Chapter 1974 Eating Chicken
In the dim carriage, in the busy corridor, Shi Chenyuan appeared in front of Cheng Xiaoyu without any warning, looking exhausted.
His breathing was a little rapid, there was a thin layer of sweat on his forehead, and his body even had the coolness of the early autumn night. Cheng Xiaoyu seemed to imagine how hurried he was in rushing here.
Shi Chenyuan smiled at her and opened his arms: "Didn't you want me to hug you just now? Why are you so stupid when you see me?"
Cheng Xiaoyu immediately threw herself into Shi Chenyuan's arms, tightly wrapped her arms around his waist, and asked sullenly in his arms, "Aren't you going there by plane? Aren't you going to meet me at the train station?"
"I'm not here to reunite with you," Shi Chenyuan patted her back, "and I never said I'd take a plane over there."
Cheng Xiaoyu recalled what he had said before. Indeed, he had never said that he wanted to go there by plane.
That was just Cheng Xiaoyu's misunderstanding, and he deliberately did not correct it.
She was so angry that she punched Shi Chenyuan in the chest, but she couldn't help laughing.
There were other passengers getting on the bus in the corridor, and from time to time I could hear voices of "Excuse me, please let me pass."
Cheng Xiaoyu grabbed Shi Chenyuan's tie and dragged him into the box.
Shi Chenyuan put his arm around her waist and closed the car door with the other hand.
As soon as the door closed, Shi Chenyuan's lips covered hers, rubbing them passionately.
The train started, slowly left the platform, and passed through the city as night fell.
The street lights and neon lights in the city have been turned on. The lights flickered outside the window, and Cheng Xiaoyu had a feeling of unreality.
Just when Cheng Xiaoyu was dizzy from Shi Chenyuan's kiss and didn't know what day it was or where she was, there was a knock on the door and he finally stopped.
Shi Chenyuan slightly left her lips and chuckled, "Assistant Cheng, please wait a moment. I'll go open the door."
Cheng Xiaoyu nodded and pursed her lips that he had kissed, but she didn't want to take her eyes off him for a moment, for fear that if she blinked, everything that had just happened would be a dream.
The person knocking on the door was the train attendant, who politely said to Shi Chenyuan, "Hello, sir. Is this your suitcase?"
Cheng Xiaoyu glanced at the suitcase on the ground. They had just been so busy being intimate that they had left the suitcase outside...
Afterwards, Shi Chenyuan thanked the conductor and pulled the box in.
After the conductor left, he closed the door again and came to Cheng Xiaoyu.
Shi Chenyuan held her face and gently stroked her cheek with his thumb, then held her shoulders and stroked her arms. As if after confirming that she was fine, he breathed a sigh of relief and held her in his arms again.
"You really scared me when you called me crying."
"Then you came here?" Cheng Xiaoyu smiled and pursed her lips.
Before he came, Cheng Xiaoyu felt lost and aggrieved. She burst into tears as soon as she called him.
But now that she saw him, Cheng Xiaoyu was no longer sad. The corners of her mouth kept turning up, and she couldn't suppress it.
This is probably what surprise feels like.
"We were planning to get on the bus at this stop," Shi Chenyuan smoothed her messy hair. "By the way, have you eaten? Are you hungry?"
Cheng Xiaoyu pursed her lips: "I had no appetite before... I didn't eat anything..."
"That's perfect." Shi Chenyuan said, turning around and picking up the brown paper bag on the suitcase, "I brought this for you. I'll put the luggage down first and go open it."
Cheng Xiaoyu could smell the aroma of food through the brown paper bag. She sniffed carefully and her eyes lit up: "Fried chicken?"
"I didn't have any decent takeout food on the way here, so I bought this to make do with my meal."
As Shi Chenyuan spoke, he placed his luggage on the bottom berth, side by side with her suitcase.
Looking at the two suitcases lying side by side, Cheng Xiaoyu's mouth curled up again, and she said to Mr. Shi, "I was just craving fried chicken."
In fact, no matter what he bought, Cheng Xiaoyu liked it. As long as he came, she was happy.
Moreover, she wasn't hungry when Mr. Shi didn't come, but when Mr. Shi came, she had an appetite and felt like she could eat a whole chicken.
She put the paper bag on the small table by the window, took out the fried chicken box, and opened it impatiently. It was her favorite sweet and spicy and honey mustard flavor.
"Mr. Shi, have you had dinner?"
"Not yet."
Cheng Xiaoyu closed the lid again and sat obediently at the table waiting for him to join her.
Shi Chenyuan glanced back at her, smiled, took off his suit jacket, and draped it over the armrest of the upper bunk. He sat across from her and tore open a pack of wet wipes to wipe his hands: "Okay, let's eat."
Cheng Xiaoyu couldn't wait any longer and immediately took off the disposable gloves.
Shi Chenyuan held her hand and wiped her hands with the wet wipes he had just opened: "Why are you like a child? I have to help you wipe your hands before eating."
Cheng Xiaoyu smiled and said nothing, watching Shi Chenyuan take care of her like an older brother.
It is hard to imagine the panic and helplessness she experienced just now when she was alone in this small carriage.
At this moment, Shi Chenyuan appeared in front of her magically as if he had fallen from the sky.
She stared at the person in front of her without blinking, still immersed in the little joy in her heart, unable to extricate herself.
Shi Chenyuan helped her wipe her hands, and they both put on disposable gloves and prepared to eat.
While eating, Cheng Xiaoyu asked him why he got on the bus at this stop.
Shi Chenyuan explained to her what happened.
It turned out that he was on a business trip in Jiangcheng today. Ideally, he would get on the train at Jiangcheng Station, but this train did not stop in Jiangcheng, so he had to take the high-speed rail here first. The time was very tight, but fortunately he made it in time.
He had bought this ticket at the beginning. The ticket for the upper bunk was indeed bought by Shi Chenyuan, but he did not get on the train at Haicheng Station, but from this station.
Shi Chenyuan also said that when she was crossing the tunnel, he had already told her on the phone not to be afraid, and that he would get on the bus at the next stop.
But because the signal was bad, she didn't hear what he said, so Shi Chenyuan simply didn't tell her later and just gave her a surprise after getting on the bus.
After understanding the whole story, Cheng Xiaoyu no longer blamed Shi Chenyuan for being a straight man.
But he still said, "Actually, I should go to Jiangcheng to find you. It would be much easier for us to take a plane together."
That way, Shi Chenyuan wouldn't have to back up to meet her in the middle of the night, which would be very tiring.
Shi Chenyuan used his thumb to wipe the sauce off the corner of her mouth. "Wouldn't that mean we won't have the chance to eat fried chicken on the train, and we won't be able to experience the feeling of riding in a sleeper car together?"
"You've never ridden in a sleeper either?"
Shi Chenyuan shook his head. "I rode it twice when I was a kid, but I miss it a lot. That was when my parents took Rong Ye and me to the mountains to play. They weren't divorced yet..."
He paused, looked at her and smiled faintly: "One of the few warm memories."
Cheng Xiaoyu felt sorry for the big boss in front of him. Even though he had status and endless wealth, what Shi Chenyuan longed for most in his heart was to be together with his family and have three meals a day and four seasons.
Thinking of this, Cheng Xiaoyu said to Shi Chenyuan: "It doesn't matter, I will accompany you from now on."
"Okay," Shi Chenyuan then picked out a chicken nugget and handed it to her, saying with a smile, "This one is good, eat this."
