Chapter 1076: Should I be so anxious?

Chapter 1076: Should I be so anxious?

After buying the clay dolls, Su Jiuyao and Gu Hanye walked back to the hotel hand in hand.

The hotel is not far away, just two intersections away. The two of them didn't drive when they came, they walked here, and naturally they walked back.

After walking for a while, Gu Hanye said, "Yaoyao, how about I ask the driver to come pick you up?"

"It's just two steps away, it shouldn't be that serious."

"Shall we take a taxi back?"

"Let's just walk back and digest our food."

Gu Hanye stopped talking, but quickened his pace.

Su Jiuyao was dissatisfied. She pulled his hand, slowed him down, and asked him, "Why are you walking so fast? I can't keep up."

Gu Hanye smiled and glanced at her, "Tell me why."

Su Jiuyao blushed and clenched her fist to hit his arm.

"Hiss, Yaoyao, why are you hitting people?" The old fox pretended to be in pain and looked innocent.

"Mr. Gu, can you think of something else?"

The old fox laughed: "Yaoyao took me to buy a doll, how could I not want it."

Su Jiuyao felt that this man was simply unreasonable. She glared at him and said no more.

But I don’t know why, but as I held the clay doll in my arms, my steps seemed to inexplicably quicken.

It was like that hotel suite was a room filled with magical treasures that they were all eager to see.

It was as if it was a secret garden that belonged to them alone, safe and private, making them want to run back and wander freely in it.

Perhaps because I was anxious, this short journey seemed so long, as if it would never end.

Su Jiuyao could not see the vehicles, pedestrians, and trees on both sides of the road. She could only hear her own pounding heartbeat and feel Gu Hanye's hot palm.

The two walked to the last intersection, and after crossing the sidewalk, the hotel was across the street.

They stood by the roadside waiting for the light to turn green.

Gu Hanye looked at the red light and said, "There's something wrong with the light at this intersection. It's slower than normal."

"No way, it's clearly a normal countdown," Su Jiuyao glared at him with a smile, "Why are you so impatient?"

It felt like checking into a hotel for the first time.

Gu Hanye said with a wicked smile, "I see Yaoyao has been walking quite fast along the way."

Su Jiuyao glared at him, smiled and turned her head away from him.

When I turned around, I saw a little boy of seven or eight years old walking up the sidewalk wearing a pair of roller skates. The child seemed to have just learned roller skating and didn't know how to stop. He just slid straight into the traffic.

The little boy passed by Su Jiuyao, and Su Jiuyao reached out and grabbed the child's arm without thinking.

At the same time, a vehicle turning right passed through the intersection, almost brushing against the child's body.

It was a close call.

However, the little boy couldn't keep his balance, and after being pulled back by Su Jiuyao, he fell directly into her arms. The wheels of his roller skates rolled over Jiuyao's feet and knocked the clay doll out of her hand.

The gift box fell to the ground with a dull sound, as if ceramic was breaking.

Su Jiuyao's heart skipped a beat.

She hurriedly picked up the gift box and opened it to see that both dolls were broken. Su Jiuyao's mouth pursed and she felt extremely sad.

Gu Hanye bent down and looked at her feet worriedly: "Are you okay?"

"The foot is fine, the doll is broken."

Gu Hanye stood up, took a look at the gift box, and rubbed her head: "Don't be sad, we will buy a new one."

The child hesitantly said, "Sister, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it..."
