Side Story 3: Delivering Medicine

Ou Yan returned to his residence, which was built on a lake with water all around. He lived in a bamboo house on the second floor.

Ou Yan took off his black shirt and tossed it aside, bloodstains still faintly visible on it, then walked into the bathroom shirtless.

Ou Yan tilted his head back to rinse, blood flowing down his body into the drainpipe. The scars on his back were intricate, some fresh, some already established.

Olsen stood outside the door, then placed the medicine bottle he was holding on the door, knocked, and left.

After washing up, Ou Yan came out and saw no one. Looking down, he noticed a medicine bottle on the ground. He bent down to pick it up, a smile curving his lips.

Li Jianyi was worried. He thought Ou Yan's injury was on his back and he shouldn't be able to reach it to apply the medicine. A moment later, there was another knock on the door. Ou Yan saw the person who came and a wicked smile appeared on his face.

"Second Uncle, you're so worried about me that you had to come and supervise in person. I've received the medicine, thank you, Second Uncle."

Li Jianyi was dumbfounded. What nonsense was this kid spouting! When did he give this kid medicine?

"I didn't send it; mine is here."

When Ou Yan saw the ointment in Li Jianyi's hand, he quickly went back, picked up the medicine bottle, and showed it to Li Jianyi.

"Second Uncle, didn't you leave this at my door?"

Li Jianyi looked at the medicine bottle in Ou Yan's hand and felt it was familiar. It seemed that Ou Sen still cared about this child.

"It might be your dad."

Before Li Jianyi could finish speaking, Ou Yan disappeared without a trace. It was obvious that he had gone to find Ou Sen.

Ou Yan arrived at another bamboo house. He took a deep breath and knocked on Ou Sen's bamboo house. Ou Sen's voice came from inside.

Who is it?

"Dad, I am Ou Yan."

Olsen showed no intention of opening the door. "I'm already asleep. You should go and get some rest too."

Ou Yan felt a little disappointed. Other people's children were loved by their parents, so why was his father so indifferent?

"I received the medicine, thank you Dad. Get some rest."

Ou Yan clenched the medicine bottle in his hand. This was the first time his father had shown concern for him. Was it because he felt guilty for beating him today?

The more Ou Yan thought about it, the more ridiculous it seemed. He shouldn't have fantasized about the only remaining fatherly love. If his mother were still alive, wouldn't he have had a happy childhood and been loved and pampered by someone?

In the He family home in Gangcheng, Su Ning watched her two children laughing and playing in the living room, and she couldn't help but shed tears.

He Ci quickly sat down next to her to comfort her, "Why are you crying, wife? Is it because these two kids are too noisy?"

Su Ning nestled in He Ci's arms. "Husband, I miss that child. I haven't heard from him all these years. I wonder how he's doing now."

He Fanxing and He Yuhang, siblings, were unaware of what had happened to their mother, who had been perfectly fine just moments before.

"Mom, don't cry. I won't bully my little brother anymore. If Yuhang wants to be the older brother, I'll let him have it."

He Fanxing and He Yuhang are twins, a boy and a girl, both eighteen years old this year. The child was lost years ago, and Su Ning has been crying every day ever since.

Mother He wanted to adopt a child from the clan for her, but Su Ning disagreed. She never gave up the search, only to be disappointed each time.

He Ci felt that they were not destined to have children, and that it would be a misfortune for a child to be born into their family. He even almost drove Su Ning crazy.

He Ci didn't want Su Ning to suffer this kind of pain in the future, so he went to the hospital to have Xiao Lin help him get a tubal ligation. Su Ning rushed to the hospital to stop him after she found out.

Perhaps it was a blessing from heaven that she was able to have twins, a boy and a girl. From then on, Su Ning began to do good deeds for her children, hoping that one day her eldest son would be found.

He Yuhang was also very anxious. "Mom, what's wrong? Don't cry! I won't bully Fanxing anymore."

He Ci wiped away Su Ning's tears, "You are so kind, God has already compensated you with Fanxing and Yuhang. I believe that if that child were still alive, He would have sent him to us."

He Fanxing and He Yuhang also knew that they had an older brother who was lost after birth. Their parents searched for him for many years with almost no news, which became a source of heartache for their mother.
