The whistling wind swept past my ears.
Mi Shan was being carried by him through the dense, lush bamboo forest, a sharp pain shooting through her shoulder.
She frowned and looked over, noticing that Li Changyu's shoulder was stained red with blood, a patch of red that had seeped through, and knew that he was struggling to hold on.
But there were still pursuers behind them.
Li Xuanche heard that masked men had kidnapped two "demons" and injured Prince Pingxi and Master Kongwang.
He immediately led an elite force to pursue them.
Li Changyu didn't look back, only focused on moving forward, occasionally landing lightly on the ground, crushing the branches and leaves and stirring up waves of air.
Blood,
More and more people are leaving.
A thin layer of cold sweat appeared on his forehead.
The scenery ahead became blurry, seemingly impossible to hide from the dazzling sunlight.
"You'll collapse if this continues." Mi Shan forced herself to calm down and said softly but urgently, "Li Xuanche is catching up soon."
"If all else fails, put me down first."
"No way." Li Changyu refused without hesitation. "What will happen when it's time to put you down?"
Mi Shan knew what he meant by "the time"—today was the most crucial day.
Her cheeks flushed slightly. She looked away, her voice cool: "It's alright. You'll find me then."
"The Gu worms will emit signals to let you know my location."
Li Changyu was taken aback, and then her resolve wavered, her beautiful face showing a hint of hesitation.
"Stop thinking about it, there's no time." Mi Shan looked at his other hand, which was holding Bai Lingyu.
The woman's face was so pale it was almost transparent, her hair hung down in disarray, and a fox tail was faintly visible beneath her skirt. Her lips trembled weakly.
Are you planning to abandon me?
She was in a daze and could no longer hear what they were saying; she was just muttering to herself.
"I know I've done a lot to offend you, but Mi Shan, I don't want to die. Please don't abandon me."
"Kong Wang recited a spirit-binding incantation to me."
“The Buddhist beads, the golden bowl, and the holy water in his hands all have a restraining effect on me.”
“If I fall into his hands, I’m definitely dead. My lord, please don’t abandon Yu Yu for the sake of all these years I’ve been by your side.”
Seeing her pitiful appearance, Mi Shan had a sudden thought: she was, after all, just a fox.
What evil intentions could a fox possibly have?
Compared to most of the people in this deep palace, Mi Shan felt that she was at least frank and straightforward.
And if she falls into the hands of that group, she might indeed be annihilated.
Li Changyu clearly had a use for her.
She didn't need to gamble, and she knew how Li Changyu would choose, so there was no need for her to humiliate herself.
"Put me down and take her with you. I'm not a monster; even if they capture me, they can't do anything to me."
After Mi Shan finished speaking, she took advantage of Li Changyu's unpreparedness and pushed him away forcefully.
He turned and ran in another direction.
Bai Lingyu was stunned, staring at her retreating figure with disbelief in her eyes.
Mi Shan, she actually...
They will prioritize their own survival in critical moments.
She subconsciously looked up at Li Changyu and noticed a fleeting hint of concern on his cold, handsome face.
But it quickly disappeared without a trace.
Forget about saying goodbye, he glanced at Bai Lingyu.
"Can you completely transform into a fox? It would make it easier to escape."
"Okay." Bai Lingyu nodded, and after a wisp of smoke, she transformed into a fox.
Li Changyu, with the fox in one hand, swiftly darted forward.
at the same time.
Li Xuanche, who was behind him, saw that Mi Shan had broken free and run in another direction.
Her eyes flickered, and she coldly gave the order.
"You guys keep chasing that man in black. I'm going to capture Mi Shan!"
-
On the other side.
Inside Yunyin Temple.
Prince Pingxi and Master Kongwang helped each other as they entered the hall.
The Empress Dowager sat on a high seat, with the Empress on her left and Consort Ru on her right.
Upon seeing them enter, Empress Ru immediately stood up and pressed for answers.
"What happened to them? Were they brought to justice?"
They got away!
The Prince of Pingxi said irritably.
They ran away? That's great!
Empress Ru breathed a sigh of relief, her hands, adorned with exquisite nail guards, gently patting her chest.
“Brother, in my opinion, Bai Lingyu is somewhat suspicious. When the holy water was splashed on her, she reacted so strongly, as if she had been doused with boiling water. It seems rather strange.”
"But Consort Mi Hui is innocent!"
“We all know that the water was drugged, and we were safe because we took the antidote beforehand.”
"I originally thought that you were only targeting Bai Lingyu, but I didn't expect that you would even include Mi Shan in your scheme!"
Empress Ru's tone was full of regret.
"If I had known this would happen, I would not have agreed to participate in this troublemaking operation."
Upon hearing this, a cold glint flashed across Empress Rouci's face, and she looked at her with sharp eyes.
"What you're saying, Sister Ru? You and Consort Mi Hui have never had any relationship. She's close to Bai Lingyu, and I've personally witnessed her using sorcery. Whether she's a demon or not is for Master Kongwang to decide. Why are you meddling in this?"
Empress Rouci looked at Consort Ru with a suspicious gaze, as if trying to see through her.
Consort Ru disagreed and went to the Empress Dowager's side, speaking softly and coquettishly: "Your Majesty, I am just speaking the truth. You have met Consort Mi Hui before. She does not seem like a bad person. Now that they have all run away, if they are caught again, you must carefully distinguish between them and not let the villains harm her."
After saying that, he secretly glanced at Shen Rouci.
