Chapter 125 is not written at all.
Zhong Wan hung up very quickly, catching Lin Yan'an quite off guard.
He stared blankly for a moment at the video call that had been abruptly disconnected, then couldn't help but shake his head and chuckle, his fingertips tapping on the keyboard:
[I forgot to mention, I had Uncle Zhao bring a car over for your convenience. It's parked in the underground garage, and the keys are in the drawer above the shoe cabinet.]
Goodnight, Mrs. Lin.
They replied almost immediately.
Mrs. Lin: Okay, goodnight and go to sleep early.
Lin Yan'an looked at the messages on the computer, her smile deepening.
After replying with "OK" again, I closed the chat window.
Looking at the work on my desk, I snapped out of my thoughts and got back to work.
He didn't stop working until the night outside the window gradually faded and the sky began to lighten, finally finishing his work before dawn.
Lin Yan'an yawned as he got up and stretched his sore shoulders and neck.
I glanced at the time; I only had time for a short rest.
It felt like he had just closed his eyes when his phone alarm went off.
Lin Yan'an opened his eyes almost instantly, his eyes still slightly bloodshot, but he wasn't sleepy at all. He reached for his phone and turned off the alarm.
After rubbing his slightly throbbing temples, he quickly got up.
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Zhong Suisui lying obediently beside him. He didn't know when it had woken up, but it was now quietly staring at him with its bright, big eyes, its tail tip gently swaying.
Seeing this, Lin Yan'an couldn't help but smile and ask, "Is Sui Sui awake?"
His voice was hoarse and contained a hint of fatigue.
【Uh-huh. 】
Zhong Suisui sat up on the bed, wiped her kitten face with her paw, and then looked at Lin Yan'an. "Good morning, Daddy."
"morning."
Lin Yan'an smiled and nodded in agreement: "After Dad gets ready, we'll go downstairs for breakfast."
【OK. 】
Zhong Suisui obediently agreed, and in a flash, she landed in front of him and sat upright in the air.
Tilting its head, the kitten curiously looked at the faint blue under Lin Yan'an's eyes and asked, "What's under Daddy's eyes?"
Upon hearing this, Lin Yan'an subconsciously raised her hand and gently touched the area under her eyes with her fingertip: "It's very obvious?"
【Uh-huh! 】
Zhong Suisui nodded affirmatively. "It's the color my mom uses for her mascara."
Lin Yan'an chuckled speechlessly, then reached out and scooped the kitten in front of her into her arms: "Mommy's that's mascara, Daddy's that's dark circles, they're completely different!"
【oh,】
Zhong Suisui flicked her tail boredly. [Can I eat it?]
Lin Yan'an paused, then helplessly lowered his head and explained, "You can't eat it."
"Dad got this from staying up late and not getting enough sleep, it's not from what he ate."
Zhong Suisui nodded her head as if she understood but not quite.
Lin Yan'an wasn't sure how much it understood, but she was doing her best to teach it.
Suddenly, I felt a warm sensation throughout my body. My body, which had felt somewhat empty from staying up late for the past two days, seemed to be nourished, and the emptiness within me felt slowly being soothed.
He quickly looked down, staring in disbelief at the kitten's paw resting on his hand, and at the faint black aura swirling between the man and the paw.
He keenly sensed that the warmth was coming from there.
[Dad, are you feeling better?]
Zhong Suisui tilted her little head, her childish voice full of concern.
Lin Yan'an felt a warmth in his heart and gently stroked its head, saying, "Daddy is much better, thank you, Sui Sui."
He paused, then looked at it seriously and asked, "Won't doing this cause you any harm?"
Zhong Suisui yawned, her beard trembling slightly. [Losing a little of my original Yin energy makes me sleepy.]
[But it's alright. Yin energy is like a tonic for Dad's body. The better Dad's health, the more yin energy he has, and the better he can absorb it year after year. He'll replenish it quickly.]
Lin Yan'an understood, and was about to say something when she saw the kitten in front of her tilt its body to the side, close its eyes, and lie down.
He quickly reached out and caught it, feeling its steady breathing and listening to its rhythmic purring, before finally letting out a sigh of relief.
Lin Yan'an held the kitten in one arm and gently tapped Zhong Suisui's little nose with his index finger, saying in a helpless tone, "You really are just like your mother, kind and pitiful."
He carefully placed the cat into his shirt pocket before starting to tidy up the cat.
As soon as I went downstairs and entered the restaurant, I saw Pei Xingyao excitedly running towards me.
"Uncle, where's Sui Sui?"
"Shhh."
Lin Yan'an gently waved his hand and whispered to her, "Sui Sui is still sleeping."
"All right."
Pei Xingyao instantly felt disappointed. She stood on tiptoe to look at the pocket Lin Yan'an was pointing to on his chest, and after seeing the slightly heaving belly inside, she asked in a muffled voice, "When will Sui Sui wake up?"
"I have to go back this afternoon. Can I still play with it this morning?"
Hearing this, Lin Yan'an lowered his eyes and looked at her expectant little expression, then smiled and said, "It should be okay, right?"
"And even if it doesn't work out today, there will always be opportunities in the future."
Pei Xingyao pouted, feeling wronged. "When will that be?"
Seeing this, Lin Yan'an raised his hand and patted her head, saying softly, "Why don't you stay a few more days? Are you going back today?"
"Um."
Pei Xingyao nodded weakly and said, "Today is the 27th, and we start school on the 1st, but I haven't finished my homework yet..."
Lin Yan'an chuckled upon hearing this: "Then good luck. Did you not bring any homework with you?"
"No, why would I think about homework when I'm playing?"
Pei Xingyao responded quite confidently: "I just want to have some fun first."
"Not a single word was written?"
"I did write a little, and my grandma watched me write it."
Lin Yan'an understood: "Your older brother started school today, right? He won't be able to help you with your homework this time."
Pei Xingyao: "..."
This was a bolt from the blue; her world had truly collapsed.
Instantly, she lost all her energy.
She remained listless and dispirited, barely paying attention even while playing on her phone. She couldn't understand what they were doing at work, so she kept glancing at her uncle's pocket.
After an unknown amount of time, Pei Xingyao noticed the thing move slightly, and then a fluffy little head poked out of the pocket.
Upon seeing this, her eyes lit up instantly, and she quickly got up and went over.
He reached out and handed it to Zhong Suisui, gazing at it expectantly.
Lin Yan'an noticed the commotion, looked down and saw the cat's round eyes, now bright and alert. Relieved, she gently stroked its head with her finger: "How was your rest? Still sleepy?"
Zhong Suisui shook her head upon hearing this. "I'm not sleepy anymore."
"Okay, then play with your sister for a while. After Dad finishes his work, he'll take you back to pick up Mom."
Zhong Suisui's eyes lit up instantly, and she nodded quickly.
The next second, his body flashed, instantly transforming into a black ray of light that landed on Pei Xingyao's head.
Little Brain sat atop her little head, gently patting her forehead with its paw and urging, "Sister, hurry up, let's go out and play. Let's wait for Daddy."
"good."
Pei Xingyao happily agreed and ran out with the cat on her head.
Those who remained indoors exchanged bewildered glances upon seeing this.
Even though I had already witnessed Zhong Suisui's extraordinary abilities, I still couldn't help but be surprised.
