Chapter 39 Tone of Speech Can I pick you up today?

Chapter 39 Tone of Speech Can I pick you up today?

They were almost at the hatch when they both stopped and stared at each other in silence for a long time.

Sang Li hadn't expected this moment to come so quickly. Even though he was prepared to be honest with himself, he couldn't help feeling flustered and nervous.

Sang Li's eyes trembled, and she looked pale and frightened, like a very pitiful little animal.

"I……"

Sang Li was speechless.

Lippers knew he shouldn't make such a request on their first meeting; it seemed far too hasty.

But does it matter?

It doesn't matter.

No matter how badly Sang Li's wound is treated, it won't affect his decision to marry her.

Lippers, unsure how to react, couldn't help but laugh. "Nervous?"

Sang Li pursed her lips and remained silent, as if she had already silently expressed her refusal.

Lippers also fell silent, lowering his eyes calmly.

Perhaps he was going crazy, trying to use this method to sober himself up, and also trying to use this method to recklessly test the other party's bottom line, even though this was not entirely in his best interest, after all, he could not be sure whether Sang Li's feelings for him would allow him to show himself without reservation.

Lippers meant no harm, nor did he think Sandri would agree. He was prepared to let the matter pass by lightly, but Sandri's next move left him stunned.

Sangli raised her hand, her face clearly showing embarrassment and dazedness.

He mustered his courage, his pink eyes trembling slightly, as if he had already thought it through, but he still couldn't muster a calm demeanor. His face flushed, and he stammered, "...I, I'll show you."

Lippers was stunned.

He suddenly felt it was absurd, but remembering that he was the one who made the request, Lippers fell silent again.

He really wanted to know.

Sangli placed her hand on her face. There weren't many insects coming and going in the hovering area, only occasional breezes that made her platinum blonde hair flutter slowly and gently.

Sang Li took off her mask.

His face was small, and the scar covered half of it, running from his cheekbone to his forehead. Its shape resembled an irregular maple leaf, covering his left eye and completely swallowing up the liveliness of that eye.

Lippers was speechless. For a moment, he could even recreate his original appearance: beautiful and clear-eyed, with a moonlit and elegant look in his eyes. His perfect eyes had long, thick eyelashes that were the same light color as his hair.

When Sang Li blushed, it was especially noticeable and beautiful. Even though the scar would be distorted and twisted because of his expression, its presence was weakened by his gentle and beautiful appearance.

Lippers said softly, "It's beautiful."

Sang Li was speechless. He reached out and touched the scar. It looked like a twisted, writhing worm. It seemed to wriggle with the slightest movement. It was also much more fragile and sensitive than normal skin. It would itch easily, turn red, and look unsightly very easily.

He lowered his head, fidgeting with his fingers nervously. Sang had imagined how Lippers would react: suppressing his nausea, or expressing his disgust and dislike outright, or more likely, wanting to teach him a lesson for being in his way.

After all, this is the male insect.

But Sanli didn't expect this answer. She didn't dare to look at Lippers for a long time, her mind a complete mess.

"Me..."

Sang Li only moved his lips slightly, unsure of how to react, his voice so soft that he could barely hear it himself.

Lippers hummed in agreement.

"Yes, it's you."

For no reason at all, Lippers always thought that whatever Sandri was like was reasonable.

Perhaps he doesn't care what Sang Li looks like.

Lippers slowly reached out, his warm fingertips stroking the overly soft and uneven skin.

“Sanley,” Lippers met his gaze and said, “Relax a bit.”

Lippers's hand was long, and the place where Sanli had been touched felt tingly after he left.

His eyes trembled slightly, and he held the mask somewhat helplessly, unsure whether to put it away or put it on.

As Lippers was about to turn around and board the spaceship, he seemed to sense something and saw that Sanley was standing there without saying a word. Instead, he directly grasped Sanley's hand and said seriously, "I'll take you home."

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Sanli tightened his grip and hugged Lippers tightly from behind.

“Lippers,” he said, his teeth chattering, “I…I’ll go home with you.”

Lippers fell silent for a moment. It took him a long time to remember how to answer. “I think I should tell you that my home is in the slums. That’s not a place for you.”

Sanli is the son of an arms dealer, but after being injured as a child, his mother never let him touch these dangerous things again.

He was raised to be erudite and also very simple-minded, the opposite of Lippers.

Thinking of this, Lippers tightened his grip on Sanli's hand, but without causing Sanli any pain.

Sang Li immediately regretted her impulsiveness, but was quickly embraced by Lippers who had turned around.

"I'll ask you out again next time."

Lippers laughed, released Sanli, took a flat box from his pocket, and placed it in Sanli's palm. "A small gift. I learned to make these in my craft class with my friend. He loves making these for his queen."

After Lippers finished speaking, he released her hand.

Sang Li held the box, unsure of what to say, her ears turning red inch by inch.

They didn't speak for the rest of the journey. Sanli kept holding the small gift Lippers had given her, wanting to open it and take a look, but she managed to hold back.

When I went out to play, it felt like a long time, but when I went back, it felt like a very short time.

When Sanli arrived home, Lippers looked at him with a smile and said, "See you next time, and remember to get some rest."

Sang Li kept turning back to look at him, and when they reached the door, he stopped. "Next time... when is next time?"

Lippers pondered for a moment, "Tomorrow?"

Sang Li suddenly opened his eyes wide. He didn't say anything and went inside, but sent him a message on his personal terminal.

Sang Li: Okay.

Lippers saw this, couldn't help but laugh, and then let out a long sigh of relief.

So far, things are going quite smoothly.

Meanwhile, Sang Li returned to her villa, mentally prepared herself for a long time, and then slowly opened the box.

Inside lay a diamond bracelet. The color wasn't bright, but rather sophisticated. It looked beautiful wrapped around the wrist, adorned with irregularly shaped small diamonds, all with well-groomed edges to prevent scratching the wearer.

Sanli carefully wrapped the bandage around her hand and then sent the photo to Lippers.

Sang Li: It's beautiful, I like it.

Lippers replied to him quickly.

Lippers: Well, it's okay, I can bring you some every time we meet.

After sending the message, Lippers put the personal terminal away and returned to his lounge in the correctional facility.

The next day, Hillland returned to the correctional facility at the normal class time. He arrived early, and the other three insects were not in the classroom. It wasn't until it was almost time for free time that the male insects came in one after another.

The last one was Lippers, and Haiby was extremely excited, "So, so, did you sleep with Sang Li last night?"

Lippers shook his head honestly, "No."

Miao Qie slammed his fist on the table, vehemently disagreeing, "Are you even a male?! If you're a male, just say so if you like it!"

Lippers had his own ideas: "No rush, let's take it slow."

Miao was frantic. "What a lousy person!"

Hillland wasn't surprised. "Things about relationships don't happen that quickly."

Miao Qie glared at him defiantly, "Why can't you hurry up? You're so slow and indecisive! I'm so angry! I want to develop my relationship with my lord faster, but he keeps avoiding me! I'm so angry! You guys don't know how lucky you are!"

Miaoqie kept pestering Ximo to chat more.

Hillland was curious why he was so angry. "Let me see what you sent to your queen."

Miao Che showed them the chat history, "Quickly judge this, how come you failed so badly at sticking bugs? How did you guys even stick bugs? It's so annoying!"

Several male insects went over to look, but after a few seconds, they all fell silent.

Miaoche: Answer me! Why aren't you saying anything!

Ximoduo: I'm busy, sorry.

Miaoqie: Who gave you permission to be busy? Come and talk to me! I miss you so much!

Ximoduo: I'm sorry, my lord, I really don't have time.

Miaoqie didn't reply. Several hours later, Ximoduo took the initiative to send a message.

Ximoduo: My lord, are you still there?

Miaoqie replied after a while that he wasn't there. This continued for the next few days, until finally the two insects stopped talking altogether, until Ximo finally replied after half a day.

Ximoduo: My lord, are you angry?

Haibi was greatly shocked. "I often see you and your queen chatting enthusiastically. I didn't know it was this kind of enthusiastic chatting."

Miao Qie protested indignantly, "I didn't hit him or scold him, but he always treats me like this. I'm so angry. I take the initiative to chat with him, and this is how he treats me. It makes me so angry."

Hillland sighed, offering no explanation, and simply said, "You and your queen send a message back."

Miaoqie stood up and plopped down next to Hillan. "What are you sending? What are you sending?"

Hillland pondered for a moment, then said, "Yes, I'm angry!"

Miao Qie obediently did as he was told.

Ximo didn't reply for an hour. When Miaoche saw this, he hurriedly patted Hillan, who was pretending to look at a knitting manual, and said, "He replied, he replied, how can I reply?"

Hillland straightened his glasses, which had been knocked askew, and leaned closer to take a look.

Ximoduo: I'm sorry, I've failed in my duty, my lord. You can punish me however you like.

Hillland looked up at Mouche, who was even excitedly handing him his personal terminal.

"Help me check, help me check."

Hillland gave him a brief analysis: "Your female ruler is probably more afraid of making mistakes than many insects. You always express your emotions with high spirits and directness, which is good, but you need to be more specific. For example, 'I'm really angry. I don't want to study anymore after a whole day. I want to see you.' If you speak too vaguely, your female ruler won't know what you're doing and why you're angry. He's not good at coaxing insects, and he speaks honestly and directly."

Hillland thought for a moment and said a few words, "Don't just express your emotions, you also need to express your thoughts and your needs for him."

After all, this is very important.

After talking with Hillland for half an hour, Mouche finally understood. He started sending more messages to Ximo, and the phrase "I want to see you" hovered on his lips for a moment before he swallowed it back down.

Damn it, I don't want to let Ximoduo get off so easily!

Miao Qie quickly sent a message.

Miaoqie: I can't talk to you anymore, I need to meet. When is that possible?

Ximoduo happened to be there on the other side. Upon seeing the message, he couldn't help but sigh deeply.

During this time, he was still unsure of what was wrong with Miaoqie, which made him anxious and afraid of offending Miaoqie by saying something unpleasant.

It's still coming, isn't it?

Ximo raised his hand and rubbed his temples. His body had recovered a lot, but he had to go on a business trip the day after tomorrow, and he hoped that the male insect would go easy on him.

Ximo typed an extra line of text.

Ximoduo: Can I pick you up today?
