Chapter 175 Searching for Mother's Whereabouts

We arrived at Changban Bridge.

There were three or five houses nestled in the village, surrounded by lush trees.

The thought that her mother might be among them filled Mi Shan with both joy and anticipation.

She stepped forward and knocked on door after door.

After inquiring, nothing was found.

"Who are you? We've never seen you before. And the person you're looking for isn't here. Go back."

I asked them all.

No results were found.

Mi Shan couldn't help but wonder, "Kong Wang is certain he found this place, so why is he not sure?"

"Let's look again."

Suddenly, the door that had just been closed opened again.

“Wait, you just said you were looking for a woman, right? I suddenly remembered there’s a cave in the back mountain, where a homeless mother and child live. They might be the people you’re looking for.”

"A homeless mother and child?"

Mi Shan did not have high hopes.

Give it a try.

Mi Shan and Xie Ling exchanged a glance and began climbing up the mountain.

People at the foot of the mountain came out of curiosity to watch them.

In order to avoid attracting attention, the two dressed in ordinary clothes and did not use their light-footed skills.

They climbed to the top with great difficulty.

Finally, we saw the cave.

The entrance to the cave was covered with wooden planks, and some miscellaneous items and children's broken toys were piled up outside.

Mi Shan knocked on the door.

The door opened.

An elderly woman with a hunched back came to open the door. She looked quite old, with gray hair and her face hidden in the darkness, so Mi Shan couldn't see her clearly.

He immediately concluded that she couldn't possibly be his mother.

Who are you looking for?

The old woman asked in a frail voice, noticing Mi Shan looking inside.

There was only one small child lying on a dilapidated crate.

"Is there no one else here besides you?"

"No, it's always just me and my child."

"Your child?" Xie Ling's voice was cold. "Your age doesn't seem like you would have such a young child."

He even suspected that the old woman had stolen the child.

"What do you mean by that? Just because I'm old doesn't mean I can't have children. He's my adopted child. What's it to you? Please leave and don't disturb our rest!"

The old woman waved her hand to shoo them away.

Mi Shan frowned and retreated with Xie Ling.

Moonlight fell on Mi Shan's face.

The old woman then saw her clearly and was suddenly taken aback.

At that moment, Mi Shan saw her face covered with unsightly scars and was suddenly startled.

The moment their eyes met.

There seemed to be a light shining in the old woman's eyes.

A strange flutter rose in Mi Shan's heart.

She suddenly had a strong premonition.

This person—this old woman with a scarred face and a frail appearance—

It was her mother!

Garuda basket!
