Shekh spent the day at the hotel catching up on sleep, and the next day, before the sun had completely set, he went to the beach to wait for the movie to start.
The hotel's dessert table wasn't far away, so she grabbed a piece of cake and found a seat in the last row.
After that, about ten more guests arrived and sat in the first few rows. There weren't many people. Once the hotel was more than half full, the lights on the beach were turned off.
Shi Jin asked her, "You haven't eaten all day, what do you want to eat after the movie is over?"
"I don't want to eat seafood anymore, and I don't really want to eat anything bland either. I'm tired of all of these."
"Feeling tired of this, how about something spicy and warming, Sichuan or Hunan cuisine?"
"Anything is fine, I'd like to eat duck stewed with pickled radish."
"Let me see where I can find some nearby." Shi Jinzhe lowered the screen brightness. There were some, but they were all too far away. If they waited until they finished watching the movie to go there, or if they had a restaurant deliver it, the taste would definitely be worse.
"How about we eat something simple today and then go over there to eat tomorrow?"
Sheh stared intently at the curtain and casually asked, "Are there any places over there we haven't explored yet?"
“There is…” Shi Jinzhe coughed lightly, referring to a tourist attraction that he had deliberately overlooked when he took Shehe out to play last year.
Sheikh: "Where?"
"Mount Qingcheng".
Shi Jin took a piece of her cake with a fork, a blatant attempt to divert attention.
At that time, he couldn't understand why he deliberately skipped that place. Now it seems that he probably had an unspeakable thought in his subconscious.
"Is it mountain climbing?" Shekh didn't quite understand.
"I heard it's quite easy to climb, not difficult at all. Do you want to go?"
"Go ahead, I've never tried climbing a mountain before, but if I can't walk, you'll have to carry me." Shehe handed all the cake trays in her hands to Shi Jinzhe. The cakes were a bit too sweet, and she had had enough. If Shi Jinzhe wanted some, she could have them all.
"There's a cable car; you can ride it if you get tired."
"Can't you carry me on your back?"
“I can carry you, but I want you to experience something different.” Shi Jinzhe placed the tray on the empty space next to him and leaned closer to Shehe. “Climbing mountains involves climbing stairs, but it’s not very convenient to carry you in public places. I’m easily distracted and afraid of falling.”
"You don't have to think about this."
"The feeling is right there, how could I ignore it?"
The two spent every day together, so they didn't feel embarrassed to talk about certain things. Shekh casually brought up old grievances, "So you only carried me on your back once, when we first entered the library, is that because of this?"
Shi Jinzhe didn't get a reply for a while.
“That doesn’t count. I didn’t feel safe putting you behind me back then.”
Shekh turned his head to face him, expressing his speechlessness: "Do you think I'd bite you from behind?"
"I have thought about it that way." Shi Jinzhe wrapped his arms around her neck and pulled her closer to him, teasingly adding, "And you did bite me quite a few times afterward."
Shekh gave him a disdainful shove, "If you don't like me biting you, you don't have to force yourself."
"I like it, I like it." Shi Jinzhe emphasized twice to show his loyalty, "Why don't you bite me now?"
Sher noticed his arm tighten around her, unsure which sensitive spot he was hitting, and turned her head away from his kiss, saying, "Watch your movie."
Shi Jinzhe looked up at the screen, which was showing a Dutch romance film. He had never heard of it and had no idea what it was about.
"Tell me the plot; I haven't watched it."
"You've been affecting me, but I haven't been watching."
"Since we haven't watched the whole show, I guess we won't understand the rest either. Why don't we go back to the hotel?"
"Time will come and it will end."
Shekh really wanted to slap him across the face, but before he could raise his hand, he heard him ask, "Don't you want to?"
"Then you still have to watch the whole movie."
"Alright then." Shi Jinzhe had no choice but to continue watching the movie. After watching for more than half an hour, he belatedly realized that he understood the plot of the movie.
A blind, withdrawn boy and a sensitive, albinism-stricken girl fall in love while spending time together. However, when she learns that the boy's eye condition may be cured and he will be able to see his true face, the girl runs away.
Because of the scars on her face and the fact that she was a few years older than the boy, she did not have the red hair and green eyes she claimed to have. She was not outstanding, and was even quite ordinary.
She was very insecure, so she ran away, despite the boy's repeated attempts to persuade her to stay.
The film's color palette is somewhat somber, a filter characteristic of Western European countries, which, combined with the sound of the waves, creates a slightly melancholic atmosphere.
The audience was completely engrossed in the film. Shekhov spoke to Shi Jinzhe, "Do you think she'll come back?"
"I don't know. Inferiority complex is a difficult psychological emotion to overcome. She doesn't believe in the love in fairy tales, and she doesn't believe she can have a beautiful love. The female lead has a relatively realistic personality. I guess she won't come back. What about you? Do you think she will come back?"
"No way, she doesn't want the male lead to see her true self. No matter how sweet his words are, once his eyes are healed, all the feelings that are built on fantasy will shatter. Many people can't accept the reality. Rather than facing unpredictable consequences, it's better to leave behind a perfect illusion."
"It seems we thought the same thing; she won't come back."
“Because what she left behind was a virtual version of herself. If it were real, there would be no need to be afraid.” Sheh leaned casually against Shi Jinzhe, her leg pressed against his thigh. “You see, even the female lead in the movie doesn’t want to face her real self. She doesn’t even love herself, so how could she possibly believe that the male lead loves her?”
"You're becoming more and more knowledgeable; now you can even analyze people's emotions."
"I already knew it, otherwise who would you be?"
Shekh got annoyed with him in waves, always spouting nonsense, "Can't you analyze what I like about you, your body?"
"I really like it," she readily admitted.
Shi Jinzhe chuckled softly but then swallowed it back, striking a pose as if he didn't care, "You really are after my body."
"Stop pretending." Shekh felt there was nothing more to watch in the movie, so he pulled Shi Jin back.
