But her face remained calm, without the slightest hint of panic, only a hint of urgency in her voice:
"Your Highness, you absolutely mustn't. Xiao Mingzi would never dare to do that; there might be some misunderstanding."
After Mi Shan finished speaking softly, she glanced at Xiao Mingzi.
The latter was terrified, but still shook his head at her.
It's as if he's saying he didn't.
The eldest prince harbored resentment towards him because his mother was confined to her quarters, which is why he deliberately made things difficult for him.
Mi Shan wouldn't be unable to understand such a simple reason.
"Does Consort Mi Hui mean that I, the prince, am lying?"
"I dare not."
