Chapter 51 This matter...

Meow! Oh yes, oh yes!

"And it's a talking cat?!"

After He Qilan finished speaking, she looked at Zhong Suisui with a puzzled expression, then at Zhong Wan.

She nodded with a smile.

"Mom, it's true."

Her eyes were cunning, and the more innocent they appeared, the more...

The more He Qilan disbelieved it,

She shook her head and said firmly, "Impossible! You're just trying to fool me."

"Cough cough."

Lin Yan'an coughed lightly, concealing the smile on his lips.

He looked at He Qilan, whose eyes were full of doubt, and nodded slightly under her gaze: "Mom, it's true."

"Sui Sui is no ordinary cat."

"real?"

Meow! Really!

While opening her mouth wide and barking, Zhong Suisui stretched out her claws at He Qilan.

Seeing this, Zhong Wan instinctively shoved the cat into her mother's arms.

He Qilan quickly reached out and hugged the kitten, looking down at it in her arms.

I looked at it carefully again and again.

That's when I realized that what I initially thought was just an ordinary orange cat was actually quite different upon closer inspection.

Zhong Suisui's eyes were dark in color and frighteningly bright.

Its colors, at first glance, are composed of orange and white, but there is a faint hint of pink in the orange.

He Qilan tentatively raised her hand and gently stroked its head.

Zhong Suisui rubbed her palm obediently, her eyes narrowed contentedly, and she kept making comfortable little purring sounds in her throat.

[Gurgle, gurgle, hello Grandma!]

He Qilan's eyes widened slightly, filled with curiosity.

"That's really amazing."

"How did you meet Wanwan...?"

"Zhong Suisui".

Lin Yan'an keenly noticed the slight pause in He Qilan's words and whispered a reminder.

He Qilan smiled even more contentedly as she watched him.

Her voice was filled with laughter: "Yes, Sui Sui."

How did you run into them?

Zhong Wan casually popped a grape into her mouth and said in a muffled voice, "Well..."

As she spoke, she glanced at the four people's curious eyes and chuckled, "It's a long story, so I'll stop here for now."

"Zhong Wan!"

He Qilan rolled her eyes, speechless: "Are you kidding me?"

As she spoke, she reached out and gently patted Zhong Wan's arm: "You're such a grown-up, yet you're still so childish!"

Zhong Wan gave a haughty snort, reached out and took the cat from her arms and put it in Lin Yan'an's arms, then pushed her mother's arm with both hands and urged, "Go check the food in the pot, it'll burn soon!"

"Yeah, right!"

He Qilan quickly said, "Then Yan An, Xing Yu, you two sit down first. I have to go and take a look right away."

Watching her hurried figure disappear into the distance, Lin Yan'an turned to Zhong Wan and tentatively asked, "Should I go help?"

Zhong Wan never expected him to say something like that.

Somewhat surprised, she turned back to look at him, and seeing his sincere eyes, she paused slightly in her chewing.

Zhong Wan casually held the grapes in her hand to his lips, shook her head and said, "I don't need you for now, just sit still."

Lin Yan'an glanced down at the grapes in her hand; a purplish-black grape was held between her slender, fair fingers.

One dark and one light, creating a striking contrast.

Just watching him, his eyes instantly deepened, and he slightly opened his mouth to eat it.

His warm, delicate fingers touched his lips briefly and then left.

Lin Yan'an lowered her eyes, chewing as she murmured, "It's very sweet."

Zhong Wan also strongly agreed with this point.

She nodded affirmatively, bent down, picked up the fruit bowl, and placed it in front of Lin Yan'an: "I also think it's very sweet."

"Eat more if you like it. There's no need to be polite at home."

"But don't eat too much on an empty stomach. You can continue after you finish eating."

"Um."

Lin Yan'an reached out, picked up a piece, and put it in his mouth.

Watching the two of them go back and forth, Zhong Suisui arrogantly flicked her tail, stood up, and jumped onto Pei Xingyu's back.

Pei Xingyu was instantly flattered and quickly hugged it to his arms: "Oh my, my little darling actually came to me on his own initiative."

Looking at his silly expression as he held the cat in his arms and buried his head in it, sucking on it intently...

Zhong Yang rolled his eyes, speechless.

Seeing this, Zhong Wan's lips curled up slightly. She looked at Zhong Yang, then glanced towards the kitchen and nodded slightly.

Zhong Yang understood immediately.

Sure enough, he had absolutely no standing in this family.

"Hurry up."

Zhong Wan urged him without any politeness.

Zhong Yang sighed and stood up, replying weakly in a drawn-out tone, "I know..."

Zhong Wan sat for a while longer before getting up as well: "I'm going to the restroom, you can do as you please."

"Um,"

Lin Yan'an hummed in agreement and nodded to indicate that she understood.

"Okay, got it."

Despite his busy schedule, Pei Xingyu still managed to reply enthusiastically.

One is cold, the other is hot; they're quite an extreme pair of uncle and nephew.

Pei Xingyu was having a great time playing with the cat.

Suddenly remembering something, he quickly looked up at his uncle and asked, "Uncle, did you buy anything?"

"Um?"

Lin Yan'an calmly turned her head to look, not forgetting to eat the grapes in her hand: "What do you want to buy?"

"This is your first time visiting your in-laws' house. You've already accepted the red envelopes, but you didn't bring anything. Is it appropriate to come empty-handed?!"

Lin Yan'an fell silent, even slowing down his chewing: "It's not appropriate."

"Exactly, Uncle, what do you suggest we do?"

Pei Xingyu was starting to get anxious.

Lin Yan'an remained calm: "I came in a hurry this time and didn't have time. Maybe next time."

Pei Xingyu frowned instantly upon hearing this.

Zhong Suisui got up and quickly ran out of his large arms.

Hiding behind Lin Yan'an, she said smugly, "[Sui Sui doesn't need it.]"

The passing of years is the best gift!

It spoke with great pride.

How could it not be proud of its unique existence in the world?

Lin Yan'an smiled immediately after hearing this and nodded in agreement: "Sui Sui is right."

Who is Sui Sui?

As soon as Zhong Yuansheng returned home, he heard several unfamiliar voices.

He stepped into the living room doorway and asked curiously, "And who are you?"

"Why are you in my house?"

Upon hearing this, Lin Yan'an and Pei Xingyu turned to look and, seeing the face that resembled Zhong Yang's, quickly stood up.

"dad!"

Just as Lin Yan'an was about to speak, he heard Zhong Wan's voice from outside.

The three of them looked at her simultaneously.

Watching Zhong Wan's figure, Zhong Yuansheng couldn't help but smile.

Even the fatigue from working all night seemed to be somewhat driven away.

"Wanwan's coming back? Are you on holiday?"

Zhong Wan smiled and moved closer to him, reaching out to take the jacket from his hand.

Zhong Yuansheng shook his head to stop him: "No need, my clothes are dirty, so don't touch them."

Zhong Wan ignored her and snatched the clothes away, saying, "Alright, hurry up and go inside to change your clothes. We'll eat after you've washed up."

Zhong Yuansheng sighed: "I won't change it. I still have to go to the mine after I finish eating."

"Why go there after work?"

"I'm not going to my place, I'm going to your mom's workplace. Old Zhang passed away. He worked with your mom for so many years and helped us a lot."

Zhong Yuansheng shook his head with a hint of disappointment: "His body hasn't been found yet. I'll go help look for it after I finish eating. Don't let your mother go."
