Chapter 151 The Unlovable Before My Eyes

The old lady gave her a tin box of cookies, which she gave her during their conversation.

Ye Zhaozhao knew that the old lady's son and daughter did not live in the area and would only come back once a year for the Chinese New Year.

"Aunt Hua, come to our house for a meal whenever you're hungry."

"good."

She agreed verbally, but the old lady was thinking that she couldn't come every day in the future.

With nothing else to do, the two chatted about the people who lived in the neighborhood.

Ye Zhaozhao rarely comes to the courtyard house and doesn't know much about the people who live in the neighborhood.

Aunt Hua said she knew it; she had lived here for decades.

"To the right of your house live a mother and her two children."

Aunt Hua said it was a woman raising three children alone, and her husband worked in a factory.

But it seems he was sent away for further training, and that trip lasted for several months.

People in the neighborhood have all sorts of opinions. Some say the man has settled down elsewhere and won't come back, while others say he'll return once he finishes his studies.

You'd better watch out for these two kids.

Aunt Hua saw that Ye Zhaozhao was kind-hearted, so she gave her a heads-up, but Ye Zhaozhao didn't understand.

Aunt Hua told her.

“These two kids often steal other people’s food. Which house in this neighborhood hasn’t been robbed by them?”

When they moved in, Aunt Hua even went to see what was going on.

After throwing away the peach shortbread, she stopped coming to play with their family. Ye Zhaozhao nodded.

"Understood, Aunt Hua."

Ye Zhaozhao thought that the bowl of meat hadn't been a waste; she had gotten what she wanted to know.

It was firsthand information, and Aunt Hua felt that since she had eaten their flesh, it would be a disservice not to say something useful.

"Don't the adults care about them?"

"Don't even mention it. Every time I go to her, she's more reasonable than you."

Everyone felt sorry for her, saying it wasn't easy for her to raise two children alone, especially since her husband wasn't around.

It's not easy for orphans and widows, especially since what they lost weren't valuables.

So she didn't argue with her. After talking about the neighbor on the right, Aunt Hua then moved on to the left.

She and another family lived on the left, and that family was no quiet place either.

"They have a daughter named Xiao Jia, and that child is so pitiful."

As she spoke, Aunt Hua was on the verge of tears, lamenting that the child's parents didn't love him.

Her brothers didn't approve of her either, so they let her go when they were sent to the countryside.

The child finally got into university and came back, but her family wanted her to give up her university spot to her brother.

She refused to give up, so she moved out of the house.

This child is having a hard time living alone, and Aunt Hua always gives her food whenever she sees her.

Over time, I became familiar with Aunt Hua.

"I'll introduce you to her next time she comes."

The two chatted for a while longer, then Aunt Hua noticed it was getting late and decided it was time for her to go home.

I made a promise with Ye Zhaozhao to come back next time; there's a lot going on around here.

How could it all be explained in just a sentence or two? Ye Zhaozhao got up and saw Aunt Hua off. It was almost time, and Shen Bo's boyfriend was also arriving.

After Ye Zhaozhao helped bring the dishes up, Shen Bo brought the girl to the door.

"Siwan, this is my grandmother."

Shen Bo introduced Fang Siwan to each of them one by one, and when he saw Ye Zhaozhao...

Fang Siwan's eyes lit up; she was dressed so beautifully that even she couldn't compare.

After exchanging greetings, Shen Bo gestured for Fang Siwan to sit down, and Fang Siwan glanced at Ye Zhaozhao.

She sat down decisively next to her, smiled but didn't say anything.

This girl is simple-minded and wears her heart on her sleeve; Shenbo is honest and kind.

The two were a good match; Fang Siwan worked in a machinery factory.

She has an older brother and an older sister. Both of them are married. Her brother and sister-in-law work in a factory, and her sister works as a sales clerk at a supply and marketing cooperative.

Her brother-in-law works in the purchasing department of the supply and marketing cooperative. She is the only child left in the family. If she hadn't reached the age limit, her parents would have really been reluctant to marry her off.

"Siwan, you should tell your parents to arrange a time for both sides to meet and discuss your marriage."

Shen Jianli and Liang Hudie always felt that their son had gotten incredibly lucky, otherwise, how could such a good girl have taken a liking to their son?

"Okay, I'll talk to them later."

Fang Siwan didn't think so; she genuinely liked Shen Bo.

Besides, her own family was just an ordinary one, so Ye Zhaozhao felt that Fang Siwan should marry Shen Bo.

Not feeling wronged at all, Fang Siwan and Shen Bo said that as long as Shen Bo continues to work hard, he might become a big boss in the future. They chatted back and forth at the dinner table.

Everyone felt embarrassed, but Ye Zhaozhao thought it was all normal for this meal.

Fang Siwan ate a lot and originally wanted to chat with Ye Zhaozhao for a bit.

But it was getting late after dinner, so everyone asked Shen Bo to take Fang Siwan home.

Even from behind, the two of them look very well-matched.

"Siwan, remember to tell your family when you get back that I'll come over another day."

"knew."

Fang Siwan felt that Shen Bo was being a little too hasty, but she also wanted to be with him every day.

After escorting Fang Siwan to the alley entrance, Shen Bo turned and went home.

Just as Ye Zhaozhao and her team were clearing the table, two dirty children arrived.

He picked up the remaining ribs on the table and started gnawing on them, leaving everyone bewildered.

Whose child is this?

The old lady asked a question, but no one answered. She then asked the two children.

"Whose family are you two?"

The two children ignored her and kept grabbing food from the table. Ye Zhaozhao couldn't stand it anymore.

It seems these are the two kids next door that Aunt Hua was talking about.

This wasn't just stealing; it was outright robbery, judging by the state of these two children.

Ye Zhaozhao suddenly felt disgusted; the children were clearly adorable.
