Chapter 1035 Nothing special

That night, there were gusts of chilly wind in the Zhao Prison of the Dali Temple, causing the candlelight to flicker. Intermittent screams came from the depths of the prison. The crimson official robe on Yu Qizhe appeared dark red in the dim light, contrasting with the bloodstains dripping from the whip in his hand onto the ground.

He looked grim and indifferent at the man who had fainted on the rack. He raised the whip and scooped a bucket of salt water and poured it over his head.

The man on the rack was wearing a green official uniform that had been whipped to tatters and covered in blood. He groaned, his face showing pain, and when he opened his eyes, he caught a glimpse of Yu Qizhe raising his hand. He was so scared that he closed his eyes and dodged.

"Still refusing to say?" Yu Qizhe said in a cold voice, leisurely playing with the whip in his hand.

"Yu Qizhe, although I am only a chief clerk, I am also a sixth-rank official. You arrested a sixth-rank official for no reason, set up a private prison, and abused private punishment. It is simply lawless!"

What he got in return was a whip hitting him on the head. The man screamed in pain, the skin and flesh in his eye sockets cracked, and the whip marks ran from his forehead to his chest. The barbs pierced his flesh, leaving a bloody mess.

The man seemed unable to bear it, and shouted in a pretentious manner: "Yu Qizhe, how many days have you been an official? Do you really think that this capital is a place where you can run wild! As long as I don't confess, there will be people outside who want to kill you and torture your family. I'll see how long you can be so arrogant!"

Yu Qizhe sneered after hearing this, and the palm holding the whip tightened slightly, and the veins on the back of his palm bulged due to the force.

He raised his hand and threw away the whip, replacing it with a red-hot iron, and pressed it against the man's chest with a steady hand and a ruthless heart.

The man screamed in pain, his whole body shaking, his face twisted and red due to the extreme pain, and in an instant his entire face was covered with beads of sweat. The whole Zhaoyu was filled with the smell of burning flesh, accompanied by terrifying sizzling sounds. Until the man tilted his head and fainted again from the pain, Yu Qizhe took back the branding iron covered with flesh fragments and threw it into the red-hot charcoal basin.

There was a sudden clapping sound behind him. Yu Qizhe turned sideways and raised his head slightly. The cold and fierce look on his face had not yet faded. Seeing who was coming, Yu Qizhe narrowed his peach blossom eyes slightly and said calmly, "Why is Master Cheng interested in coming to the Dali Temple?"

Cheng Ying, wearing a scarlet gown and with his black hair tied up high, walked leisurely over. Although he was in the Zhaoyu of the Dali Temple, he felt as relaxed as if he was in his Silijian. He even glanced at each cell with interest.

"I'm really surprised that Lord Yu has such a cruel side." Cheng Ying walked to the wall where the torture instruments were placed, picked up one with great interest, played with it in his hand, and then threw it away and replaced it with another one. He said with some disdain, "These things are not as good as those of my East Factory. No wonder Lord Yu can't get what he wants even after torturing people like this!"

Yu Qizhe dipped his hands into the basin beside him, and after washing them, he slowly said, "I wonder why the seal holder came to my Dali Temple?"

Cheng Ying threw down the torture instrument in his hand, took out a handkerchief and wiped each finger meticulously, raised his chin slightly, and said meaningfully: "I am here to see you."

Yu Qizhe watched Cheng Ying throw the handkerchief she had used to wipe her hands into the charcoal basin. His expression did not change at all because of Cheng Ying's words. "Have you seen the palm print?"

Cheng Ying's eyes were full of interest. Her narrow and long eyes were fixed on Yu Qizhe's face. She looked him up and down and commented, "I've seen it. It's nothing special."
