Chapter 11 Do you agree to a divorce?

Chapter 11 Agree to a Divorce?

Jiang Ranxing walked quickly on his way to see Grandpa Fu, but stopped in front of the door.

Despite being married for so many years, she hasn't seen Mr. Fu very often, and in fact, she doesn't communicate with him much.

Old Master Fu himself has such an imposing aura that few people can get close to him.

After tidying his clothes, Jiang Ranxing mustered up the courage to knock on the door.

"Come in," the old man said in a steady and powerful voice.

Jiang Ranxing pushed open the door and bowed respectfully.

"grandfather."

Grandpa Fu was standing in front of his mahogany desk writing calligraphy when he called Jiang Ranxing over.

"Come and take a look at this calligraphy, what do you think?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Ranxing walked over and looked at the first half of the calligraphy that Old Master Fu had finished writing a quarter of an hour ago.

“Grandpa’s writing skills are naturally excellent.”

Grandpa Fu glanced at her, and that one glance startled Jiang Ranxing.

That was the disdainful feeling of someone in a superior position.

Old Master Fu said, "I heard from Shen Yuan that you wanted to talk to me. Speak."

Jiang Ranxing pondered for a while, trying to figure out how to start the conversation.

Grandpa Fu said again, "Speak your mind directly, there's no need to beat around the bush."

Jiang Ranxing calmed himself down; he knew he had to say it sooner or later.

"Grandpa, I want to divorce Fu Shenyuan."

Grandpa Fu seemed unfazed by what he heard; his hand movements remained unaffected, as if the words he heard were completely insignificant to him.

After hesitating, Jiang Ranxing asked again, "Grandpa?"

Grandpa Fu wiped the ink stains off his hands, sat down in the heavy mahogany chair, and looked at Jiang Ranxing.

I disagree with your statement.

Jiang Ranxing continued.

“Grandpa, but Fu Shenyuan and I have no feelings for each other. This marriage can’t go on. I’m too tired and don’t want to continue. Please grant my request.”

Grandpa Fu seemed to have heard some kind of joke.

“Jiang girl, haven’t I told you long ago that marriage is not a game? The existence or non-existence of a marriage cannot determine its survival.”

Jiang Ranxing recalled that six years ago, before she and Fu Shenyuan got married, Old Master Fu had said these words to her.

Grandpa Fu told her that marriage is not a game, nor can it be sustained by mere liking someone.

Marriage is different from dating.

Dating can be about feelings, but marriage is much more complex.

Grandpa Fu told her to think it over carefully, and if she wanted to get married, he would arrange it for her.

Jiang Ranxing was young at the time, and his thoughts were simple; he couldn't think about so much.

When she heard that she could marry the person she loved most, she didn't care about anything else and agreed on the spot.

Looking back now, I realize that what Grandpa Fu said made a lot of sense.

Unfortunately, some things must be experienced firsthand; only those who have gone through them can truly understand.

“You are no longer just a daughter of the Jiang family, but more of a wife of the head of the Fu family, and you represent the Fu family more.”

Grandpa Fu continued.

"My Fu family cannot tolerate any stains, especially on the person in power. I will not allow even the slightest stain to remain. Do you understand, Jiang girl?"

Jiang Ranxing understood; Old Master Fu was saying that the divorce would have external impacts on Fu Shenyuan and the Fu family.

Large families value their reputation, and families like the Fu family value it even more.

They would not allow the woman to file for divorce; it would be dishonorable and undignified for the Fu family.

Jiang Ranxing said quietly, "So you don't agree to our divorce."

Grandpa Fu said, "That's not how it works."

Jiang Ranxing's recent dejection was stirred by these words, and his eyes instantly lit up.

"Grandpa, you mean..."

Grandpa Fu said slowly, "I don't agree with your statement, but that doesn't mean I absolutely disagree with your divorce."

“I know that the girl Shen Yuan has liked since childhood has returned to China. I heard that she is getting a divorce from her husband. You and I both understand what she means by contacting Shen Yuan.”

Yes, she knew exactly what Lin Xuesha meant.

She had only usurped the throne for six years; now the legitimate wife was coming back to take it all back.

Including the love she never received from Fu Shenyuan.

“Shen Yuan came by earlier, and I asked him what he thought of the child.”

Jiang Ranxing said slowly, "Fu Shenyuan still likes her."

Grandpa Fu did not refute, Jiang Ranxing was right.

Fu Shenyuan's mindset remained unchanged; being able to be so persistent in one person for so many years was typical of the Fu family.

"That's why I said I don't absolutely disagree with your divorce."

“Emotionally speaking, you and Shen Yuan haven’t developed any feelings for each other over the years, and Shen Yuan also likes that child. You don’t want to continue with Shen Yuan, so I should let you two be together.”

“But Jiang girl, don’t forget, this is the Fu family’s place, and I must prioritize the Fu family’s interests.”

"If you want a divorce now and leave the Fu family, you will still be a penniless housewife. This will be a stain on the reputation of Shen Yuan and Xing Yi, the two generations of leaders."

"What will outsiders say? The head of the Fu family has a useless wife, and the future head of the family has an impulsive mother. It's all unpleasant to talk about. They will be criticized, and you will also lose face."

Jiang Ranxing then realized what was happening, and her expression changed from gloomy to normal.

She understood what Grandpa Fu meant.

Jiang Ranxing said, "Thank you for your guidance, Grandpa. I promise you, I will get this done in less than three months."

She will strive to make herself valuable and build her career within three months, so that she won't be criticized by outsiders.

Jiang Ranxing is confident in herself.

She wanted to walk out of the Fu family with her head held high and her back straight.

Grandpa Fu nodded in appreciation.

"As expected, I, Fu Jingshan, was right about you back then, little girl. It's just that Shen Yuan is unlucky."

Jiang Ranxing asked, puzzled, "Grandpa, you mean..."

Is Fu Shenyuan unlucky?

Why would Grandpa say that?

Fu Jingshan didn't say anything more, just nodded and had someone take Jiang Ranxing away.

After Jiang Ranxing left, the old servant asked Master Fu.

Grandpa Fu said, "This girl Jiang is a promising talent. She has courage and determination. She married without hesitation back then, and now she's divorced. I told her to have her own career and be confident enough to walk out of the Fu family, but she still does what she says. It's only a matter of time before she and Shen Yuan get together. I can't stop this old man."

Old servant: "So you mean Young Master Sun is unlucky..."

Grandpa Fu always had a clear understanding of things and a sharp eye for detail.

“Shen Yuan will regret this someday. Those involved are often blinded, while bystanders see clearly. Shen Yuan can’t see his own heart. He has to bear the bitter fruit of his own actions.”

Old Master Fu looked at his old servant who had been with him for decades and sighed.

"We've all been young before. We're all this age now, what haven't we seen? We've all been through the ups and downs of young people's relationships, let them be."

The old servant chimed in, "Yes, there's nothing new under the sun."

Grandpa Fu said with a hint of regret, "I only hope that when Shen Yuan learns the truth in the future, he can bear it."
