The white wall exuded cool air, and when Schech was too close, he felt his body slowly cooling down.
She moved a little further out and slept in the middle of the single bed.
After lying down for a few minutes, I heard a new conversation coming from upstairs.
After the masked woman finished showering, she asked her roommate if she had seen her black cat. Her roommate casually replied that she hadn't noticed.
As they talked, the two started arguing, especially the roommate's accusations.
She complained that the masked girls brought a cat to the team-building event, as it shed fur all over her and kept meowing at night, disturbing her sleep.
The masked woman said, "If you don't want to, you can just tell me. This is the second time already. What if it gets outside because it's so small?"
"How do I know you don't understand polite words? If I said I didn't mind, would you really bring them? Didn't your parents teach you how to distinguish between polite and unpleasant words?"
My roommate said sarcastically, "Ah~ you didn't even thank them this afternoon, I guess your family really didn't teach you that."
The two argued for a few words, and then a door slammed shut.
The masked woman upstairs started meowing softly in the corridor, mimicking a cat. After a few meows, her voice faded as she moved elsewhere.
Amidst the imitation cat meow, a real sound broke in; Shekh heard something scratching at the door from outside.
Sharp claws slashed again and again, and a shrill cry came from the lost black kitten, which kept meowing.
She called out to Shi Jinzhe, who was washing up in the bathroom, "The cat is by the door, go and take care of it."
"Right away." Shi Jinzhe came out of the bathroom, stood in the doorway, and asked Shehe, "Is there only one cat outside?"
"right."
Upon receiving Shekh's reply, he opened the door, and the little black cat, which had been pouncing on the door, missed its target, and landed on Shi Jinzhe's broken shoes with its legs spread apart.
At the other end of the corridor, a beautiful young girl ran over, her smooth black hair all disheveled.
Shi Jinzhe frowned slightly. At this distance, even if he didn't open the door, the girl could still find the cat.
Did Shekh not hear?
Did they still not take the girl's arrival seriously?
The girl ran to the vicinity of the entrance to apartment 403, but before getting close to the door, she waved to the little black cat at the door: "I heard you calling, little one, come to Mommy quickly, be good."
The little black cat meowed twice, trying to crawl into the house, but Shi Jinzhe picked it up and handed it to the girl.
The girl, who wasn't wearing a mask, took the cat, turned and walked away. After taking two steps, she turned back before Shi Jinzhe closed the door and said, "Thank you this afternoon."
After saying that, she picked up the cat and quickly walked towards the elevator, her eyes filled with vigilance, as if Shi Jinzhe were some kind of criminal...
Shi Jinzhe closed the door, went back into the room, and asked Shehe, who was lying on the bed, "Do I look like a bad person?"
Shekh swept him up and down; only one button was undone more than when he was dressed in the daytime, and the hem of his clothes was hanging loosely, a bit casual, but nothing wrong with it.
She shook her head; it didn't seem like it.
"You can't tell good from bad just by looking at them, so your question is pointless."
"Alright." Shi Jinzhe turned on the bedside lamp, sat back on the edge of the bed, and asked her, "Did you hear that girl coming over outside just now?"
When Shi Jinzhe asked this question, Shekh himself realized that something was wrong.
Since the girl had already come over, why did she keep turning back to open the door?
It only takes about ten seconds.
Sheikh lay on his pillow and began to recall the events that had taken place from the afternoon to the evening.
When she first entered the fourth floor in the afternoon, she felt that there was no problem with this floor and that it was very safe.
The fruit in front of the control room was moving automatically without wind, and sometimes it would break open, which was found to be abnormal. After asking around several times, everyone said that there was a problem on the fourth floor.
Why didn't I notice anything unusual, and why was I so slow to react?
Shekh listened intently to the sounds upstairs, but there was no sound of a door opening; the masked woman hadn't returned to her room.
Shekh then listened to the rooms on the left and right sides and found only faint voices.
She knew they were talking in the next room, but she couldn't make out what they were saying.
I could hear what was above, but it felt like my ears were blocked to the left and right.
Expanding her sensing range, Sher discovered that she could neither hear nor see clearly on the entire fourth floor; she could only barely sense a portion of it.
"I may have overlooked something."
When Shi Jinzhe asked her several times if she had noticed anything unusual, it's possible that she hadn't, but rather that she hadn't heard him.
The soapberry tree on the door is the best evidence. In a closed corridor, no one touched it, so how could it move by itself for half a minute?
If something moved, then there must have been something by the door at that time, and perhaps without her knowledge, that thing was observing her and Shi Jinzhe.
Schech sat up in bed. "Something in the hotel affected my judgment of danger."
"Won't you feel uncomfortable?" Shi Jinzhe thought of her unusual behavior on Azure Island.
Back then it was hypersensitivity, now it's sensory dullness. I wonder if Sheikh is feeling unwell again.
Shekh: "No, I feel no discomfort at all."
She can detect any discomfort immediately.
"I felt like my body told me as soon as I entered this place that it was safe."
Schechter savored the experience for a moment, then said as if reminiscing, "And I also felt a sense of lightness, very pleasant and relaxed..."
As she spoke, she leaned over and rested her chin on Shi Jinzhe's shoulder from behind, saying, "It feels a lot like sucking your blood, I really like it."
I have no comment on the statement about bloodsucking.
"As long as you're not feeling unwell."
He turned to his side and pressed down on Shekh's arms, making her lie down. "It's time. You should go to sleep."
"And what about you?"
"I'm going to sleep too."
"Then you can sleep outside, I don't want to move." Shekh only moved a little bit inside.
The bedside lamp was turned off, and an extra pillow was placed on the outside of the blanket, causing the bed to sink.
Two tall adults slept in a single bed, shoulder to shoulder, and Shekh's body temperature gradually rose.
She held his hand tightly under the covers, and only after they were completely pressed together on the same pillow did she reveal her purpose: "Can I take a breath now?"
"Is it really just one bite?"
"Yes, my sluggish state is not good for you. I can't predict if there's danger, but maybe letting me take a breath will be the best solution."
Time was running out and he remained motionless.
It's true that for the sake of a mouthful of blood, even straightforward people start to resort to underhanded tactics.
"Silence means consent."
Shekh opened his mouth close to his neck, his jaw snapping open in fright.
Shi Jinzhe made no comment; Shehe's words were simply her twisted sense of humor.
If she really wanted to suck blood, she wouldn't be so slow.
He's been scarebed every few days, and he's completely lost interest, like the boy who cried wolf.
Shekh shut his mouth in disappointment.
No matter how scared Shi Jinzhe is now, she no longer feels the fear she had when they first met; her joy is gone.
Shi Jinzhe: "Taking a couple of small puffs is fine."
In less than a second, her happiness returned.
Pulling aside the folded collar, Shekh skillfully began to drink blood.
After only a few sips, she felt dizzy and unsteady, as if floating in the air, her soul seemingly leaving her body, and she desperately needed to pull herself back to her senses.
Shekh retracted his teeth in a daze; something was wrong with his state.
Without the infusion of blood, only half of her soul returned to her body, leaving the other half empty.
It's very spacious.
She seemed to have developed an unquenchable longing.
Shi Jinzhe's blood seemed to have been given a lot of stimulants; she liked it, but wasn't addicted.
There's definitely something wrong with this feeling.
The overwhelming desire caused Shekh to turn around and turn his back on Shi Jinxi.
