Chapter 73 The Child Has Grown Up
As everything in the village gradually got back on track...
Zhong Wan finally had time to think about her dilapidated general store and the soul that had possessed Ah Gui.
The next day,
Zhong Wan got up early in the morning, not forgetting to urge Lin Yan'an, who had been woken up by her, "Get up quickly, we'll go back after we finish eating."
"Hehe, I'll take care of the money."
Zhong Wan hummed a little tune happily as she quickly packed their things.
Looking at her greedy appearance, Lin Yan'an couldn't help but shake his head and chuckle.
She was the one who said she loved money, and she was also the one who gave him all her savings without hesitation.
Lin Yan'an really couldn't understand her.
But his gaze seemed to have its own will, involuntarily following her figure.
Seeing her happy and cheerful expression, I couldn't help but smile as well.
He had only known her for two short months, but every day seemed to be fulfilling and exciting for him.
As he experienced increasingly better sleep and a more regular lifestyle, his mood gradually lightened, and so did his overall well-being.
Unlike his taciturn demeanor when they first met, he seemed much more approachable in her home and in her presence.
After the family had a lively breakfast,
Zhong Wan was the first to suggest that she had to go back to the shop.
He Qilan and Zhong Yuansheng were taken aback upon hearing this, then smiled and agreed.
He Qilan couldn't sit still any longer. She got up and walked around, saying, "It's time to go back. The shop has been empty for so long."
As she packed her things, she muttered, "I'll get you some food. Come back for more after you've eaten."
"What do you want to eat? Mom will find it for you."
Upon hearing this, Zhong Wan quickly turned to look out the window, at the newly added goose pen in the garden, and chuckled as she gazed at the fluffy goslings and ducklings inside.
She didn't say a word, but the others all understood what she meant.
He Qilan rolled her eyes speechlessly: "Just wait, it's still a long way off!"
She reached out and pulled out a bag, handing it to her: "Go ahead, pick whatever you want to eat from the garden."
"Okay, Mom!"
Zhong Wan happily agreed.
Her garden is full of the things she likes to eat.
Like a locust swarm passing through, leaving no one behind.
Lin Yan'an looked at the packed trunk, feeling a mix of excitement and embarrassment.
This is the first time in my life I've experienced the legendary "you can't handle the consequences" situation.
He Qilan looked at his slightly shy smile, then at her greedy daughter standing under the grape trellis, eating grapes and directing Sui Sui to pick which ones to pick.
He Qilan couldn't help but smile and shake her head: "Yan An, come back with Wanwan more often if you don't have anything else to do."
"You'll get used to it after a few more visits. We're all family, no need to be so polite."
"Okay, Mom."
Lin Yan'an smiled and agreed, glancing at the wrinkles at the corner of her eyes. Looking at her loving smile, he said with concern, "Mom, take a good rest at home. You don't need to go to the construction site so often."
"It's okay. I'm just idling at home anyway. I can ride my bike to your grandma's house for a bit, and going to the construction site is just a convenient option."
He Qilan smiled with great pride. Now, when she goes out, whether she knows them or not, people can't help but come up to her and praise her daughter and son-in-law.
Just listening to her makes me happy, but listening to her too often can get boring. She knows how to keep it in check.
Suddenly remembering a question she had been asked before, He Qilan couldn't help but look at Lin Yan'an and ask curiously, "Yan'an?"
"Um?"
When are you and Wanwan planning to have a baby?
Lin Yan'an was taken aback upon hearing this, and turned to look at his mother-in-law.
He Qilan smiled kindly and continued, "Don't be afraid of the trouble. When you have children, I'll help you take care of them."
"You two keep going with your work. I'll take care of the child, so don't worry."
Lin Yan'an suddenly felt a sense of anticipation.
He turned to Zhong Wan with a smile in his eyes and said gently, "Look at Zhong Wan."
"I'll listen to her."
"ah?"
Zhong Wan had just walked over carrying grapes when she heard this, and she couldn't help but ask curiously, "Why should I listen to you?"
After she finished speaking, she didn't forget to stuff another one into her mouth.
He Qilan looked at her speechlessly and complained, "You just picked them, did you wash them? Aren't you afraid of getting a stomachache?"
Zhong Wan shrugged, picked up a grape, wiped it, and stuffed it into her mother's mouth, saying, "A little dirt won't hurt you."
"Hehe, you ate some too."
He Qilan smiled helplessly: "Alright, go back and wash the rest before eating."
Okay.
"Alright, drive slowly on the way back, and be careful."
"Uh-huh,"
"Have children sooner,"
"Huh?!"
Zhong Wan nodded obediently, but after realizing what she had said, her voice suddenly rose, almost cracking: "Mom, what did you say?!"
"Have children soon."
“Uh…”
After confirming she hadn't misheard, Zhong Wan turned to look at Lin Yan'an, and seeing his ears slightly flushed, she instantly smiled: "Okay."
"No rush, let's let nature take its course."
"Okay, if you've decided to take it, then go ahead."
Zhong Yang held Zhong Suisui and handed her to Lin Yan'an. Looking at his brother-in-law's ear, he couldn't help but smirk.
Looking down at Zhong Suisui, gazing into its big, watery eyes, she couldn't help but whisper, "Suisui, be good, go back and sleep by yourself, okay?"
【Meow? 】
"Does Sui Sui want her younger brother or sister to play with her?"
【Meow! I want to.】
"Then remember to sleep by yourself, okay? Our Sui Sui is already a super powerful big cat!"
[Meow! Uncle is right! Let's listen to Uncle!]
After calming Zhong Suisui down, Zhong Yang looked at his brother-in-law and awkwardly advised, "Brother-in-law, remember to keep a distance from Suisui when you're doing 'that'..."
"Children are growing up and should have their own privacy."
Um? What does that mean?
Lin Yan'an pursed her lips, looking at his concerned eyes, wanting to ask him clearly.
Zhong Wan didn't share his concerns and kicked him without hesitation, scoffing, "What? Don't talk nonsense."
"Aren't you coming back with us this time?"
Zhong Yang felt wronged, but what could he do? ┓(′`)┏
"No, since summer vacation isn't over yet, Xingyu and I will travel around and help you with the construction while we're at it."
Pei Xingyu nodded quickly upon hearing this: "Yes, yes, Auntie, I won't be going back for now, don't miss me."
After saying that, he looked at He Qilan and asked with a smile, "Great-aunt, can I stay at your house until the end of summer vacation?"
"Of course you can, Xingyu, don't worry, there's no need to be so polite at your great-aunt's house."
"Hehe, thank you, Great-Aunt!"
Pei Xingyu thanked him cheerfully, and his smile grew even more smug as he watched his uncle.
"Goodbye, Uncle. Remember to wash my car when you have time. We'll come visit you the day before school starts."
Lin Yan'an was speechless. His nephew was really living a carefree life.
