Within the thorny thicket.
The Queen appeared in the Tower of Faith early in the morning, and before she even left the tower, the joyous atmosphere of the city reached her.
Amidst the clamor of voices, the Queen stepped out of the Tower of Faith and stood on the outer railing, looking down.
After observing for a moment, she asked the guard beside her, "Why are there so few fewer patrols in the city?"
The guards dared not answer; they had just smashed those mysteriously appearing stone statues that morning, so how could they explain it?
As she hesitated, a hidden array appeared beneath the queen's feet.
Shi Jin sat in a small house near the Tower of Faith, and after trying for a long time, he realized that he could not extract the Queen's life force.
“Blood lock…” He confirmed his idea.
Even if Shekh felt guilty, she wouldn't be foolish enough to give up all her power. The Queen was able to take away her divine power, so someone must have been helping her behind the scenes.
Shekh is the true supreme being in this world; no one is more powerful than her. Furthermore, the Queen's health is locked, which makes it possible for her to achieve this…
Only games.
Shi Jinzhe clenched his fist tightly. The game had as many two-character cards as there were abilities. In terms of attacking Shekh alone, it wasn't bad, but the game could completely win through sheer numbers…
Besides the fact that the resurrection would utilize Mu Bai's abilities, there was also the fact that the system could read each player's thoughts and ideas in their minds. After obtaining Li Huaizhen's [Mind Reading] card, he understood the reason.
Not to mention other time-based, space-based, and summoning-based...
With the game's involvement, everything finally makes sense.
Based on past experience, the game will only target someone if that person is a threat. But if that's the case, why did it guide itself to bind with Shekh in the first place and repeatedly do Shekh favors?
Important, yet threatening...
Shi Jinzhe instinctively felt uneasy and decided to abandon the original plan to let Shekh absorb the power of the wall and go find her first.
As he stepped outside, he adjusted his gaze to examine the Queen and saw that she had purple eyes just like Shekh's.
Counterfeit.
These two words immediately jumped into my heart at this moment.
She really took away what belonged to Shekh.
The counterfeit was perfectly legitimate, but Sheikh, having been deceived, had no choice but to wear that black ribbon tightly every day, hiding his eyes all the time.
The tightly bound emotions burst forth with resentment, creating an unclosable breach, and the long-suppressed anger found an outlet. He now desperately wanted to do something, even if it was a blind and irrational outburst.
Shi Jinzhe took several deep breaths, suppressing his anger as he tried to rein it in, and then turned to find Sheh.
The issue of invincibility is a big problem. He thought about it from another angle: if the game had helped the Queen seize Shekh's power, its primary goal would definitely have been to limit Shekh.
Sending Shekh back this time, and helping the Queen for the second time, suggests that the game intends to weaken her again. Even if it's not a weakening, it certainly won't be a good thing.
Thinking of this, Shi Jinzhe started running quickly. The wall had blocked the black mist many times in the past few years. The outer wall of the capital city had cracks. Protection does not mean that the wall will be safe forever. Although there are no cracks here yet, the black mist had just attacked before they came. If Sheh absorbed it all back, even a tiny bit of residual black mist could cause an accident.
He chose to take the busier route, since running people on the side paths were more noticeable from a higher vantage point, so he figured it was better to just take the main road.
On the way, he met a man who greeted him. Shi Jinzhe recognized the man; he was a resident who had moved from Frozen Harbor, a believer in the god of war and glory, and a gossip who loved to ask about everything.
He asked ingratiatingly, "Is the messenger in such a hurry because something's wrong?"
Shi Jinzhe glanced at him, then took the wheat from the man's hand. "Yes, the Queen has arrived."
"The Queen is here? What brings her here?"
"Want to know?"
The man nodded repeatedly and pulled Shi Jinzhai a few steps toward the roadside, saying, "Please tell me quickly, I promise I won't say anything false."
"Alright, I know you're the most discreet person, I'll only tell you one person." Shi Jinzhe asked meaningfully, "Want to know why the Queen was able to move the heavens?"
The person trusted Shi Jinzhe, who could conjure flowers at will, and replied, "Of course I want to!"
“Because the Queen betrayed the God of War and Glory, she has always worshipped the God of Harvest and Rain. Otherwise, where would all this food come from?” Shi Jinzhe patted his shoulder, drew out his words, and whispered in his ear, “This secret is only for you to know. You must never tell anyone.”
"How is that possible..."
The man was still somewhat skeptical.
"Why not? Do you know that the Queen sacrificed her own child to ensure you could eat the best food, sending him to the god of harvest and rain?"
Shi Jinzhe straightened the wheat in his arms without changing his expression, "How touching!"
Leaving the incredulous residents behind, he disappeared into the crowd without looking back.
If a queen can take revenge on the gods for her children, then it's not a big deal for him to add a story to his wife's tale.
The child is indeed innocent, and Shekh is even more so.
He didn't care about being despicable or shameless; he just wanted to stab the Queen in the wound once more.
The grain was obtained by the queen through the sacrifice of her own child, praying to the god of harvest and rain...
The news spread like wildfire throughout the streets and alleys. No one cared about the child; people only cared that the Queen had betrayed their most faithful faith, and that she was unforgivable.
Where did the news come from?
The Queen's knuckles were white as she leaned on the railing, and she didn't even notice that several of her fingernails were broken.
"The investigation is still ongoing."
“Find the person and hand them over to me.” She then asked, “What about the person who claimed to be my messenger?”
"Looking for..."
The Queen turned her head slightly and said, "You knew I was coming but didn't catch anyone beforehand. Go and become nourishment for the Tower of Faith."
The stone railing beneath her hands shattered with a crack. Ignoring the pleas for mercy, she only heard the mechanical voice in her head telling her that the two people were near the skeletons, in the southeast direction.
The Queen was taken aback by the bluntness of the answer; she looked over, her gaze heavy.
She knew that what was in her mind was using her, but it didn't matter. As long as she could get revenge, she was willing to be a tool.
The Queen left the Tower of Faith and resolutely headed in that direction.
Meanwhile, at the skeletal remains in the southeast, Shi Jinzhe and Shekh successfully reunited.
