Chapter 37 Meeting You in Person, Hello
As if she had anticipated his request, Cecilia gently stroked Hillan's chin with her fingertips, then lowered her head and kissed him, leaving a soft touch on his lips like a dragonfly skimming the water.
"Go to sleep."
After saying that, Cecilia gently patted him as if holding a cat in her arms, "Do you need me to comfort you?"
Hillan felt less embarrassed. Being treated so purely by Sersia made him feel incredibly shy. He sat up slightly and couldn't help but kiss Sersia's cheek several times. "Never mind, I can sleep by myself. Otherwise, I really won't be able to sleep."
Hillan's eyes gleamed with a clear light. He loosened his grip slightly, held Sersia in his arms, and fell asleep peacefully.
The exam officially began on the second day. Hillland's original appearance was no longer suitable, so Sersia brought him some disguise tools. With just a few adjustments, Hillland's appearance underwent a dramatic transformation.
"Don't forget your name is Michel."
Sersia was helping him put on the exam bracelet when she slowly raised her eyes, and Hillan's image was clearly reflected in her icy blue eyes.
Hillan felt like a schoolchild, nodding with sparkling eyes, then waved to Sersia, "Brother, remember to pick me up at noon."
Sersia was slightly taken aback by the way she was addressed, then chuckled and softly hummed in agreement, "I know."
Hillland waved to him and followed the other examinees into the Satell Research Institute.
Both the written and practical exams are conducted here, but not inside the research institute. Sattel has set up a special building for the exams, and other places are guarded by insects, preventing unauthorized insects from entering.
A tall female insect looked at the towering buildings in front of her. Not far away, some staff members passed by. After seeing them verify their identities and go inside, she said enviously, "I wonder how long it will take to become one of them. Once you get in, your whole insect life will be worth it."
"Yes, many female insects, regardless of whether they love this line of work or not, are desperate to get in."
Hearing the envious voices around him, Hillland suddenly felt a sense of returning home.
Regardless of background or race, the yearning for excellence is the same.
Hillland sighed, found a seat, and sat down, waiting for the exam to begin.
Two and a half hours passed quickly. When Hillland submitted his answer sheet, he was still a little unaccustomed to taking questions online, after all, he had been taking written exams a few months ago.
As soon as Hillan emerged, some of the insects burst into tears, huddling together in despair. "It's over. We'll have to fight again in the next batch. I won't give up! At least let me get the qualification certificate, right?!"
"This is my sixth time taking the test!!! Please, please let me pass, please let me pass!!!"
Hillland saw several insects huddled together discussing answers. A female insect, entirely black, walked silently down the corridor, wearing a hat, her expression one of annoyance and disdain.
Hillland glanced at it and then looked away. After leaving the examination hall, Sersia was waiting at the door. After picking Hillland up, he didn't rush home, but instead took him to the newly opened hotel on the main star to relax.
Upon arriving at his destination, Hillan saw these familiar business models and immediately thought of the main couple he had completely forgotten about.
"They're really efficient," Hillan said curiously. "What stage are the main couple at?"
After a moment of contemplation, 99 said, "The seme is probably experiencing his first love. He is a gentlemanly, career-driven, and domineering CEO. The uke has already realized his own feelings and helped the seme when he knew what the seme wanted to do. It wasn't just a simple act of giving; he negotiated with the seme about dividing shares and profits, and he was almost unwilling to budge an inch. The seme admired this kind of uke and chose to give up some of his share."
Concessions are inevitable, given the difference in status and the limitations imposed by male insects. Furthermore, an insect that manipulates power is unlikely to be driven by romantic feelings.
After all, the main characters are a couple who love each other but also scheme against each other. Their entangled interests bind them together, and the emotions generated by their clashes and push-pull dynamics lead them to fall in love.
"Both main characters are very proud and unwilling to bow down easily. The seme was a domineering CEO before, and in the original plot, he planned to use the uke to fight for power and profit."
The system really liked this couple, and it talked endlessly about their relationship, making it sound wonderful. "In the original world, the male lead was a cunning old fox, the kind who only cared about interests and not feelings. When he came to the Zerg social system, he originally planned to become a powerful figure in the alliance, someone who would participate in politics. In the end, he chose to become a noble male Zerg and began to focus on building his own business empire. The highest level of power he possessed was in the business world, where he held a leading position. He didn't participate in politics."
Hillland raised an eyebrow. "In my opinion, he probably felt that it wasn't a good thing for male insects to have a voice in this context. After weighing the pros and cons, those powers don't seem so important anymore."
The main reason is probably that the two products have become one, and when people are in love, they also need to consider each other.
The system grunted, "So the top recommended the bottom to sit firmly on the throne, and the bottom helped him step by step to a position similar to his own."
Hillan got hit.
Indeed, a situation where two equally matched individuals are suspicious of each other yet mutually beneficial is quite enjoyable.
He and Sersia should just stay together and not try to keep up with the protagonist's progress, otherwise it will lower their happiness level.
"I also want to make Sercia very satisfied and happy."
If Cecilia wanted the throne, he would fight for it.
Hillland made his stance very clear.
Sersia had no idea what his humans were thinking on that short stretch of road. He had heard that many different shops and snack stalls had opened here, so many that he had never seen them before, so he decided to bring Hillan along to take a look.
"Let's eat first. Is there anything you'd like to eat?"
Hillland was genuinely unsure what to eat, but when he saw the hot pot restaurant, he blinked and pulled Sersia to call their number.
There were so many insects inside.
Hillland called out the number and came out with the female insect. He quietly told 99 to keep an eye on things for them, and 99 happily agreed.
Hillan was a little hungry, so he bought some simple snacks and strolled around with Sersia.
"Actually, this entire commercial city is a replica of the one in my hometown."
Hillland inserted the straw into the bubble tea and fed the first sip to Sersia. "Try it first. If you like the flavor, we can buy more when we come back, or we can have the robot bug deliver it."
Hillland ordered hot with 30% sugar. Pearl milk tea doesn't need to be too sweet; a light touch of brown sugar is just right.
Sersia quickly understood what Hillan meant. She was somewhat taken aback, but still took a sip first.
It has a very strong flavor, not just a light milk tea base, but a very rich roasted aroma. It's not too sweet, and the hot milk tea makes the flavor even smoother.
Hillland usually calls this kind of bubble tea "real bubble tea." She took a sip and was very satisfied. "It tastes better than the ones I bought back home. Actually, I think the test of a bubble tea shop's skill is just how well they make the bubble tea."
Sersia smiled slightly, and Hillan began to talk at length about the delicious snacks from their hometown.
After chatting for a while, Hillan felt a sense of homecoming, but quickly realized that she was in the Zerg, and subconsciously sighed, "I really want to take you back to my home."
Just as it was time to say the next sentence, 99 quickly relayed the message, "It's almost your turn! It's almost your turn!"
Hillland immediately sat up straight. "Come on, come on. I don't know if hot pot suits your taste, but it's really suitable for a get-together. I can make many different kinds of soup bases. If you like, I can make some later and we can cook it at home."
Hillan felt really at ease and excitedly went in with Sersia to experience it.
Sersia had never eaten such strong-flavored food before, but she couldn't deny that it tasted quite good.
Hillland hadn't eaten hot pot for a month, but when she finally got to eat it, she almost cried.
It's a familiar taste.
"I want to take you home even more now."
Hillland took a few bites and suddenly blurted out, "I want you to see my old home and school."
Sersia didn't speak, but just looked at him quietly and attentively, slowly saying nothing, but it was as if she was saying he was happy to.
Hillan was instantly struck by the attack and, for some reason, quieted down, slowly eating with Sersia.
After coming out, he took a breath of the fresh air and turned back to take Sersia's hand.
"Is there anywhere you'd like to go? We can go check it out first."
It seemed like this was the first time Hillan had gone out shopping with Sersia and done things that ordinary couples do.
He looked around, his eyes shining. "Let's go to the pottery studio. We can make a water cup for each other. Do you know how, baby?"
When Cecilia saw the pottery shop that Hillan pointed to, she said gently, "No, but I'd love to try it with you."
Hillland's ears turned bright red from the anger.
There were a lot of bugs here, but luckily there was still one seat available when they went in. The waiter bugs came and tidied up, and they sat down in the partitioned seats.
The partitioned spaces offer a high degree of privacy and are not stuffy; when you're huddled together, time seems to slow down.
Sersia took out some clay blanks. He had a steady hand and started shaping them while listening to the service insect's explanation. Hillan was very simple. He just threw the clay blanks onto the turntable with a thud and started carving with a carving knife.
Sersia's lips curled into a slow smile at his gesture, while the waiter next to her laughed.
After deciding on the desired shape, Hillan began to sculpt it.
He first shaped the cup into a round shape, then lowered the height. He then began to shape the cup's handle, which resembled a fluffy cat tail, but instead of a regular cat's ear, it curled in a way that looked like a small hook.
Hillland planned to make a cat-shaped water cup with its belly open. After shaping the tail, she narrowed the round cup body and then shaped a lump of clay to form the cat's head and paws.
Hillland was very talented; he could make the two insects present feel the spirit and charm of the sculpture with just a simple shaping.
The waiter was stunned.
Sersia is very handy. He originally wanted to make a cup with a dog's head, but after seeing that Hillan had made a design, he thought about it carefully and made a cup with a dog's face rubbed flat. It was lying cutely in a ball, with half of its face rubbed flat.
When Hillan saw the shape that Sersia had created, he almost made a mistake while sculpting the cat's face.
Damn it, why did you make it so cute?
He really thinks he's that cute in Sersia's eyes!
Hillland squeezed the kitten in her hand even more tightly, making it even cuter. She worked on it for two hours before finally finishing. The rest of the kitten was left here to be fired by the shopkeeper.
They played for a long time before going back. When they went to bed that night, as soon as Hillan lay down, he rolled over next to Sersia and clung to her like an octopus.
Sersia felt a strong sense of being entangled; the human was holding him tightly, then clinging to his cheek.
Sersia was already used to Hillan's stickiness. She turned around and, facing Hillan, said nothing, but gently kissed him.
Hillan felt that Sersia's body was very hot, and his palm slowly slid down to cover her slender and strong waist.
Sersia gently pulled away from his lips, her eyes lowered, the heat of her breath almost making them lose their senses.
"Should we do it?"
Hillland paused for a moment, still unable to accept Sersia's directness, and leaned forward to kiss her, "Do it..."
He was about to pull Sersia into his arms when she pushed him back onto the bed with one hand. Caught off guard, Hillan fell backward and sank back into the soft mattress.
He lay on the bed in a daze, Sersia blocking out most of the light source, her face backlit and tinged with a hazy hue.
“Sercia…”
Hillland wanted to ask what was wrong, but before he could finish speaking, Sersia kissed him. The skin between his waist and abdomen began to feel very hot and burning, and strands of her hair kept falling on his cheek, bringing an irresistible ticklish sensation.
Sersia was very proactive.
After realizing Cecilia's thoughts, Hillan blushed and slowly raised her hand, using her arm to block the light source.
Sersia's panting sounds slowly escaped her lips, intermittent and weak. Hillan couldn't bear this torturous action any longer and was about to get up when the female insect kissed his lips, pinning him to the bed and rendering him unable to move.
After the control of the rhythm was handed over, the experience also changed dramatically.
Hillland was truly difficult to describe. Slow, sluggish, and perhaps even like a spell.
No need to think about it.
Definitely, they've all turned red, a whole lot of them.
Sersia's eyelashes were slightly damp. Hillan took his hand and they intertwined their fingers, and he could feel the warm sweat on his skin.
Hillland raised her hand and slowly brushed his hair behind his reddened ears.
"The baby did very well."
Hillland got up and took the somewhat exhausted female insect into his arms. Sersia, having ingested too much pheromone, rested her head on Hillland's shoulder in a drowsy state.
He seemed too weak to speak, and only gave a hoarse "hmm".
Hillan suddenly felt like he was holding a baby, and for some reason, he opened his mouth and gently bit the tip of Sersia's ear, making Sersia frown uncomfortably.
"It hurts a little..."
It's like a kitten being affectionate.
Hillan was charmed, his eyes brightened, and he smiled and kissed the tip of Sersia's bitten ear.
"Cersia is such a good girl, can I hug you like this?"
Hillan nuzzled his cheek with the tip of his nose, and Sersia curled up and snuggled into his arms, then stopped moving and remained quiet.
Hillan gently patted his back, as if to lull him to sleep, allowing Sersia to slowly drift into a deep sleep.
Once the other person's breathing became even, Hillland gently tucked Sersia into the blanket. Because she was afraid of waking Sersia, Hillland moved very slowly and took out an anti-swelling ointment from her usual drawer.
He sat on the edge of the bed, carefully lifted the blanket, first helped clean it up, and then concentrated on applying medicine to the female insect with a cotton swab.
As expected, it became much more popular.
I was trying too hard, and I was always tense.
Hillan put away the ointment, washed himself, and then lay down to sleep next to Sersia.
He was very relaxed, so he fell asleep quickly. The next day, no one wanted to get up to cook, and they stayed in bed until 7:30 before washing up and leaving.
When Hillland returned to the correctional facility, he saw two insects, Mitchell and Haibi, chatting on their personal computers with smiles on their lips. They were clearly in love, a stark contrast to their initial state.
Lipper isn't here; she's obviously gone to meet up with someone, but we don't know how it went.
When Mouche saw him, he greeted Hillland, "Good morning, we were just talking about you."
Hillland, somewhat curious, sat down opposite them, then adjusted his glasses and slowly asked, "What did you talk about me about?"
Haibi excitedly said, "We were talking about when you and your queen will lay eggs. You two have such a good relationship. We were even discussing whether you'll take the day off again to stay with your queen."
Muche didn't think there was anything wrong with the topic. "It's so annoying. Simole is always busy and never has time for anything."
"When I get back, Mino won't even recognize me anymore. My father won't budge on letting me go back, no matter what."
Hillan was speechless. "I don't have any plans to lay eggs at the moment."
Mouche made a few "oh" sounds, not finding anything wrong with Hillland's decision. Suddenly, she thought of something and chuckled, "Want to guess whether Lippers will be back tonight or tomorrow?"
Hibi slapped the table. It was free time, and there weren't many bugs around. Without hesitation, he said, "I'll definitely be back tomorrow. Judging from how he's been acting with Sangli lately, Lippers must really like Sangli."
Muche was displeased. "Everyone knows about Sang Li's facial injury! I don't think Lippers is the kind of insect who doesn't care about appearances!"
Hillland was also thinking about it, though it was a bit impolite to discuss it.
"Actually, I don't think whether he stays or not means anything. If he really likes her, he might let Sang Li go home earlier out of respect."
The Zerg have no concept of subtlety. Miao Che stared wide-eyed, finding it somewhat incomprehensible. "If you like it, just do it. If you ask me, the more you like it, the more you should do it. Make sure the female Zerg can't live without it. If you're too respectful, the Zerg will think that the other party doesn't care at all."
Haibi nodded in agreement.
Hillland suddenly laughed, and the two male insects, as if suddenly realizing something, froze and slowly calmed down.
“But I’m really curious,” Hillland said, resting his chin on his hand. “Have those two insects met yet?”
On the other side, Lippers was dressed in a white shirt and black pants, a look that would never go wrong. Compared to the female insects, he was at most above average in appearance. His features were fine, but not particularly outstanding. Fortunately, he had a good temperament and figure, looking tall and refined. In particular, his light blue hair made his skin look fair and clean, which was very pleasing to the eye.
He waited at the entrance of the manor, next to a new series of spaceships that Sangli's father had given him as compensation. Sangli had been on her way after receiving his message.
Lippers lowered his head and waited quietly.
His communication with Sanley was solely through written communication; Lippers had neither heard Sanley's voice nor seen his face.
As time went by, Lippers' heartbeat grew heavier and heavier.
He couldn't help but recall Hillan's words—what should he do if the other person's burns were so severe that they melted away their facial features?
That makes perfect sense, with such a huge reward and such generous compensation.
So what if the other party is a monster?
Lippers calmly thought that it was enough that Sanley, whom he was chatting with, was very talkative and excellent; he still had many things he wanted to know from Sanley.
As he was thinking, a shadow fell on the ground in front of him, and then a gentle, shy voice rang out, with a clear stutter.
"Hello, Lippers."
The female insect's beautiful, pale pink eyes looked at him, like a beautiful crystal. When she saw Lippers, she trembled slightly with nervousness.
“I, I am, I am Sang Li.”
