Although Wu Muzhen was comforting Fang Hongyu with her words, Fang Hongyu was still very worried. She placed the nourishing soup on the table, "Aunt Wu, how much longer until the special medicine can be developed?"
As long as she did not obtain the management rights of the Tang Family, she would not be able to rest easy.
"Soon," Wu Muzhen continued, "We have already found Bayezhen, and developing the special medicine is just a matter of time. We are only missing the final experiment."
After all, this medicine was to be consumed by people.
Whether it had reached the desired effect would depend on the later experiments.
Fang Hongyu nodded her head.
Wu Muzhen continued, "By the way, Hongyu, I’ve added many precious medicinal ingredients to this nourishing soup. Take some home for Tangtang later. It’s good for young people to drink more of this for their health."
"Thank you," Fang Hongyu looked at Wu Muzhen.
Wu Muzhen smiled and said, "You child, I have known your aunt for so many years, we are like sisters. Since you are Sister Youling’s close niece, you are like my own daughter. Why speak of such formalities between us?"
Fang Hongyu sighed, "I feel that Tangtang doesn’t appreciate your efforts; you do so much for her, yet she does not recognize your kindness."
Thinking of her daughter’s attitude towards Wu Muzhen, Fang Hongyu’s eyes filled with guilt.
"Aunt Wu, I haven’t raised Tangtang well."
Wu Muzhen’s face still bore a smile, "Tangtang is a very smart and likable child. She’s just too young now and doesn’t consider things comprehensively. You don’t need to worry so much. As she grows older, she will surely understand our good intentions."
"As long as you don’t mind her attitude, that’s good," Fang Hongyu also breathed a sigh of relief.
"What would I bother about with Tangtang? There’s no one in this world who hopes more for her to succeed. I don’t have a granddaughter, so Tangtang is my only granddaughter. Don’t think too much and don’t stress yourself too much."
Fang Hongyu nodded again, picking up the nourishing soup from the table and continuing to drink.
Wu Muzhen then walked towards the inner room.
When Wu Muzhen came out again, she had an insulated bucket in her hand.
"Hongyu, remember to take this home later."
"Okay."
An hour later.
Fang Hongyu returned to the Tang Family home.
Lv Tang immediately ran over, "Mom, I heard that Grandma went to the appraisal center early this morning."
Appraisal center?
Fang Hongyu frowned slightly.
Could it be because of Shen Lijun?
"Where is Secretary Zhang?" Fang Hongyu then asked.
"Secretary Zhang came early in the morning, he is now in the study," Lv Tang followed Fang Hongyu’s footsteps, "Mom, were you helping out at Grandma Wu’s clinic all night yesterday?"
"Yes."
Lv Tang looked at Fang Hongyu, not knowing what else to say.
She only hoped that the two old folks would soon come to their senses, see Fang Hongyu’s good deeds, and not let all her efforts be in vain.
Otherwise, everything Fang Hongyu did would be wasted.
Fang Hongyu handed the insulated bucket to Lv Tang, "This is a nourishing soup that Grandma Fang specially asked me to bring for you. Make sure you drink it."
Nourishing soup?
Lv Tang curiously opened the lid.
Instantly, a strong medicinal scent wafted from inside the insulated bucket.
"It smells awful," Lv Tang pinched her nose, "Mom, what is this? Can you really drink it?"
Wu Muzhen was after all in cahoots with Tang Shaowei and Fang Youling.
She wouldn’t have poisoned it, would she?
Thinking this, Lv Tang’s eyes filled with wariness.
Seeing her daughter like this, Fang Hongyu frowned, "Tangtang, this is a gesture of kindness from your Grandma Wu! How can you speak like that?"
Lv Tang pouted, "It’s true, though, this stuff smells so bad."
"I’m telling you, in this world, besides your father and me, no one else will treat you as well as Grandma Wu!" Fang Hongyu, tired of arguing with her daughter, insisted, "You’re going to drink all this nourishing soup right now, in front of me!"
What?
Lv Tang widened her eyes.
Had her mother gone mad?
How could she trust Wu Muzhen so much?
"Aren’t you afraid it’s poisoned?" Lv Tang continued to ask.
"I know what kind of person your Grandma Wu is better than you do," Fang Hongyu sternly said, "Drink it right now."
Knowing Fang Hongyu’s temperament and aware that she was not joking, Lv Tang took a deep breath, picked up the bowl from the insulated bucket, and gulped down the bitter medicinal broth, enduring the pungent taste.
Only after seeing her daughter finish the nourishing soup did Fang Hongyu finally relax, "Your Grandma Wu has always been alone; remember to keep her company when you have the time."
"I know," Lv Tang nodded.
Fang Hongyu looked at her with a stern expression, "Tangtang, you are twenty years old now; you should understand my good intentions."
