Chapter 345 Henpecked Husband

Chapter 345 Henpecked Husband

Jiang Yan noticed Mia's actions and his gaze followed her to her lower abdomen.

How would he feel if there really was a little life inside that was connected to him by blood?

For a long time, he had no family. It wasn't until he found his younger sister that he had a real sense of having relatives by his side.

If he had a child of his own, and the child's mother was still the person he wanted most, he thought he would be very happy and would cherish her immensely.

Jiang Yan smiled and, while the car stopped at a red light, patted Xiao Tangyuan's head and teased him with a question.

"Does Little Tangyuan prefer a younger brother or a younger sister?"

Little Tangyuan thought about it seriously: "Anything is fine. I'll love both my aunt and uncle's children, whether they're little brothers or little sisters. If it's a little brother, I'll give him all my treasured toys. If it's a little sister, I'll buy her a beautiful princess dress and a Barbie doll!"

“Little Tangyuan is so well-behaved,” Jiang Yan said, looking at Mia’s face, seemingly casually but actually very seriously, “Do you prefer a son or a daughter?”

Mia was stunned for a moment before she came to her senses, and her face suddenly turned ashen.

"Stop joking around, focus on driving."

Mia turned her gaze to the window, and when Jiang Yan saw this evasive action, he subconsciously felt that something was wrong.

Is it because the young girl doesn't want to accept him that she's avoiding the issue of having children?

But her reaction didn't seem right; it was as if she was hiding something else.

What exactly is going on? Jiang Yan pondered.

It seems we should get to know the girl better, understand her feelings, and clear away all her concerns until nothing can stand in their way anymore.

Once at the zoo, Mia had returned to normal, as if nothing had happened.

Jiang Yan also cooperated by not bringing up the topic again.

"Little Tangyuan, you and your aunt wait here. Your uncle will go buy the tickets."

Little Tangyuan nodded obediently.

After informing Mia, Jiang Yan turned and went to the ticket office.

As Jiang Yan walked into the crowd at the ticket booth, he immediately attracted a lot of attention. Jiang Yan's appearance was that of a top-tier handsome man in the eyes of both women and men.

With his tall stature, long legs, and unparalleled handsome appearance, he made everyone else look like a god in the crowd.

Mia watched from a distance; Jiang Yan was exactly the type of man she had always liked.

He's handsome, has a good personality, and is charming.

However, in the past, she was only attracted to handsome men, and at most, she would have meals with them and make friends. She never had any romantic feelings for them.

She and Jiang Yan had already crossed the line, sharing a close physical bond, and even their feelings had begun to develop...

For Mia, this was the first time she had ever had a romantic relationship with a handsome guy she liked.

She was very unsure whether she had the ability to go all the way, or whether she could bear the responsibility that the relationship brought her.

Little Tangyuan shook her hand and asked, "Auntie, what are you thinking about? You're acting strange today. Is it because Uncle upset you?"

Children don't understand the complexities of her inner thoughts; they can only focus on outward things like whether she's happy.

Mia shook her head and smiled at Xiaotangyuan.

"No, little glutinous rice ball, don't overthink it."

"Then why are you like this, Auntie?"

Mia thought for a moment and made up an excuse: "It's probably because the weather is too hot today."

"That's true, Auntie hates the heat the most, so I'll buy her ice cream later."

Mia teased him, "The ice cream at the zoo is expensive, do you have that much money in your little wallet?"

"Yes, I brought all my saved-up New Year's money with me. I can buy you any kind of glutinous rice balls you want, Auntie."

Seeing her little nephew acting like a little adult, Mia smiled with satisfaction, hugged the little glutinous rice ball and kissed him.

"Little Tangyuan is still the best-behaved..."

Little Tangyuan is probably the only boy in the world who is truly good to her. As for others, Mia feels that she really can't see through people's hearts and doesn't dare to trust them easily.

Mia crouched down, and a pair of feet came into her view. Then, a figure blocked the scorching sun in front of her.

Mia looked up and saw Jiang Yan standing in front of her against the sunlight, holding three zoo tickets in his left hand and two iced drinks he had bought from the entrance in his right. The warm golden sunlight outlined his figure, making him look like he had stepped out of a painting, giving Mia a sense of unreality.

"What are you doing, baby? Staring at me like that?" Jiang Yan handed over the two drinks in her hand. "These are for you."

After regaining her senses, Mia blinked quickly and took the cups. She handed one cup to Xiao Tangyuan and took the other cup for herself to taste.

"Is it sweet?" Jiang Yan asked her.

"It's quite sweet."

Do you like it?

"Yes, I like it."

Jiang Yan smiled, seemingly satisfied with her answer: "Let's go in."

Jiang Yan took Xiao Tangyuan's hand from Mia, while Mia followed behind them into the zoo.

The zoo entrance was crowded, with ticket inspectors jostling one after another. Jiang Yan, worried that Xiao Tangyuan would get jostled, picked him up and turned to tell Mia to be careful as well.

Mia nodded.

She thought she could just walk slowly through the crowded entrance, but then an unreasonable person cut in line in front of her.

"Hey, what's wrong with you! Can't you see we're all in line? Don't you have any manners?!"

"How can you be so rude! I've been queuing here the whole time. I just went to the restroom and there were no seats left. What's wrong with me coming back to stand here?"

"Don't talk nonsense! I've been standing here the whole time, and I didn't see you at all. You just got here, didn't you!"

"Why are you being so fussy? It's so hot, just hurry up and go in! You would have already gotten your ticket checked and gone in by now!"

"This isn't about whether you care or not, okay? It's hot, as if everyone else isn't! Cutting in line is just being rude! You're shameless!"

"No! Who are you calling shameless!"

"Anyone who cuts in line is shameless!"

The two sides started arguing, which quickly escalated into a fight, and the scene became chaotic.

Mia walked at the back of the crowd and was separated from them.

When Jiang Yan didn't turn around, Mia subconsciously wanted to follow him. After walking a few steps faster, Mia subconsciously reached out and grabbed Jiang Yan's hand. Suddenly, she realized that she actually wanted to rely on Jiang Yan.

Mia didn't go forward again. Just then, the people who had started arguing came over, and Mia was about to be pushed back to the back of the line.

Seeing that Jiang Yan and Xiao Tangyuan had already walked ahead, Mia sighed and lowered her head. Then—she felt her hand being held, and warm, rough fingers even touched her palm, as if to comfort her.

"Sorry, honey, I was in a bit of a rush just now."

Jiang Yan squeezed her hand and smiled at her.

For a moment, Mia was stunned.

The vast crowd and the hustle and bustle around seemed to be frozen in time by that smile.

Mia had never felt such a warm current flowing through her heart. The glacier suddenly burst open, cracking open in all directions. Sunlight shone on the deepest part of the seabed, warming the lifeless dark river.

"What's wrong? Have you suddenly realized you like me?"

Jiang Yan asked, but saw that Mia still didn't react.

Jiang Yan looked at her with some panic: "Ya Ya, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Mia was brought back to her senses by his words, and shook her head, saying, "No, it's nothing, I was just spacing out."

Jiang Yan finally breathed a sigh of relief. Mia saw his relieved expression, which further touched her already wavering heart.

Mia thought that perhaps Jiang Yan was a man who truly cared about her, and perhaps he was different from Su Rong.

The wounds Su Rong left in her heart were so deep. If it weren't for him, she might have been able to accept Jiang Yan more quickly.

"Let's go, let's take Xiao Tangyuan to see the giant pandas." Mia smiled and walked side by side with Jiang Yan. Xiao Tangyuan also waved her arms and chatted happily with her aunt and uncle.

The two adults led the child on a stroll from the zoo entrance. Little Tangyuan was very curious and would ask a lot of questions about almost every animal she hadn't seen before. Mia used to explain these things to Little Tangyuan, but this time, it was Jiang Yan who took over.

Mia was very relaxed, and Jiang Yan was surprisingly good at taking care of children. Even the most well-behaved little Tangyuan would have disobedient moments, and Mia sometimes couldn't handle it. But with Jiang Yan there, he would coax her while also educating her from a man's perspective, and little Tangyuan wouldn't make a fuss at all.

Jiang Yan will definitely be a good father in the future.

When the thought popped into her head, Mia was stunned. She had actually thought about the future, especially after getting married and having children.

She had never thought this way when she was with Su Rong before.

Mia repeatedly examined her own heart and realized that something seemed different.

Halfway through the shopping mall, Xiao Tangyuan stopped.

"Uncle, I'm a little tired. Can we rest for a while?" Little Tangyuan pointed to the street where food was sold. "I promised to buy ice cream for Auntie. I can't go back on my word."

Mia was charmed by Xiao Tangyuan's earnest expression.

When they reached the ice cream cart, Jiang Yan picked up Xiao Tangyuan and asked him what he liked to eat.

"Auntie picks, Auntie is really good at picking out delicious food."

Mia walked over and looked at the menu again and again. "Chocolate, melon, and... what do you like to eat?"

Mia looked at Jiang Yan. Chocolate was her favorite, and honeydew melon was Xiao Tangyuan's favorite, but she had no idea what the man next to her liked.

Jiang Yan nodded indifferently: "It's up to you."

Jiang Yan never eats these kinds of things, and he's never been interested in the things these little girls like.

Mia looked around the menu before finally deciding, "Boss, I'll have another coffee flavor too."

"Why are you all so sweet, but I'm getting bitter?" Jiang Yan teased deliberately. "Baby, don't you think I've suffered enough in pursuing you? Do you want to add more bitterness to my life?"

"Tch, if you don't like it, don't eat it." Mia rolled her eyes at him.

Jiang Yan repeatedly said he dared not, and took out money from his wallet to pay, but Xiao Tangyuan pulled him back.

"I said I was going to treat you, Uncle, don't try to take it from me. Otherwise, if you really want to treat me, could you take Xiaotangyuan out for dinner later? I don't want to eat at home today, I want to eat out."

Mia pinched Little Tangyuan's ear: "So you were waiting for your uncle here, you little rascal?"

Little Tangyuan was amused and giggled, burrowing into Jiang Yan's arms.

"Okay, Uncle-in-law agrees."

Jiang Yan took his doting to the extreme.

After visiting the zoo, Mia thought Jiang Yan would just go to a random restaurant for dinner, but she didn't expect him to arrange for the most luxurious hotel in Z City.

"No need, Little Tangyuan doesn't need to go to places like this. We can just go to the mall and find something to eat."

Mia looked at the rooftop restaurant on the 88th floor. She knew the prices there; an apology alone cost over a thousand, and some of the more expensive options could even reach five figures.

However, Jiang Yan still led Xiao Tangyuan straight into the restaurant, and even booked the best seats in the entire restaurant with the best view, which required an extra charge.

That's too extravagant.

Mia's attempts to stop her were ineffective.

In Jiang Yan's words, "As the uncle-in-law, this is the first time I've taken Xiao Tangyuan out to eat, so of course I can't be casual. Don't worry about the baby, give me a chance to be attentive."

Mia was helpless. Later, she thought about it and realized that Jiang Yan was indeed rich. He didn't even look at the price when ordering food. As long as Xiao Tangyuan liked something, he was willing to buy it for her.

"I hope you won't act like this when you have children. I'm really worried about your future wife who will run the household."

Jiang Yan smiled and said, "I keep all my money with you, what are you worried about? If you don't give me living expenses, I won't have any money to spend."

Mia scoffed, "Why are you making yourself sound so pitiful?"

"Of course, if you only give me a few hundred yuan for living expenses, I'm afraid it'll be gone as soon as I fill up the gas tank, and I'll probably only be able to eat boxed lunches when I go out to eat."

"Boss Jiang, could you have some more tea? Who would dare treat you like this?"

"If it were you, I would be willing to have nothing."

Mia's cheeks slowly flushed. She never expected that Jiang Yan, who looked so serious and earnest, could be so skilled at flirting, almost overwhelming her.

"You're quite good at talking nonsense, Mr. Jiang."

Jiang Yan said again, "I'm not talking nonsense, it's all from the bottom of my heart."

Mia was so embarrassed that she covered her face with her hands.

Little Tangyuan joined in the fun, saying, "Auntie, I'm so sorry! Auntie is embarrassed because Uncle teased her!"

"Little Tangyuan! Don't side with outsiders!"

Little Tangyuan deliberately made a funny face, and Mia, embarrassed and annoyed, was about to pinch Little Tangyuan's face, but was gently stopped by Jiang Yan's big hand.

"Stop pinching, Little Tangyuan's face is really turning into a tangyuan."

"Yes, yes, Auntie, you can't pinch me anymore, or I won't become as handsome as Uncle!"

Mia eventually laughed so hard that she withdrew her hand.

The three of them looked like a happy family of three, which prompted the hotel manager to come over and say, "We can take photos of the parents and baby. It's a tradition at our restaurant that if a photo is taken at sunset, the people taking the picture will be happy and never be separated. Would you like to take a picture?"

Before Mia could say anything, Jiang Yan nodded, and the hotel manager quickly came over with a camera.

As the sun sets, the pinkish-purple light shines through, illuminating the three people in the frame, who look incredibly happy.

"One more, please."

Jiang Yan turned his head and planted a kiss on Mia's forehead.

He asked again, "Ya Ya, please say yes, I really like you."

Mia blinked.

"I don't want to get married, but can you upgrade my status? I want a formal title. Can I be your boyfriend?"

Little Tangyuan stared wide-eyed at the two adults. Although he didn't know what was going on, he knew that his uncle was trying to please his aunt.

In such a romantic setting, Mia couldn't help but be moved, as if she was about to blurt out "yes" at any moment.

The phone started vibrating wildly at that moment.

Mia glanced at the contents of her phone and suddenly frowned.

"What's wrong, Ya Ya?" Jiang Yan didn't know what had happened.

Mia stared blankly at her phone, then slowly exhaled, "Su Rong, he's here too..."
