Chapter 111 The Disease of the Vulva

Thinking of Fu Xia's original suffering, Shen Yunjiao felt a pang of heartache.

This time, she wouldn't let Fuxia suffer anymore.

Shen Yunjiao smiled at her, "Even after you get married, you can still stay by my side. Don't worry, you'll be with me for the rest of your life, enjoying all the good things in life."

Fu Xia still looked extremely annoyed, and she ignored Shen Yunjiao while she was still angry.

Yingchun chuckled and said, "Miss, Fuxia is just embarrassed. A while ago, Granny Lin said she wanted to arrange for Fuxia to be her son's wife. Fuxia is using you as a shield now."

Granny Lin has two sons. Her eldest son married the daughter of a hunter from the same village last year, and the young couple lived happily together and had two big, healthy sons. Her younger son, Lin Kai, had been traveling all over the country and had no time to get married until he returned to the Shen family last month, where he has been working for Uncle Lin ever since.

He did all the chores, such as finding shops and buying medicinal herbs for Shen Yunjiao.

Although Lin Kai is quick-witted, he is also honest and reliable.

Shen Yunjiao felt somewhat at ease knowing that Fuxia was to be Lin Kai's wife.

Shen Yunjiao has been very busy lately and hasn't had a chance to speak with Lin Mama yet. Lin Mama wanted to tell her, but she wanted to wait until the young lady was less busy, so the matter was naturally delayed.

Upon hearing Yingchun's words, Fuxia blushed and stamped her foot in anger, saying, "Yingchun is talking nonsense! Please help me, young lady!"

Shen Yunjiao shrugged and smiled, "I don't want to get involved in your affairs. After all, you're both my children."

Upon hearing this, Fu Xia dropped the comb in her hand and started tickling Ying Chun's armpits. Ying Chun laughed and begged for mercy, calling out, "Grandma, have mercy!"

Shen Yun stood up with a smile and said to Fu Xia, "Alright, stop playing around. Fu Xia, come here and tell me the truth. Do you have any feelings for Lin Kai?"

Lin Kai was handsome, with thick eyebrows and big eyes, and he was very caring. Fu Xia had met him a few times before and had a very deep impression of him.

She blushed and said, "Lin Kai is quite good."

Shen Yunjiao knew that the young girl was just shy, so she didn't join Yingchun in teasing her. Instead, she patted Fuxia's head reassuringly and said, "Granny Lin is a family member we know very well. You definitely won't be bullied if you marry into the Lin family. Don't worry, I will arrange this marriage for you perfectly."

Upon hearing this, Fu Xia's eyes welled up with tears: "Thank you, young lady."

Shen Yunjiao only had a few people around her, such as Granny Lin, Fuxia, and Yingchun, so naturally she hoped that everyone would be well.

After keeping Fu Xia's marriage in mind, Shen Yunjiao also remembered that Doctor Li was coming to make a consultation today.

She quickly ate breakfast and then went outside.

As she walked out of the courtyard, she encountered Ping An, who was carrying a pile of books and heading towards the garden.

"Young Madam—uh, Miss Shen, hello." Ping An awkwardly corrected himself and bowed.

Shen Yunjiao, however, didn't care. She smiled generously at Ping An and asked, "Has Doctor Li arrived?"

"They said they're on their way," Ping An said hastily. He glanced quickly at Shen Yunjiao and then asked, "Miss Shen, would you like to come with me to Mengyanzhai first? The young master is airing out his books; perhaps you could lend a hand."

"Sun-drying books?" Shen Yunjiao asked in confusion.

"Today is June 6th. The young master said that if we hang the books and pictures on the rack to dry, the books won't get infested with insects."

"He's injured, yet he's doing all this himself?" Shen Yunjiao frowned.

“Young Master has always loved books more than anything. Why don’t you come with me, Miss Shen, to help him?” Ping An asked again cautiously.

Shen Yunjiao shook her head: "The Pei family has many people who can help. Go and call others. Also, after Doctor Li goes to see Pei Zhixuan, have him come and see me."

A hint of disappointment flashed in Ping An's eyes, but he still respectfully bowed his head and replied, "Yes."

Shen Yunjiao returned to the small kitchen in the courtyard and called over several nimble maids from the Pei family to learn how to brew medicine.

In the prescription she prepared for Pei Zhixuan this time, there was a herb called Xuefu Zhuyu. To ensure its efficacy, it was necessary to decoct it three times with Platycodon grandiflorus and Achyranthes bidentata before putting it all into the medicine pot and simmering it over low heat.

Shen Yunjiao patiently taught them, and these maids were also clever, having done similar work before, so they learned it in no time.

When Doctor Li arrived, he also brought some rare and exotic herbs that Shen Yunjiao had only seen in medical books, all of which could be used as medicine.

When Shen Yunjiao saw Doctor Li arrive, she quickly got up and asked about the matter she was most concerned about, which was Pei Zhixuan's condition.

Doctor Li replied with a smile, "Young Master Pei is a martial artist, strong and healthy, and has recovered quite well."

Shen Yunjiao breathed a sigh of relief, "That's good, thank you, Dr. Li."

"This is not solely due to my efforts; the Crown Princess—no, Miss Shen's prescription was also very effective," Doctor Li said with a smile, stroking his beard.

Seeing that there were many people in the kitchen courtyard, he asked in a low voice, "Miss Chen, may I speak to you in private?"

"Of course, Dr. Li, this way please."

After leading Doctor Li, who was carrying a medicine box, into the adjacent hallway, Shen Yunjiao asked in a low voice, "What brings you here, Doctor Li?"

Without much hesitation, Dr. Li took out a package from his medicine box. "Miss Shen, have you ever heard of the Cold Water Flower?"

"Never heard of it." Shen Yunjiao took the packet of dry, hard seeds with a dark green sheen from Li Wei's hand.

"This flower is extremely insidious, but its seeds are full of yang energy. However, it only grows in western Sichuan, and the seeds are extremely rare. My cousin is a herb gatherer, and he brought me some today after returning to the capital. Miss Shen, grind these seeds into powder, mix them with spring water, and drink it. This will cure your condition of being an imperforate woman."

"Thank you, Dr. Li." Shen Yunjiao was a little surprised. "You still remember this matter. You're so thoughtful."

"Alas." Li Wei sighed heavily. "There are rumors circulating in the capital that you cannot have children and have been rejected by the Crown Prince. Miss Shen once helped me. If you agree, I will do everything in my power to cure you."

Li Wei examined Shen Yunjiao's pulse. Although the pulse was extremely weak and cold, it was not yet beyond cure.

"I don't care what others say. As for whether I can have children, it's all up to fate." Shen Yunjiao smiled slightly and returned the packet of seeds to Li Wei. "Dr. Li, please give this good stuff to those who really need it."

Li Wei could only take it back. "Very well, Miss Shen, please rest and recover for now. If there's anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask."

Upon hearing this, Shen Yunjiao smiled and looked at Li Wei: "What a coincidence, I have something to discuss with you right now, Doctor, please sit down and let's talk."

After taking a sip of cool tea, Shen Yunjiao calmly said, "I once told you, Doctor Li, that I wanted to open an acupuncture clinic."

Do you still remember that thought?

Li Wei nodded hurriedly and said, "Of course I remember. Are you sure you want to open the museum, young lady?"

“Of course, but the clinic is still in the setup phase, and I would like to borrow the space in the Four Clinics Hall.” Shen Yunjiao told Li Wei about her plan.

While her acupuncture clinic was under renovation, Shen Yunjiao planned to train the several famous doctors from Beijing that she had previously spoken to. Their acupuncture skills should be excellent, but Shen Yunjiao wanted to teach them some modern medical concepts and acupuncture techniques.

Upon hearing this, Doctor Li looked at Shen Yunjiao in surprise: "Does Miss Shen mean that she wants to pass on all her best skills? Isn't Miss Shen afraid that other doctors will use these skills to make money?"

Shen Yunjiao laughed and said, "If they learn more and save more people, that would be even better. I don't care about that."

Saving lives and healing the wounded is the duty and mission of doctors.
