25. Half a month later
Cheng Boyan picked up the box containing the female vibrating massager, then found a black plastic bag and put the box inside.
Half an hour later, Cheng Boyan arrived at Wen Xueyan's house.
"Come in." Wen Xueyan stepped aside.
He gently placed the black plastic bag he was carrying on the ground, then his gaze fell on Wen Xueyan's knees, which were covered by her pajamas: "Is your knee injury healed? Have the bruises on your legs gone?"
Wen Xueyan felt a warmth in her heart: "You're almost fully recovered."
No sooner had he finished speaking than Cheng Boyan closed the door behind him, pinned her against it, and pressed his warm lips against hers.
The kiss came unexpectedly, carrying the chill of the autumn night.
"Hmm," Wen Xueyan said, "why don't you come in first? Why are you in such a hurry?"
Cheng Boyan stepped back slightly: "Weren't you in a hurry? If I hadn't delivered it, you said you'd go buy another one right now."
He bent down, picked up the bag, and handed it to her. "The outer cardboard box was damaged, so I put it in a black bag so no one can see it."
"It's okay if you see it." Wen Xueyan took the bag.
But when she saw that the item inside was a vibrator, her ears immediately turned red.
"I didn't buy this!" she said.
Cheng Boyan's eyes held a faint smile: "Isn't that right? These women's products definitely weren't bought by me."
Wen Xueyan remembered seeing this vibrator in her shopping cart before, so she took out her phone.
When she saw the hairdryer still in her shopping cart, and the order page showing the item she had mistakenly purchased, her face turned bright red.
"I wanted to buy a hairdryer," she explained incoherently. "This morning my hairdryer broke, and I couldn't dry my hair after washing it. I wash my hair almost every morning."
Cheng Boyan chuckled softly, "So that's how it is. I was wondering why you were in such a hurry."
"It really was a misunderstanding." Wen Xueyan punched his shoulder, but he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms. His thumb gently caressed her delicate wrist, bringing a tingling sensation.
Cheng Boyan's fingertips touched her burning earlobe again: "Okay, okay, it was a misunderstanding."
"The client called just as I placed the order," Wen Xueyan said, giving him a reproachful glare. "Why didn't you tell me on the phone that I bought the wrong thing?"
"You bought this," Cheng Boyan released his hand, "What am I supposed to say? Am I supposed to say, 'Xueyan, the massage stick you ordered arrived?' I already reminded you and asked if you chose one with different speed settings. I didn't realize a hair dryer had different settings."
Wen Xueyan glanced at the clock; it was almost ten o'clock. "It's so late, why don't you stay here tonight?"
Cheng Boyan glanced around, his gaze sweeping over the small rented room. The beige curtains, faded from washing, were neatly tied on either side. On the bookshelf, a row of professional books was arranged in an orderly fashion by category.
Although the space is simple, it shows signs of careful maintenance everywhere.
"I'm hungry, is there any food?"
Wen Xueyan turned and walked towards the kitchen: "Would you like some fried rice? I haven't eaten yet."
"good."
The sizzling sound of eggs hitting the pan and the aroma of rice being stir-fried gradually filled the entire space.
In just ten minutes, two bowls of golden fried rice were ready.
That night, Wen Xueyan went to take a shower first. Cheng Boyan sat on the sofa in the living room, his laptop on his lap, reviewing a merger and acquisition case.
Suddenly, Wen Xueyan's phone on the coffee table vibrated. At first, Cheng Boyan didn't look at it. But the calls kept coming in, and he glanced at it. Wen Xueyan had saved the caller's contact as "Stupid Donkey".
After a while, the bathroom door opened. Wen Xueyan came out wrapped in a soft bathrobe.
"Your phone rang several times," Cheng Boyan said. "Someone you saved as 'Stupid Donkey' called you. Who was it?"
Wen Xueyan paused. She had changed that nickname late that night, when she was injured and in so much pain that she couldn't sleep.
"It's Song Tiancheng."
She unlocked her phone, and six missed call notifications were prominently displayed. She opened WeChat, and a message from Song Tiancheng popped up:
"Xueyan, I'm away on a business trip and might not be back for a few more days. I'm really busy."
"Xueyan, I've neglected you for over a year. I've changed my mind. You're not young anymore, so let's have a child when I get back from my business trip. I can give you an extra 2500 yuan a month for household expenses."
"Xueyan, I miss you so much. You haven't answered my calls or replied to my WeChat messages. When will you forgive me?" "Don't be angry, okay? We've been married for a long time and the passion has faded, so I sought excitement elsewhere. I'll write you a guarantee when I get back; I promise I can break up with Su Yunzhu. I can't live without you."
"Do you need my help?" Cheng Boyan asked in a low voice, his keen eyes catching her emotional change.
Wen Xueyan shook her head and exited the WeChat interface. She knew that Cheng Boyan had already helped.
Wen Xueyan was originally worried about how to deal with Song Tiancheng's harassment in the 20 days leading up to the trial. She did not expect that Cheng Boyan would arrange for him to go on a business trip.
It was late at night. Wen Xueyan drank a cup of yogurt before bed. After brushing her teeth, she heard Cheng Boyan standing by the window, talking on the phone in a low voice.
"Attorney Zhang, then we plan to formally file for divorce next month. Make sure you are well-prepared, especially regarding evidence and the share division plan, to prevent the divorce from causing significant fluctuations in the stock price."
She knew this would be a complicated process.
Cheng Boyan hung up the phone.
"Your divorce case," Wen Xueyan began, "will it be very complicated?"
Cheng Boyan gently ruffled her hair: "The capital market is very sensitive to uncertainty. As the actual controller of the group, my divorce proceedings will definitely have a significant impact. Also, Old Master Xu, Xu Dechuan, is a cunning and shrewd old fox."
"Would you get a divorce if I weren't there?"
Cheng Boyan cupped her face in his hands: "Xueyan, you're not a mistress. I only got together with you after I decided to get a divorce."
He gently stroked her cheek with his thumb: "But because of you, I'll speed up the divorce process. Because I want to be with you openly and honestly as soon as possible."
Outside the window, a bright moon hangs high in the sky, its gentle light filling the room.
After Cheng Boyan carried her to the bed, he asked, "Hmm... do you want to use that vibrator you bought now?"
Wen Xueyan shook her head, her ears turning red again.
Cheng Boyan lowered his head, his warm lips first lightly touching her forehead, then slowly moving down to her neck and collarbone, where he left faint red marks...
A few minutes later, Wen Xueyan felt his aggressive intensity that evening, let out a soft hum, and clenched her fingers around the muscles of his arm, which felt as hard as iron...
At night, Cheng Boyan felt Wen Xueyan in his arms move slightly, unconsciously snuggling closer to him and uttering a muffled murmur.
Cheng Boyan suddenly recalled the scene when he first met Wen Xueyan many years ago. At that time, she stood in front of the projector at an industry summit, calmly and clearly explaining the technical solution, professional and confident, even from a distance. And now, she nestled softly in his arms.
Cheng Boyan gently pulled up the thin blanket that had slipped down, carefully tucked the corners of the blanket around Wen Xueyan, and then gently kissed her forehead.
Later, during the period after the breakup, whenever the autumn wind blew and the sycamore leaves began to turn golden, Wen Xueyan would feel that she loved this season to the extreme.
Others might think she prefers the crisp, clear air of autumn, but little do they know that behind this fondness lies a deeply unforgettable emotion—the season when they first fell in love.

More than half a month later, Wen Xueyan looked at the calendar and realized that there was still more than a week before her divorce case was scheduled to go to court.
Cheng Boyan has been busy with business trips lately, and Wen Xueyan hasn't seen him for several days.
In the morning, at the PE project meeting, Wen Xueyan stood in front of the whiteboard and calmly gave her presentation.
Xi Mingyuan, president of Shiming Group, was the first to applaud: "Great! Engineer Wen, your solution has completely solved the problem that has been troubling us for half a year." He turned to President Xu beside him, "President Xu, your company is truly full of hidden talents."
Xu Junhang nodded with a smile. Sun Hanhan glanced at President Xi and smiled as well.
After the meeting, President Xi suggested that Wen Xueyan be brought along for lunch.
As they sat down, President Xi gestured for Wen Xueyan to sit beside him. "Where are you from, Engineer Wen?" he asked casually. "Your technical skills are very solid. Did you study abroad? How many people are in your family? Which district do you live in?"
Wen Xueyan responded, "Mr. Xi, you flatter me. That's exactly what I studied for my master's degree." Not wanting to reveal personal information, she steered the conversation back to the technical aspects, "Actually, the idea for this solution came from a previous HDPE (high-density polyethylene) project..."
At 3 PM, General Manager Xu arrived at Wen Xueyan's workstation. "Come to my office."
In the general manager's office, Xu Junhang said, "The company has decided to appoint you as the deputy manager of the R&D department, with a monthly salary increase of three thousand. There's also a fifty thousand bonus for the PE project. This afternoon, our company finally received the final payment for the PE project."
"Thank you, Mr. Xu." She was already planning to rent a new place sooner.
Back at her workstation, the autumn breeze outside the window ruffled her hair, carrying the fresh scent unique to the harvest season. Then she received another transfer, also for 50,000 yuan, followed by a WeChat message from Cheng Boyan: "Xueyan, this is my project reward for you."
Cheng Boyan was worried that she would refuse again, so he didn't dare to give her more.
When she got off work in the evening, Wen Xueyan walked along the sidewalk lined with sycamore trees toward the subway station.
Just as she was about to reach the subway station entrance, a man in a dark suit blocked her way.
"Ms. Wen," the man said, pointing to the car parked by the roadside, "our boss would like to discuss something with you."
