Shi Jinzhe sat up from the small single sofa, and the system, too, became wary.
"When are you going to take a shower? I can't wait."
Sher sat on the bed, holding a hawthorn in her hand, her words filled with the excitement of a meal. If Shi Jinzhe could see her eyes, he thought they would be sparkling.
He took a change of clothes out of his suitcase: "Let's go now."
"Hurry up."
"OK."
Even the most luxurious bathroom in a train is nothing special; without Sherlock Holmes saying anything, he didn't want to stay in there any longer.
Schech sat on the edge of the bed, only opening the curtains a crack. The car window was fogged up, and it was pitch black outside.
She turned off the individual lighting, leaving only a small bedside lamp on.
After two minutes, feeling bored, Sheikh began to draw long wavy lines on the window with his index finger, and then wrote his name on them.
She had almost drawn a snake on the glass, then unlocked her phone and started playing something else using voice input.
Ten minutes later, the sound of a door unlocking came from inside the carriage.
Shekh got up and rushed over, the humid heat enveloping him, and when his face touched hers, broken droplets of water dripped onto his face, as if he had been drenched in rain.
The steaming bathroom door was closed, and Shi Jinzhe turned around. She climbed backward and fell onto the bed. Her clothes were torn open, and the skin on her neck sank in.
The dim bedside lamp cast overlapping shadows on the wall beside the bed. His neck was being supported, and Shekh's thumb pressed against his bent jaw, pushing his fingers upward to expose more of his neck.
The blood rushing through the veins is rapidly drawn in, the heart contracts faster, and beats more rapidly.
As her skin rubbed against hers, Shekh felt as if something was about to crash into her heart. She moved her palm down and touched the slightly bulging skin.
It seemed to be jumping even faster.
Shi Jinzhe pressed her hand down without saying a word.
"Can't I touch this?" Shekh had a hand pressing down on him, so he had to press down hard with his palm, grinding it over the spot.
A short gasp reached her ears. She lifted her head from the broken neck of Shi Jin, blood still dripping from the corner of her mouth.
Are you feeling unwell?
Shi Jinzhe remained silent.
Seeing that a drop of blood was about to drip from the corner of her mouth, he quickly flicked it back with his finger.
The finger bone scraped across the skin, bringing with it the flowing red marks, and sent them back to Shekh's lips.
When she turned her head to lick back, Shi Jin withdrew his hand and pressed down on the hand that was still pressing against her chest.
"It jumped a little too fast."
"Because the heart needs to provide pressure to supply blood," Shi Jinzhe answered methodically.
"But even though I'm not sucking blood anymore, it's still so fast."
"This is after-sales service for the heart, it will be delayed for a while."
"Can your blood clot a little longer?"
"I don't know, you can take a look."
Shekh buried his face in his neck again, and seeing that the bleeding had stopped, he sighed regretfully.
Dissatisfied with the slightly drooping head position, she shifted her body downwards and leaned her head against Shi Jinzhe's body.
The soft sleeper bed was only so wide that half of Shekh's body was squeezed into the narrow gap between him and the wall.
"Can we switch to another bus after we get off tomorrow? I saw some sightseeing routes on my phone that offer better sleeping experiences,"
She stretched out her arm, hooked her phone on the table, and showed it to Shi Jinzhe: "Look."
"A Five-Star Hotel on the Move," "A Luxury Tourist Train," and "The Vintage Orient Express"
Several headlines were bolded and enlarged, full of sensationalism, followed by several pictures.
The brown-toned luxury train has a retro feel reminiscent of a 19th-century steam train, and a semi-transparent sightseeing carriage has been specially added for tourists.
This five-day, four-night journey is designed specifically to enjoy the sights along the way. The vehicle can only accommodate 74 tourists, and its price is as high as its features.
Shi Jin swiped a few times on the screen and clicked on the ticket purchase link next to the ¥ symbol.
"Unfortunately, this car is currently unavailable. If you order now, you'll have to wait three months. Why don't you look at other options?"
Sher turned the phone screen and saw that the spot Shi Jin had pointed to was indeed gray. Disappointed, he turned his head back and faced the wall.
Shi Jinzhe kept switching pages to look at other recommended items: "Want to look at something else? I'll get you a passport after we get off the train tomorrow, then we can go whale watching. Now is the best time for whale watching."
"What whale?" Shekh replied uninterestedly.
"Blue whale, the largest creature ever to have ever existed on this planet."
Shi Jinzhe paused for a moment, then said, "But it's not as big as your original model."
"How long will it take?"
"About a week. The country is visa-free. The main thing is that we have to wait for the passport to be issued. We can stay in this city where we stop tomorrow for a few more days. It's not so cold here. You should like it."
Sher moved the hand that was resting on his chest. He regretted not having a proper view of the sea on Azure Island last time.
"Are we going on one of those boats again? One of those big white boats with many decks?"
“It’s different, but I’ve never been on a boat to see whales either. I’ll only know what they’re like if I see them with you.”
Shi Jinzhe felt numb on one side of his body from being pressed down by her contorted posture, so he moved to the side and lay down on his side.
Shekh pressed his body against the bed, his body following his head, and turned to the side, still facing the wall.
She naturally pulled over the artificial phone holder behind her and looked at it with her broken hand.
The azure sea, the colossal grey-blue vessel, the drifting open-air yacht—it's a little bit tempting.
Shi Jinzhe: "We have three byes in this game. If we use all of them, we can play for two months. We have plenty of time. If we can't see it once, we can see it several times."
Shech kept typing, noticing different whales in the photos. Pointing to a group of long-snouted fish leaping out of the water, she said, "Why is this one so small?"
"This is a dolphin. I've heard that people who see it will have good luck."
"And this one, why does it have so many bumps on its body? It doesn't look very nice. Does it hurt?"
"It's swimming slowly and has been infested with barnacles. It leaps out of the water to wash these things away."
"Can we all see it?"
"It depends on luck."
"Then it seems you don't have this."
The two people's voices were neither too loud nor too soft, and they were mixed with the sounds of pedestrians walking outside the carriage, making them somewhat inaudible.
As she watched for a while, Sher's raised elbow gradually relaxed and fell to her waist, and Shi Jinzhe's hand, which she had been holding, was now wrapped around her from behind as if she were embracing her.
He shifted his gaze from the phone screen to Sheikh's face, able to answer her questions without looking at the phone.
The gaze was too obvious. Sher looked up slightly and found that Jinzhe's eyelids were lowered and his eyebrows and eyes cast a shadow under the light, looking at him directly.
"Not asking anymore? Is there anything you don't understand?"
"You'll only know when you get there."
Shera pulled the blanket up, feeling a little more excited about the next few days. She turned off the small light, plunging the carriage into darkness, with only a sliver of white light shining through the crack in the door.
