48 Lost
"Honey, I just love you."
"Song..." Xie Yunjin was naturally unwilling for her to leave so easily, and wanted to say something to keep her, but Song Chiyu had already taken Qi Yanzhou's arm and walked out quickly.
"Teacher Xie, are you alright?" the girl who stayed behind asked with concern.
"I'm fine, thank you." Xie Yunjin's face was extremely cold. "You can go back now."
The girl naturally objected.
Having found enough excuses, he said, "I'll stay here with you, in case you're feeling unwell again..."
"Curse me?" Xie Yunjin interrupted and asked.
"Of course not!" The girl hadn't expected him to interpret it that way, and she immediately became a little anxious: "I'm mainly worried about you!"
Xie Yunjin didn't care about her explanation at all; all she could think about was Qi Yanzhou being held by Song Chiyu and then having his fingers intertwined with hers.
Are they really that loving?
Or was it just an act for him?
But Qi Yanzhou was too good at hiding his true intentions; it was impossible to tell what he was thinking. Even when faced with such blatant provocation, he never argued with him.
He showed no resentment towards Song Chiyu.
I don't understand it at all.
Xie Yunjin tried his best to ignore his provocation, but the thought of Song Chiyu clinging to him and calling him "husband" made him restless.
No wonder they have such a relationship.
Everyone knows where to stab the other person to hurt the most. The only difference is that Qi Yanzhou has her to comfort him, but he doesn't.
The girl next to him had no idea what he was angry about.
I just found that he was not quite the person I had imagined. He was not as calm and reliable as I had imagined, and he was far from having the good temper he had at work.
**
Song Chiyu had been observing his reaction ever since she left the hospital, and only breathed a sigh of relief when she was sure he wasn't angry.
Qi Yanzhou laughed and said, "What are you sighing about?"
"I didn't sigh, I just breathed a sigh of relief," Song Chiyu answered truthfully, "I thought you would be angry."
Qi Yanzhou's smile deepened: "I'm not angry, but I really dislike that he's using you to provoke me. You're already very busy."
It turns out he'd been watching all along, seeing how busy she was. No wonder he hadn't bothered her much.
Come to think of it, it was she who neglected him.
Song Chiyu hadn't expected Tan to be so understanding, and a pang of guilt rose in her heart. She couldn't help but lean on his shoulder and say, "I'm sorry, husband."
Before she even got back, she was already planning how to coax him.
Qi Yanzhou turned his head slightly, his hair close to hers, and looked straight ahead at the road. "No."
Considering he was driving, Song Chiyu didn't lean on his shoulder for too long, and straightened up to ask, "What did you talk about with him just now?"
"Were you eavesdropping outside the door?"
I did hear a little bit, but then my colleagues arrived.
She didn't hear it.
"I heard him ask you what you were laughing at."
“Oh,” he replied with a sudden realization, “I said he was ridiculous.”
"Then what?"
“I told him it’s okay for him to provoke me like this, but he shouldn’t cause you trouble. After all, you’re already very busy, and it’s not right to make you take time out of your schedule to appease me.”
"I'm not trying to comfort you."
Qi Yanzhou glanced at her.
“I really wasn’t lying to you,” Song Chiyu said without blinking, “You are my husband.”
"Have you ever called me that before?" He was quite surprised that she called him Yanzhou on the phone today. Usually, it was either "Teacher Qi" or Qi Yanzhou, always with her full name.
No.
Song Chiyu guiltily looked away, "Did those glasses of yours really cost that much?"
"kindness."
"They really are a good match." Song Chiyu found it hard not to suspect that he was doing it on purpose, but she had no evidence.
“After all, it’s something we use frequently.” Qi Yanzhou recalled when she asked Xie Yunjin about her prescription, and Xie Yunjin immediately gave her two numbers before confirming with her, a faint smile appearing on her lips.
“Indeed.” Song Chiyu nodded in agreement.
"What did you talk about with him?" Qi Yanzhou asked casually. "I think he looked like he had been crying."
He didn't hide anything from her, and Song Chiyu felt embarrassed to give him a perfunctory answer, so she told him most of it truthfully, but concealed the conversation after the teacher in charge left.
"That's it?" Qi Yanzhou didn't believe it. He had gone to great lengths to keep her around just so she would say something so trivial. Her attitude towards Xie Yunjin wasn't as hostile as before; at least she could still share a room with him.
"It's gone."
She didn't say anything, and he wasn't in a hurry.
As if she hadn't noticed anything, she responded gently.
**
Back to the courtyard house.
Everyone had prepared a large table of dishes and were urging Song Chiyu to come and try them. Qi Yanzhou treated her no differently than usual, handing her a pair of chopsticks as soon as she sat down. Even while chatting with others, he didn't ignore her needs, naturally helping her pick up food and handing her napkins.
But perhaps it was because of his state of mind, I felt that his emotions were not right at the moment. He was too calm, as if he was hiding his truest emotions.
After the meal, Song Chiyu wanted to help clear the dishes, but Qi Yanzhou stopped her, saying, "I'll do it. You can rest for a while after you've finished eating. I'll take you home later."
"Alright, sit down for a bit. There are so many people at home, the two of you won't make a difference." Qi Jianguo stopped Qi Yanzhou, casually changing the subject: "Where are you going later, sister-in-law?"
"She has a competition tomorrow and needs to go back to the hotel today," Qi Yanzhou replied.
Song Chiyu hadn't expected Qi Yanzhou to not intend to keep her. She opened her mouth as if to speak, but before the others could give her a chance, Qi Jianguo continued, "Is the competition venue far away?"
"Not far," Qi Yanzhou reported a place name.
"Then why don't you just take her there tomorrow?"
"Do you want to go back to the hotel now or have me take you tomorrow?" Qi Yanzhou suddenly turned to ask after hearing Qi Jianguo's words.
Song Chiyu extended a finger and gently pointed at him.
He raised an eyebrow in surprise: "Won't it distract you?"
Song Chiyu shook her head.
"Okay, I'll take it to you tomorrow."
"What time does your brother and sister-in-law's competition start? Is there anything we need to prepare? Let me see if there will be any traffic jams."
"We should go back to the hotel earlier to meet up with the other colleagues," Qi Yanzhou's suggestion to take her back was actually the most reasonable one, as it would ensure she could compete tomorrow without her colleagues gossiping. However, she sensed that the atmosphere today was a bit off, so she decided to stay another night. "The competition starts at nine o'clock, so we should leave at eight."
“Then let’s go half an hour earlier, I’m worried about traffic,” Qi Jianguo suggested.
While Song Chiyu was talking to Qi Jianguo, she was secretly observing Qi Yanzhou's expression. Qi Yanzhou, unaware of what she was looking at, turned his head slightly and asked, "Why are you staring at me like that?"
"You look good," Song Chiyu replied truthfully.
When he walked into the ward today, he felt that the originally gray room was instantly lit up, and her originally uneasy heart was instantly calmed down, finally welcoming her backbone.
She didn't call him "husband" to appease him; rather, she genuinely believed that only someone like him deserved to be a husband.
Qi Yanzhou didn't believe it, and put away the messy stool, replying, "Alright, go play."
**
Song Chiyu listened to her two cousins-in-law chatting in the hall until nine o'clock in the evening. She noticed that Qi Yanzhou was no longer among the crowd outside the door, and then she walked towards the bedroom.
Qi Yanzhou was not in the bedroom either.
She walked around the yard and asked several people before finally finding him in the study.
He sat at his desk wearing glasses, resting his chin on his hand, staring at the computer screen in front of him. The soft blue light shone on the transparent lenses, making his face appear even more aloof and intelligent.
Song Chiyu's heart suddenly skipped a beat.
He heard the door open, slowly raised his head, saw it was her, and unconsciously curled up the corners of his lips: "Why are you here?"
Song Chiyu closed the door to the study.
I moved closer to his computer and saw that he seemed to be writing something. I couldn't help but ask curiously, "Why aren't you writing in your room?"
"I was afraid that if you saw me go back to my room, you would think I was urging you to go to sleep. I wanted you to play a little longer."
“I didn’t play with them,” Song Chiyu replied in a muffled voice, wrapping her arms around his neck from behind and resting her head on his neck. “I’m waiting for you.”
His fingers paused on the keyboard, and he turned his head slightly to ask, "What are you waiting for me for?"
"You'll find out when you go back to your room," Song Chiyu said, pressing the save button on the mouse and gently closing his laptop. "Why don't you go to your room and write it?"
Qi Yanzhou lowered his eyelids thoughtfully and unplugged the computer. "Okay."
Song Chiyu released him and stood up.
Back in her room, she took a shower first. When she came out, Qi Yanzhou was still intently staring at the screen, his hands constantly typing on the keyboard. Noticing that she was looking at him, he gently replied, "Are you going to sleep?"
Song Chiyu pursed her lips and did not answer.
Qi Yanzhou continued, "You go to sleep first, I'll sleep later."
Aren't you going to sleep with me?
Qi Yanzhou turned his head from behind the screen in confusion, feeling that she was acting strangely today.
She wore a very short nightgown that barely covered her buttocks, and her slender, fair arms were tucked behind her back with a hint of shyness. "Aren't you going to sleep with me?"
Qi Yanzhou stared at her intently, and said thoughtfully, "Do you feel that I neglected you before? It's okay, I don't mind."
He valued that competition even more than she did.
It didn't affect her at all at this time.
Song Chiyu licked her lips, her ears burning red, and lifted her fingers from the keyboard, straddling his lap.
He then realized that the back of the nightgown was also openwork.
The black computer screen reflected her smooth, white back, and her sharp shoulder blades, along with her raised chest, protruded slightly like butterfly wings.
He remained in the same position. "What's wrong?"
Song Chiyu held his arm, pressed her face against his chest, and whispered, "I want to."
He didn't say anything.
Thinking he hadn't heard her, Song Chiyu repeated, "Want..."
But he didn't feel much desire for her.
He gently ruffled the hair at the back of her head. "Let's wait until after your competition. Go to sleep first."
Song Chiyu blinked, kneeling on the chair and shifting her waist back and forth. "Really don't want to?"
"I want to, but your competition is more important." He remained unmoved, accepting her teasing: "I can't let all your previous hard work go to waste, can I?"
She ignored him and unbuckled the leather buckle at his waist.
He stared straight at her, neither looking away nor responding, his deep eyes lost in thought.
She was looking at him too.
With the sound of the chain being pulled down, she gently stroked it and asked, "Really?"
"I'm doing this for your own good."
She ignored him and instead pulled him close, kissing his lips.
Seeing that he still didn't react, she took his hand and placed it on her undulating nightgown, gently rubbing the back of his fingers.
Qi Yanzhou didn't close his eyes; she also lowered her eyelids slightly and gently sucked on his upper lip.
The veins on the back of his hand, which was gripping the mouse, bulged, but he still didn't seem inclined to hug her.
She wasn't in a hurry. She took his hand and brought it over her collar. The heavy weight of his hand landed in his palm. He gently kneaded it a few times, and then a seductive moan escaped his lips.
She was still looking at him, and even her drooping eyelids seemed to become alluring.
But his hands still didn't move on their own, so Song Chiyu simply untied the bow tie behind his neck. His eyelids drooped slightly, and he stared expressionlessly at the soft warmth that had just jumped out of her arms.
She twirled it on her fingertip and said, "Honey, won't you try some?"
He took a deep breath and gently held her fingers, which were still fiddling around his waist: "Go to sleep."
Song Chiyu knew that he was capable of endurance, but he never expected that once he made up his mind, he could truly remain as immovable as a mountain.
Her fidgety fingers paused, and she leaned closer to his chest: "Really don't want to?"
He looked at her intently for a moment, then finally looked at her face and said, "Hmm."
Song Chiyu finally stopped insisting, retied the bow behind her neck, stood up and let go of him, saying, "Okay, goodnight, husband, go to sleep early."
She obediently lay down on the bed.
In the large room, only the desk lamp was on. Staring at the flickering lines on the screen, he couldn't make out the next word—
"Found in the No. 2 sacrificial pit |"
He suddenly couldn't remember what he was supposed to write, his gaze constantly drifting towards the figure behind the sheet, his back turned to him. Finally, he closed his laptop and headed towards the bathroom. At this moment, Song Chiyu was already asleep, completely unaware of what had happened after she lay down. In her dream, she was gradually finding it difficult to breathe, a wet leaf pressed against her chest.
She was wondering why the leaves were so heavy when she suddenly woke up.
It's not a leaf at all.
It was Qi Yanzhou.
He hadn't dried himself off yet, and water droplets from his hair occasionally fell onto her face. She gently pushed him away, but was met with an even stronger grip.
He held both of her wrists with one hand.
Warm breath spread from her neck to her heart, and then down her lower abdomen.
Song Chiyu felt something being pulled off her waist.
Embarrassed, he pulled his knees back, "Yanzhou—"
He seemed not to hear her, released her wrists, held her legs, pressed against her skirt, and kissed her.
She could tolerate it at first, but when she realized he was sucking, a feeling of losing control surged up instantly. "Teacher Qi—"
He immediately kissed her even more fiercely.
She let out a sob that sounded like crying, covered her lips, and gripped his fingers tightly.
Until her emotions were pushed to the limit—
He stopped, leaned closer to her, and she bit her lip slightly. Her dim eyes were full of shimmering light, and she couldn't utter a single word of pleading or accusing him of playing around.
Fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead, his eyes were deep and piercing, and his breathing was slightly rapid.
Song Chiyu rarely saw him so flustered, and couldn't help but wrap her arms around his neck, wanting to kiss him. He obediently lowered his head, and after kissing him for a while, she let go of him and started sobbing again, but he bit her shoulder.
She murmured even more softly.
He didn't budge for a long time until her waist and abdomen twitched slightly, forcing him to stop, and then he slowly opened his mouth, "What else are you hiding from me?"
She was momentarily stunned, still savoring the afterglow of that moment, and tenderly stroked his face: "What?"
"Your eyes were red back then too."
Song Chiyu then realized that he was referring to what happened at the hospital.
She couldn't help but cross her legs: "Are you sure you want to ask me this now?"
"kindness."
“I didn’t hide anything from you, I just had some feelings.” Song Chiyu didn’t know why he was judging her at this time. She unconsciously moved her waist and recounted all her conversations with Xie Yunjin. “He is finally willing to admit that I am right, but what’s the use? No matter what he says, we can’t go back. Because I have already fallen in love with someone else.”
Who have you fallen in love with?
“My dear husband,” she hunched over, “Teacher Qi, Qi Yanzhou, Master Qi. I love you.”
"Who do you love?" His thoughts were easily led elsewhere by her.
"I love you." She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck. "Honey, stop asking and keep going."
“Really…” He suddenly realized that the words spoken in bed were meaningless, but he couldn’t help but feel a little hopeful. He wrapped his arms tightly around her waist and rested his face on her shoulder: “You better not just be trying to coax me into continuing.”
"What am I trying to fool you with? Every word is from the bottom of my heart." She turned her head and kissed him on the cheek. "Honey, hurry up and continue."
He didn't move.
She pressed down on his hand that was pinching her waist, and slowly moved her hips: "Husband, I love you, I love you the most—mmm!"
