Shekh yawned lazily, got off him, and sat on the narrow chair: "Should we go grab some food?"
“Yes,” Shi Jinzhe stood up, leaning against the wall, letting his sore and numb legs rest for a few minutes, then stomped his feet and straightened up.
I quietly pushed open the fitting room door. Tiny dust particles swirled in the beams of light streaming through the skylight. The mist thinned, and I could vaguely see the sun outside.
They walked slowly out of the store, and after making sure no one was around, the two cautiously headed towards the security checkpoint.
Shi Jinzhe walked through the security checkpoint and said, "Yesterday we knew there were 14 deaths. In the worst-case scenario, assuming no one else dies, that means 136 people are divided among 6 locations. At least 20 people will be fighting for each location. I can't beat them all, so I'll go fight for it while you attack the others."
"What if there are people from the same faction? Should we keep them?"
"Get rid of anything that's in my way of getting the supply crates." Shi Jinzhe checked the magazine and cocked it with a click.
It's getting closer and closer to 8:30.
The gate sign overhead indicated that they were more than 600 meters away from the refresh point, making it one of the farthest gates in the terminal.
The waiting hall was deserted, but the absence of people did not mean it was safe. Even without Sher's prompting, Shi Jinzhe could smell a faint stench of blood.
This is just the closest spawn point to him; there may be others even closer than them, so we can't be careless.
After walking another fifty meters or so, traces of blood splatter appeared on the seats on both sides of the hall.
Below several rows of seats, Shi Jinzhe saw the dismembered bodies of about a dozen ground crew members, all of whom were local residents.
The wound was clean, but the skin and flesh at the edges had shrunk due to loss of moisture, and the blood had oxidized and turned black, indicating that the person had been dead for some time.
The humming sound of the vibrating steel pipe came from under the seat diagonally opposite. Shekh suddenly shoved him forward, deflecting the blood-stained iron axe that was hurtling towards him.
A disheveled man in a tank top sprang to his feet, retrieved the spinning axe, and leaped over from the nearby chair.
Shekh released his hand: "You go first."
She hadn't eaten enough when she came in, so Shi Jinzhe had to get her some food.
"Be careful." After giving the instructions, Shi Jinzhe swallowed the speed-up pill and ran towards the expected boarding gate.
When the man with the iron axe saw that he was about to run away, he immediately changed his target and threw the axe again.
Shekh grabbed his raised hand from behind and swung him away, smashing the stainless steel bench so hard that it dented and collapsed.
The man was thrown around, his head was covered in blood, and he was seeing stars when he was lifted up again.
He was thrown out again by Sheikh and landed on a soft body.
Beneath him, a bald man who had tried to launch a sneak attack was crushed by the powerful pressure of the large, living person falling from the sky. His internal organs were almost burst, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood.
As Shi Jinzhe approached the refresh point without hindrance, a young man suddenly jumped out of a security checkpoint and threw two corn bombs.
Two sharp bangs rang out as the pistol accurately struck the young man's body.
Despite his relentless efforts, he walked through the white smoke from the bombs, only to be met by a girl with pigtails.
Her smug expression faltered when she saw the young man who had collapsed behind her, but she quickly regained her composure.
With a flick of her wrist, she twirled a dagger behind her back, and the girl flashed a sweet smile. "Brother, I..."
Pfft—
Before she could finish speaking, the blade of the butterfly knife pierced her neck.
Because of running, the force of the knife pulled her neck, causing a gash.
As Shi Jin stepped past the girl's corpse, a scream echoed from behind him.
The four players who had been lying in wait were all dealt with, but the number of players arriving from the perimeter gradually increased. After seeing two people petrified by Shekh, the group dared not attack head-on anymore.
Throwing the dying human hammer into the crowd, the axe-wielding man played his final role, only to be crushed to death by Sheikh in a suicide attack.
A skill card fell out of his body, and the restless crowd immediately began to scramble for it.
"How come it's a skill card that enhances strength by 30%?" The person who grabbed the card pulled out the scissors that were stuck in the temple of the person next to him and casually threw the card away.
[Attention all players, the countdown to the resource spawn point is 30 seconds.]
The countdown heightened the tension dramatically. Someone stepped onto a stainless steel chair, attempting to pass over it, only to be struck in the chest by an axe thrown by Sheikh.
The discarded skill card was picked up by another player. Compared to the skill that reduced his own presence, he preferred the one that allowed him to fight.
He stared at Shekh, who was blocking Shi Jin's path, and said sourly, "Hmph, a man should have strength. What kind of skill is it to hide behind a woman!"
He lifted a row of stainless steel seats, and his attack was directed at Shekh.
The dark blue corrosive liquid penetrated the seat. Shekh stepped back a distance, blocking the attack with one hand, while a large amount of corrosive liquid began to flow down his other hand.
The other players vying for the supplies split into two groups, flanking her from the left and right sides to avoid seeing her face directly.
[Countdown has ended.]
The instant the system notification ended, a 24-inch iron box appeared out of thin air on a chair ten meters away from Shi Jinzhe.
He scrambled over several rows of seats, and just as he was about to reach the iron box, an iron axe slammed down at his feet, stopping him in his tracks.
Immediately afterwards, several sparks flashed from the box in front. The shotgun from the game store was incredibly powerful, pushing the metal box several meters forward and embedding it under the seat.
The person who fired the shot was hiding in the crowd. He gave the man who had switched to the power card a mocking smile and said, "Fool, hiding is the way to go."
After loading a bullet about the thickness of a thumb, the shooter aimed at the metal box again and fired.
Shekh's hands were dripping more and more corrosive liquid. She changed positions and let everyone pass. Amidst the chaotic footsteps, more than twenty people sprinted towards Shi Jinzhe.
Everyone thought that such a large iron box couldn't possibly be carried away by one person alone. As long as the scene was chaotic, they could always get a share of the spoils.
Shi Jinzhe dodged the first player rushing towards him, fired a shot, and out of the corner of his eye caught Sheh's movement trajectory, allowing the shotgun-wielding player to shoot the box further and further away.
The heavy metal box disappeared from sight. Someone lay on the ground, trying to crawl under the seat to reach the box, but ended up getting into a heated fight with the person behind them.
The translucent glass divides the waiting hall into two sides, one dark and one light, and the moist corrosive liquid reflects a semi-circle on the glossy floor tiles.
Shekh stood on the outer edge of the circle, placing his palm on the ground and letting the dark blue corrosive liquid seep into the surface.
With a loud bang, the people scrambling for the food staggered to the side, suddenly feeling the ground beneath their feet shake and sink for a moment.
