As soon as the training ended, some people couldn't wait to go to Qi Hongmei's house to inquire. Sun Xiuhua had just received the news when she came to find Ye Zhaozhao.
"Zhaozhao, I heard that Qi Hongmei's son was betrothed as a child."
Today, a marriage proposal came knocking on Qi Hongmei's door. When she got home, she saw a woman bringing a girl to her door.
She was immediately displeased, but considering each other's feelings, she still smiled and said...
"Xiaoling, it's not that I'm saying you're bad, it's just that you and Dadong aren't a good match. I'll introduce you to someone better later."
Xiaoling almost burst into tears upon hearing this, and the woman next to her was also disgusted by Qi Hongmei's sudden reneging on the engagement.

Ye Zhaozhao and Sun Xiuhua felt that Qi Hongmei's actions were unethical, and that others shouldn't think they couldn't see through it.
She just looks down on people who come from the countryside.
"Zhaozhao, do you think Da Dong is really engaged?"
"Qi Hongmei is lying."
She was completely lying to Xiaoling and her mother; she simply didn't want to keep her promise.
Xiaoling and her mother weren't stupid; they wanted to find out if Dadong was engaged.
They really stayed at her house and wouldn't leave. With these two people at home, Qi Hongmei wouldn't be able to participate in the training.
Without her, the two-week training period ended very quickly.
The day after training ended, Gu Yunduan suggested that the family go to Kyoto for a visit.
In the past, the children's eyes would light up when they heard about going to Kyoto, and Ye Zhaozhao went to school there every day.
The children all wanted her to take them along. Before, it was because they were in school, but now that they finally have a holiday, Ye Zhaozhao wanted to take them out to play.
"Mom and Dad, you two go, we won't go."
Ye Zhaozhao even doubted that she had misheard. Looking at the serious-looking Tuantuan, she asked the opinions of the others, and none of them wanted to go.

"Mom, when are you going to make popcorn for us?"
I was about to curse when I remembered what Ye Zhaozhao had said: try not to curse in front of children.
Parents are a child's first teachers, and children will learn by example.
"It's coming right away, Mom will make it for you right away."
Looking at Sun Xiuhua's eerie smile, Tie Zhu couldn't help but feel a chill down his spine, and even Sha Zhu was dumbfounded.
Mom looks better when she doesn't smile; her smile is too scary.
Gu Yunduan and Ye Zhaozhao had already agreed on the way that they would go see a movie first today.
Rarely having some alone time together, they went to the cinema, where Gu Yunduan went to buy tickets.
Ye Zhaozhao saw a stall selling melon seeds and soda nearby, so she bought some. Just as the two of them went inside, the movie started. Ye Zhaozhao liked watching movies.
So she watched intently the whole time, and seeing how absorbed she was, Gu Yunduan didn't want to disturb her.
They only occasionally took a sip of soda, and after the movie ended, Ye Zhaozhao and Gu Yunduan walked out of the cinema.
Ye Zhaozhao thought the movie was great, and Gu Yunduan thought he would bring her to see more movies in the future.
As the two chatted, Ye Zhaozhao glanced at the man and woman walking ahead.
She recognized the man; he was Qi Hongmei's son, Da Dong. She didn't recognize the woman. Ye Zhaozhao ignored them and went to the bookstore with Gu Yunduan.
Tuantuan and Yuanyuan especially love reading books, particularly comic books. There were even some words they didn't recognize before.
The more comic books I read, the more I realized I could recognize all the words in them.
So Ye Zhaozhao came to buy books today. She bought a lot of comic books in one go, and when she saw that there were children's stories for sale, she bought those too.
