Chapter 32 The Late Puppy Won't Get Angry
In Haibi's eyes, Sorenlo was always indifferent, like a block of ice that could not be melted. When he was silent and calm, he was almost detached from the world, as if nothing could affect him in the slightest.
But now, even though Haiby had touched his body, he couldn't help but feel that the female insect's lower abdomen was particularly soft and hot as she kissed him.
“...Sorenlo.”
Haibi had never seen such a scene before. The hand on his lower abdomen did not leave, and he stammered, unable to utter a complete sentence for a long time.
Sorenlo responded softly, and just as he was about to kiss him again, Haiby gritted his teeth, turned his head away, and said what Hillan had told him to say.
“Wait,” he was furious that he had to listen to Hillan, but now that the die was cast, he had no choice but to go. Hibi tried to ignore his racing heartbeat and stammered, “I have something to tell you.”
Sorenlo stopped moving completely, listening quietly, waiting for the male insect to say something to him.
"About the insect eggs, I was actually worried that you would die because of them. More than whether there are eggs or not, I want you to live. I love you, so I can't bear to."
This was the first time Haibi had said such nauseating and disgusting things. He thought he would see Sorenlo's utterly helpless expression, but to his surprise, when he looked up, he saw the other man's trembling eyes.
Haibi fell silent in an instant.
Sorenlo hadn't expected the male insect to say that to him; the indifference and calm accumulated from thousands of surgeries seemed to have vanished completely at that moment.
"Yeah……"
Sorenlos always thought it was just wishful thinking on his part.
He had encountered too many insects over the decades and was originally exhausted from dealing with the backlash from the mental turmoil. But after saving Haibi, he suddenly felt that it didn't matter if he became one of those female insects who trampled on his self-esteem.
He had long been aware of Hibi's naivety and innocence, and that was what he liked about him—Sorrenlo found it special that the male insect, when severely injured, would only try to open its eyes to look at him.
Sorenlo had never seen such a childlike male insect, so eager to be with him.
But after getting married, he found that compared to the times when Haiby depended on him, expected him, and clung to him, she was more often throwing tantrums, to the point that he didn't know what to do.
Sorenlo naturally assumed that he was being presumptuous, overthinking things, and wasting Haibi's time.
So, Haibi actually likes him?
Haibi has already said it all, so he can say whatever he wants without any mental preparation.
He gritted his teeth, "Yes, I like you. I just want you to be with me all the time, but you never seem to have any time for me. I'm also very dissatisfied with your attitude. When you were taking care of me, you were so peaceful and gentle, always going along with me. Now you're always so grumpy. Can you smile? Can you? Is it so hard to smile at me? Even though I like being angry."
Sorenloo actually laughed. He didn't say anything, but gently raised his chin and kissed Haiby's lips, silencing him completely.
Haibi was momentarily out of breath, her eyes widening as she was guided to carefully examine the other's body, touching its softest parts.
Haibi's mind went blank, and its tucked tail hook unconsciously came out, swinging and swaying behind its tailbone before finally curling into a circle.
Sorenlo seemed to sense the male insect's reaction, reaching out to hold it in his palm. The scales on its tail hook were smooth and slippery, with a distinctly cool touch.
Compared to the coolness of the tail hook, Sorenlo's body was extremely hot. After kissing Haibi, he slowly lowered his head, gradually leaning closer, and rested his forehead against Haibi's brow, speaking in a low and gentle tone.
"Good boy/girl."
In an instant, Haibi's entire body turned red, and its tail hook was tightly wrapped and twisted.
The night passed in a flurry and haste. Haibi was like a fledgling that had never been before, being led into a warm nest.
He seemed to have truly found his place and snuggled into the female insect's embrace.
The next morning, Haibi was personally taken to the reformatory by Sorenlo. He stood under the cabin door, a corner of his long trench coat was lifted, and the morning light shone on him, making his bare face and skin radiate a thin, transparent glow.
He took Haibi's words to heart, and his originally melancholy and calm face softened.
“I’ll message you often,” he said, his tone unchanged from usual, but his attitude much softer. “Can I pick you up from school when I’m less busy?”
Haibi was extremely satisfied. Thinking of the female insect's performance last night, he couldn't help but want to let out his tail hook and swing it to express his joy, but he still held back, proudly raised his chin, and turned to leave.
"Okay, okay, I'll wait for you to pick me up."
When Haibi and the others saw Hillan again, they excitedly went to him to give feedback, "What you said really worked! My queen taught me how to make him have children yesterday, and we did it all night."
Hillland thought he had accepted this level of normal conversation, but when he suddenly heard these words, he couldn't help but want to throw his ears away.
“Well, in the future, you shouldn’t be so direct about intimate topics with the Queen,” Hillland took a deep breath. “So, are you planning to have a baby?”
After hearing this, Haibi became hesitant and said, "It would be nice to have one, but it's okay if we don't."
This bug is already troublesome enough; another one will only distract Sorenlo!
We'll talk about the baby insects later.
Thinking about it, Haibi seemed to remember something. He leaned closer to look at Hillan and couldn't help but ask curiously, "I saw you kissing your queen yesterday. Is this how you two always get along?"
Miao Che leaned closer, equally curious, "What? What?"
He was really curious and kept asking Haibi, "What's their dynamic like?"
Hillland and his female lord have a really good relationship; they spend all their time chatting on their personal computers.
Hibi scratched his head. "I think Hillland is a lot like a dog. Yesterday I saw him go and kiss his female mate. When his female mate petted his head, he went over and rubbed against her. All the dogs I've seen do that, wagging their tails at their owners. It's really like that..."
As the conversation progressed, Hai's voice grew softer and softer. In the end, he listened tremblingly and looked away guiltily.
Hillland's eyes widened in shock.
A puppy?!
Does he look like a dog?!
Hillland recalled that he did indeed like to rub against Sersia. When his head was being patted, he didn't think at all and subconsciously moved his head closer to let the female insect pat him.
Is it because it looks like a dog?
Hillland had never thought about this before, but it was also easy to understand. After all, he always adored Sersia, and there was nothing he could do about it, since Sersia was just so cute!
"If it's like using a dog, then that's going too far."
The criteria for a dog to be cute are, after all, being well-behaved and adorable. Every time a puppy wags its tail, its butt seems to have a motor installed, with its short tail swaying back and forth. When it runs over, its body sways back and forth, and it lies down at your feet, hooking onto your trouser leg and refusing to let go. It will also gently bite you to express its affection.
Big dogs are the kind that are fierce, but they will sit down and lick your palm gently. They have a very stable demeanor, and when they get enthusiastic, they can be incredibly charming.
Hillland pondered for a moment, his ears turning increasingly red as he thought about his recent performance.
Okay, he really is Sersia's little dog.
If I don't chat with Sersia and give her kisses and hugs, I'll just die instantly.
Muche didn't understand what was so interesting about insects acting as dogs. He just felt that Hillland and the others looked completely different from how he acted. Even though Muche had never seen Hillland and his queen interact, he could tell some things from Haiby's description.
"I don't understand."
Mouche patted Lippers on the shoulder. "Don't you think so? You wouldn't understand, would you?"
Lippers was chatting with Sanley, and when he heard Muche asking him, he just nodded perfunctorily.
Seeing Lippers's pathetic state, Mouche was speechless. Turning around, he saw Hillland fiddling with his personal terminal again.
Miaoqie: ...?
So you're going to go find the female ruler right away?
Hillland didn't look for Sersia. He was very busy today. After dropping him off here, he went to White Bow Star, the location of the accident that was frequently mentioned in the original storyline, and a place Sersia often traveled to in order to find clues.
He glanced at their chat history several times. Most of it was him sticking bugs, and Sersia would occasionally share what she was doing with him. However, Sersia would disappear for a while when she was busy, so it seemed like it was Hillan making a fuss.
Hillland scrolled through the chat history, pondered for a moment, and then sent a message to the other party with sparkling eyes.
Hillland: Baby, baby.
Sersia did not reply.
Hillland put down his personal terminal. He knew Sersia would reply to him; it was only a matter of time. So he didn't pay much attention to whether she replied instantly. When he looked up again, he saw a few insects doing their own thing. He waved and went for a walk by himself. He studied as he strolled around, and the day passed quickly.
Sersia didn't arrive on time to pick him up this time. He found a particularly secluded underground base. Because he was busy looking for clues, he didn't have time to check his personal terminal. The darkness around him blurred his sense of time. It wasn't until the timer reminded him that he needed to pick up Hillan.
He sent a message on the personal terminal that he was late, then got up, threw the biotin in his hand back into the freezer, and gestured to his subordinates to put them away.
"I've sent you the route. Move these things out first, and I'll deal with them later."
Biotin is generally used for military purposes, and its function is to maintain the basic vital signs of female soldiers. However, there is a base here that is too suspicious.
Sersia lowered her eyes. "Remember to trace the source of the research materials."
After saying that, he took the box next to him and left.
When Sersia came to pick up Hillan, it was already 6:24 PM, about 20 minutes late.
But Hillan, who was waiting outside, didn't seem angry at all. He sat obediently on the steps, and when he saw Sersia arrive, his eyes lit up, and he ran over with a smile and kissed him on the cheek.
"You've come to pick me up!"
Sersia was a little embarrassed. "Mm."
He handed over the box, which contained bright crystals, a specialty of White Bow Star.
"As a gift," he said softly, "open it and see."

Author's note: I've decided what to write next. I'll start working on the synopsis.
I really like it. There's a 12-year age gap, and the younger one is the dominant one, but in the beginning, they're not on the same wavelength and seem to love each other alone.
