangling from his mouth and was fiddling with the knife in his hand; he was a complete scoundrel.

He Kun saw that it was He Ci, and his rough voice carried a fawning smile.

"Oh! Young Master He, what brings you here? Look at my men, they're really incompetent. No one even informed you of your arrival."

After saying that, he slapped one of his underlings across the face, yelling, "You idiot! Go find some pretty girls for Young Master He and send them over!"

He Ci's smile didn't reach his eyes; he reached out and put his arm around Su Ning's waist.

"This one is quite good, are you willing to part with it?"

After He Ci finished speaking, his large hand moved down Su Ning's waist. He took a deep drag of his cigarette and exhaled it slowly into Su Ning's face. Su Ning coughed because she was choked. She felt the man's large hand had already touched the base of her thigh.

Su Ning coughed until tears streamed down her face, and she reached out and slapped He Ci across the face.

"Shameless! I thought you were a good person, at least you wouldn't bully me like they do."

He Ci's head snapped to the side from the sudden slap, and the cigarette in his mouth fell onto the carpet, burning a hole in it.

He Kun, standing to the side, saw through the situation. He realized he couldn't keep this woman, so why not go with the flow and do her a favor?

"Don't be ungrateful. It's an honor that Young Master He has taken a liking to you. Serve him well tonight."

Su Ning looked at A Rang, hoping he could help her. A Rang had just recovered from his shock, so how could he bring himself to speak? Just two days ago, he had been saying he wanted to repay the young master for saving his life, but today he had slapped his benefactor across the face.

He Ci watched the two exchanging glances, glared at A Rang, and spoke to Su Ning.

"Since he's useless, why don't you beg me to take you out?"

The hope that had risen in Su Ning's heart was instantly shattered. "I'd rather die than let you succeed."

When He Ci saw that Su Ning was serious, his body reacted faster than his brain.

With a muffled groan, Su Ning crashed into the wine cabinet next to her, but He Ci was one step ahead of her, and she ended up crashing headfirst into He Ci's arms. The pain in her waist made He Ci gasp.

He Ci held Su Ning tightly, afraid that if he wasn't careful, she might try to kill herself again.

Su Ning struggled a few times in his arms, "You beasts, you'll get your comeuppance sooner or later."

He Ci looked at Su Ning's beautiful face, which was covered in tears, and felt a sharp pain in his heart.

He turned to look at He Kun, "Then thank you for your generosity, Brother Kun. I'll take him with me."

Before Su Ning could react, she was already on He Ci's shoulder. He Kun watched the departing group of people, lost in thought.

Qiao Zhen never expected Su Ning to be so lucky as to be chosen by the heir of the underworld. She was so jealous that her nails dug into her palms. She would never allow Su Ning to leave X Port alive.

He Ci sat opposite Su Ning in the car and spoke with a wronged expression.

"Don't be angry. I wasn't trying to save you just now, and you didn't lose anything by slapping me."

Su Ning looked up at He Ci's handsome face, where her own handprint was still visible.

He Ci continued, "I was wrong this morning. I shouldn't have said those things. I deserved to be splashed. If you're angry, you can hit me on the other side of my face, but could you please go easy on me?"

"I'm sorry! I... I shouldn't have misunderstood you."

He Ci breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Su Ning had finally spoken to him; he didn't want to see the girl sad.

He Ci instinctively reached out to grab Su Ning's hand, but she dodged it, and He Ci awkwardly withdrew his hand.

"I chased after you as soon as you left this morning, but you ran too fast. I didn't even get to ask you what you were doing here?"

Speaking of what happened tonight, Su Ning still felt lingering fear.

"I was drugged as soon as I went out, and when I woke up I was here."

He Ci looked at her seriously, "How did you get to know those people? Did they do anything to you?"

Su Ning shook her head. "I was tricked into coming to X Hong Kong. She was afraid I would talk nonsense when I returned to my hometown, so she forced me to sing there."
