"Don't be sad, it was her own choice after all."
Mi Shan walked over slowly, took off her coat, and covered Chun Yu with it.
She didn't know what to say; from her perspective, she shouldn't have sympathized with the master and servant.
"Mi Huifei, thank you."
“Those beads were made by me,” Lin Zhaoyuan murmured, her expression dazed.
“I know.” Mi Shan’s eyes were calm.
"You knew all of this?"
Lin Zhaoyuan was taken aback. "That's right, you know everything. With your intelligence, what could possibly escape your eyes?"
"But I didn't know that the Empress ordered me to make those beads specifically to target you."
"She told me that the curtains in her bedroom were old, and she heard that glass beads were clear and lustrous, so she asked me to make a bag of them for her to see."
Mi Shan listened to her muttering to herself, looking dazed, and frowned: "What you're saying is meaningless. Why do you want to work for the Empress?"
A dark glint flashed in Lin Zhaoyuan's eyes, as if she had something to hide, but she remained silent.
Mi Shan knew that she wouldn't say anything.
I don't intend to ask any further questions.
Instead, they left directly and returned to the Jade Hibiscus Palace.
But as they passed through a semi-circular gate in a garden, at the moment of turning the corner, someone covered their mouth, pulled them aside, and led them over the wall into a dense forest of flowers.
She looked up in surprise and saw Li Xuanche's face in the shadows cast by the flowers.
His eyes were filled with resentment, and he lowered his voice:
"Consort Mi Hui really stole the show at the banquet today."
"What do you want to do!" Mi Shan struggled, her fair face flushed with shame and indignation.
"You and my second brother are so blatant, you really don't respect Father Emperor. It's only because Father Emperor is old and blindly confident that he hasn't thought of doubting you."
"But I see it all. You can fool everyone else, but you can't fool me."
Li Changyu's voice was as dangerous as a scorpion's.
Although a flicker of panic crossed Mi Shan's face, she quickly regained her composure and gazed intently at him:
"All of this is just your imagination, Your Highness. I have said before that I have no relationship with the Crown Prince."
“I know you want to defeat the Crown Prince, but I believe you would prefer to deal with him fairly and squarely, rather than taking me hostage for no reason and blaming me for this.”
Mi Shan slowly raised her eyes, her voice soft yet firm.
"Of course, if the Crown Prince doesn't understand what I'm saying, I can use other methods to teach you a lesson."
Upon hearing this, Li Xuanche trembled.
A flicker of fear crossed his eyes.
The hand that was holding her loosened its grip slightly without her realizing it.
"You vixen!"
He had experienced Mi Shan's sorcery firsthand, and he never wanted to go through that kind of ordeal again.
"Is this how you usually interact with Li Changyu? What exactly does he like about you?"
"I will count to three."
"one,"
"two,"
"three."
Li Xuanche released her at lightning speed, a hint of fear and displeasure appearing on his handsome and arrogant face.
"Damn it, how many people have you fooled with your innocent looks!"
"One day, I will defeat the Crown Prince and, incidentally, tear off your disguise, exposing you two adulterous lovers to the light of day."
However, Mi Shan no longer paid any attention to him.
He continued walking forward on his own.
But the next second, an arrow shot out from nowhere.
In her wide, surprised pupils, it swiftly darted through the flowers and shadows of the trees, brushing past her and heading straight for Li Xuanche's brow.
Li Xuanche was a martial artist, so he could naturally sense the danger approaching.
Almost without hesitation, he instantly dodged to the side.
The arrow pierced the tree trunk, splitting it open with countless cracks.
Both Mi Shan and Li Xuanche showed expressions of shock.
What kind of power does it take to cause such damage to a tree trunk?
Who is it?
"Who is lurking in the shadows, plotting to kill me!"
Li Xuanche panicked and kept backing away, looking around.
But from behind layers of dark green leaves, a tall, upright figure dressed in black slowly emerged.
Li Changyu's pale face remained expressionless.
Holding a bow and arrow,
Glancing sideways,
He stared down at him with cold eyes.
"It's me."
"Your Highness." Mi Shan was slightly startled, her eyelashes trembled, and she bowed her head in greeting.
Li Changyu responded with a nod, then walked slowly to her side, coldly staring at Li Xuanche.
I asked Mi Shan a question,
Are you alright?
Mi Shan shook her head.
Li Xuanche clenched his fists tightly, glaring at them with resentment, his eyes almost bloodshot.
"Li Changyu, how dare you attempt to assassinate me!"
"Assassination? I was just passing by when I saw you being disrespectful to Consort Mi Hui. I thought you were some treacherous official who had sneaked into the palace to cause trouble, so I thought I would act on behalf of Heaven."
"But I never expected it to be you, my brother, you traitor."
"You—you dare to falsely accuse me?"
"Whether I made a false accusation or not, several pairs of eyes here could see it clearly."
It turned out that Achan and Xun'er were also nearby.
They were just walking behind, a step too slow, when their master suddenly disappeared.
Achan and Xun'er then searched everywhere and happened to run into the Crown Prince, so they told him.
Li Changyu then walked into the depths of the forest. Interestingly, perhaps it was because the Heart-Eating Worm sensed something.
