No one knew why Qi Hongmei was running so fast, and they ignored her and continued chatting.
Upon seeing Liao Juanzi, Qi Hongmei grabbed her arm.
"Come home with me."
"Mom, I heard you're having a tea party. There must be lots of delicious food, right?"
As Liao Juanzi spoke, she licked her lips, looking very hungry. Qi Hongmei immediately became disgusted and, regardless of whether Liao Juanzi wanted to or not, dragged her home.
"Mom, I'm hungry."
As soon as she got home, Liao Juanzi complained of being hungry. Qi Hongmei said that she had married a tyrant, but she had no choice but to cook.
Liao Juanzi rarely does housework, and she is the laziest person Qi Hongmei has ever met.
If laziness is one of her flaws, Qi Hongmei can accept it.
Liao Juanzi's job was also fake; it belonged to someone else.
She had only covered for someone else for a few days, but what Qi Hongmei found most unbearable was that...
Liao Juanzi had been married before, but her family kept it a secret so no one knew.
But secrets don't stay hidden forever; the thought of her son marrying a divorced woman kept her in the public eye.
Qi Hongmei felt like she had swallowed a fly, especially since she had been married into the family for so many days.
Liao Juanzi spends her days either playing cards in the county town or hanging out with some street hustlers.
That evening, Qi Hongmei discussed the matter with her husband, who said that since she had already married into the family, she was already married into the family.
If she doesn't have a job, just find her one.
"You make it sound so easy. Finding a job isn't that simple."
Although many departments are hiring, none of them are suitable for Liao Juanzi's personality. Suddenly, Qi Hongmei had an idea and decided to give it a try tomorrow.
Ye Zhaozhao received the money from the publishing house, ten yuan per story.
She wrote a book with a hundred stories, and this time she earned a total of one thousand yuan.
After returning home and putting the money away, I went to Sun Xiuhua's house. She had just arrived when Qi Hongmei followed closely behind. More importantly, Qi Hongmei also brought some things with her.
"Qi Hongmei, what are you doing here?"
Sun Xiuhua felt that Qi Hongmei was someone who wouldn't come to her unless she had a reason. Qi Hongmei walked over with a smile on her face and put down the things she was carrying.
"Sister Sun, these are rice strips I bought for the child. I'm fine."
"I figured we all live in the family compound, so I came here to familiarize myself with the place so I don't get lost."
Sun Xiuhua and Ye Zhaozhao didn't believe she was just there to recognize the place; if that were all, she wouldn't have brought anything.
"Qi Hongmei, what exactly do you want?"
When Sun Xiuhua asked, Qi Hongmei explained the purpose of her visit. After hearing her explanation, Sun Xiuhua refused outright.
"Qi Hongmei, your daughter-in-law does not meet our kindergarten's recruitment requirements."
Indeed, after thinking around, Qi Hongmei couldn't find a suitable job for her daughter-in-law, so she simply set her sights on the kindergarten run by Sun Xiuhua.
"Anyone can take care of a child," Qi Hongmei said, and then launched into a praise session.
"Sister Sun, let me tell you, my wife is very capable, both at home and outside."
"Do both things well, the key is to be diligent. If you send someone like that to kindergarten, I guarantee your kindergarten will be spotless every day."
"Qi Hongmei, we hired teachers, not cleaners. You're just messing around."
Sun Xiuhua didn't want to say much to her. She had met her daughter-in-law before, and she thought she looked like that.
Sun Xiuhua glanced at Qi Hongmei in front of her and could only say one thing.
"People who aren't family don't become family," she thought, and she certainly wouldn't dare admit Liao Juanzi to the kindergarten.
If she were to scare the children and make their parents cry, they would have to come looking for her. Qi Hongmei didn't want to give up so easily.
“Sun Meizi, teachers have to work too, you should think it over again. Our Juanzi is a very good girl.”
"By the way, doesn't your daughter-in-law work at the grain depot? Why is she suddenly looking for a job?"
"She quit her previous job."
Sun Xiuhua didn't believe it at all. Such a good job, and she just quit it. She asked Qi Hongmei a few more questions, which made Qi Hongmei's scalp tingle.
Seeing that Sun Xiuhua wouldn't budge, he had no choice but to go home first. Before leaving, he made sure to take the glutinous rice strips he had brought with him. He hadn't agreed to anything, so there was no need to send any gifts.
Ye Zhaozhao remained silent throughout; she felt that Sun Xiuhua had done the right thing.
It's best not to mess with someone like Qi Hongmei, otherwise who knows what she'll say about you later.
When Ye Zhaozhao returned home, Tiezhu and Shazhu were back. The two of them had gone to the river to catch fish again that day, and they told her they wanted to eat braised fish.
"Okay, I'll go home and cook now. Come over for dinner tonight."
"Thank you, Aunt Ye."
Tie Zhu and Sha Zhu were overjoyed. Ye Zhaozhao carried the fish home and saw a woman carrying a package in the distance. When she got closer, she realized it was Qin Xuehua.
Ye Zhaozhao was puzzled. Hadn't she gone back to her hometown? How could she be back in just a few days? But she didn't ask any more questions and took the fish home to cook.
In the evening, the braised fish was ready, and Tiezhu and Shazhu brought Lele over to eat it.
Sun Xiuhua only sent the child over, but Ye Zhaozhao sent a gift to her and Zhou Dawu.
Tie Zhu and Sha Zhu caught five fish of various sizes, enough for them to eat. After delivering the fish, Tie Zhu and Sha Zhu sat down to eat.
"Aunt Ye, shall we help you collect firewood tomorrow?"
Ye Zhaozhao would cook delicious food for them from time to time, and they always got to eat for free.
Both children felt a little embarrassed, mainly because they were afraid of Gu Yunduan.
"No need, Uncle Gu has the firewood. Eat up."
The children ate with great satisfaction. When Zhou Dawu returned home and didn't see them, he knew without a doubt that they had gone to Ye Zhaozhao's house for dinner.
"These are fish that Zhaozhao sent."
Zhou Dawu sat down and took a bite. The braised fish was indeed delicious. Sun Xiuhua, on the other hand, had already gotten used to Ye Zhaozhao's cooking skills.
