Chapter 543 A Wrongful Conviction with No One to Repay the Debt (2)

Everyone heard what Boss Sun said about giving Shi Jinzhe and Shehe 303. Now, rooms 302 and 304 have become highly sought after, and everyone wants to stay in these two rooms, which has led to the conflict.

Boss Sun laughed so hard she could barely carry all the things piled up in her hands. She understood; they were all trying to curry favor with the two who had just come upstairs, weren't they?

She picked out the gold bracelet she thought was the most valuable, picked it up, and asked, "Whose is this?"

"Mine!" came the reply from a woman in a black business suit named Gu Li.

Mr. Sun handed it the key to room 302, saying, "Yours."

Gu Lixin happily accepted the key, but just as she was about to go upstairs, she felt a direct gaze on her from behind. She turned around warily, but the people on the first floor were still fighting over the key and no one was paying attention to her.

She looked around but didn't see anyone else on the first floor.

Or is it just my imagination?

After much deliberation, Gu Li returned to the group, regardless of whether players were watching her or not, she couldn't afford to be separated from the main group.

Aside from her, Shi Jinzhe and Shehe already had rooms. Of the remaining thirteen people, nine were women and four were men. Some had formed teams, some were alone, and some were too lazy to wait, so they directly asked for a room key and went upstairs. Some even fought over who became roommates.

The key to room 304 was taken by a short-haired girl named Xue Ge. Gu Li wanted to ask her to join her, but then she found that Xue Ge had gone to find the man in the gray shirt. Only then did she realize that room 304 was taken by the two of them together.

The best spots were all taken, and the rooms on the third floor were all snapped up, so the other people didn't care much about the rooms on the back.

Gu Li hid in the crowd and went upstairs. When she got to the third floor, someone approached her and asked if she could stay together, saying that they could give her a prop.

Gu Li scrutinized the female player who called herself Xiao Yun. She was dressed very fashionably, but there was something strange about her. She made too many small movements, always adjusting her skirt or hair, and she kept trying to link arms with Gu Li and get close to her. Her eyes were like detectors, scanning Gu Li from head to toe. If anyone else passed by behind her, her eyes would drift to the other players.

Gu Li didn't want to be alone, but she also felt unsafe sharing a room with someone who behaved so strangely, so she refused.

She only ran the third instance and she already knew to be wary of people. Doesn't this person know about safe distances?

Gu Li pulled her arm away. "No need, I'll live on my own."

"Hey, no..."

Seeing Gu Li enter the corridor, Xiao Yun, who was standing in front of the doorway on the third floor, tightened her lips.

In the dimly lit corridor, the muscles around her mouth pulled downwards, causing the shadows on the lower half of her face to appear patchy.

Most of the other players had left, but Xiaoyun was still clutching that thin key. She lived in room 106, which was a really bad room number; it was the last room on the first floor.

With the thought of giving it another try, she went down to the third-floor corridor.

The room in room 301 was occupied by a male player named Ding Xun, who was the one who pretended to be mute when he first met Boss Sun. From the moment he entered the room, he kept the door tightly closed and the curtains drawn. Xiao Yun knocked on the door several times, but Ding Xun ignored her.

Gu Li, who lives alone in room 302, was checking the room without drawing the curtains, ignoring Xiao Yun.

Xiao Yun watched for a while, then realized that she didn't even glance at her, and left with a sullen face.

Further ahead is 303, the door to this bedroom was also tightly closed. Xiaoyun had no hope for this room. It was a double room, and the owner was a rumored mysterious big shot. She couldn't handle it.

As Xiaoyun walked past the door of room 303, she was surprised to find a gap in the curtains. For some inexplicable reason, a very strong thought came to her mind.

I just wanted to take a quick peek...

Xiao Yun followed her heart and slowed her pace, lowering her head slightly and cautiously peering inside out of the corner of her eye.

In the dimly lit room, the first thing that catches the eye is Shi Jinzhe's back. The folds of his clothes on his back are stretched horizontally by his two arms. His hair sweeps down to the right as he tilts his head. An arm reaches up from the gap between his upper arm and body, with fingertips resting on his shoulder. There are shallow veins protruding on the back of his hand.

Xiao Yun couldn't help but look up, and then she saw a pair of eyes that shone with a lustrous purple light.

Shekh was looking at her through the window, maintaining the position of tilting his head back to kiss her, only half of his face was visible, and the radial patterns in his round pupils changed suddenly like a kaleidoscope, his gaze fixed on her without any warmth.

They've been seen!

When Xiaoyun came to her senses, Shekh's pupils had already turned vertical. Feeling uneasy under his gaze, she hurriedly lowered her head, not daring to look any further. Ignoring the fact that she hadn't asked about the three rooms behind her, she turned around and went downstairs.

She walked quickly, her footsteps clattering. Shech moved her fingers on Shi Jinzhe's shoulder, and the curtains closed completely, shutting out the light.

She pushed him away, her body trembling. "Intimacy doesn't affect one's mind, and there's no indication of it triggering lust. Xiaoyun's antics are just plain stupid and driven by a strong voyeuristic desire. That shop might not be some kind of hint; I think there's a deeper reason."

“…Maybe you were just too scared.” Shi Jinzhe pulled her back again. “A person who can swallow their pride to survive will do anything. If you weren’t particularly afraid that she couldn’t run away, what did you do?”

"It all depends on her."

"Just for viewing?"

"I couldn't do anything else while you were holding me, so I just scanned her profile and system inventory. Maybe my eyes were glowing when I was scanning."

"He has poor mental resilience."

As Shi Jin turned his hand back to turn on the light, his fingers unexpectedly touched something wet, soft, and slippery.

He immediately turned around. He and Shekh had checked the room and there was nothing wrong. What was that thing just now?

Shekh: "What's wrong?"

Shi Jinzhe turned on the light and looked back. "There was something behind me just now. Did you sense anything else in this room?"

"No, I separated this space out separately, and there shouldn't be any forces other than yours or mine here."

Sheh released black-gold mist from her palm, filling the entire room with energy. She carefully observed it but found nothing amiss.

Shi Jinzhe looked at her and asked, "Did you notice anything?"

"Are you sure you're not mistaken?"

“No, I did touch something wet and slippery, it felt like…” Shi Jinzhe frowned and thought for a moment, then said, “like the soft flesh inside your mouth that covers your fangs.”

Shekh covered his mouth. "Don't use such a strange description."

"This is more accurate." Shi Jinzhe opened the door. "Since we can't find it inside, let's go outside and look around..."

"Go to the county?"

“No…look at this.” Shi Jinzhe stepped aside to show Shehe the corridor outside.

The third-floor corridor, which was perfectly normal just moments ago, now resembles a bloodshot eye, with fine red veins densely covering it and crisscrossing as they extend into the walls.

The sky outside was blood red, and the entire corridor was as red as an old-fashioned iron stove that had been heated to a high temperature, creating an oppressive and strange atmosphere.

"Hey, are you guys going to eat or not?!"

Suddenly, a shout came from the second-floor stairwell. Her voice carried up to the top, and Sher blinked, and all the strange things in front of him disappeared, as if they had never existed.

"This is…"

"You didn't see wrong." Shi Jinzhe affirmed before she even asked, "We all saw it, this building will change."

Shekh: "It's still daytime, and they dare to cause such anomalies. These players won't have an easy time tonight."
