Chapter 111: Playing the Hooligan

When they found the end of the cliff, a touch of lush green caught their eyes in the cracks between the rocks. Yu Jiao's eyes lit up and a happy smile appeared on her face, "Found it!"

Yu Qizhe looked at the herb. It had only two leaves, which were thick, round, and full of water, giving people a feeling of vitality.

Yu Jiao took out a small jar filled with water from the grass basket, dug out the whole Yao grass with a small shovel, put it into the jar, held it carefully with both hands, raised her little face and smiled at Yu Qizhe, "Hard work pays off, we are so lucky."

Yu Qizhe looked at the bright smile on her face and curled the corners of his lips. Yu Jiao tidied herself up, and the two of them walked down the mountain holding umbrellas.

The way down the mountain was more difficult to walk than the way up. When we crossed the top of the mountain, it had already darkened, and the forest was obscured by rain and fog, making it difficult to see the road under our feet.

Yu Jiao looked at the two people who had been holding hands tightly together for some time and said, "Let's go to the cave to spend the night and go down the mountain at dawn tomorrow."

"Okay." Yu Qizhe responded.

The two of them groped their way to the cave that Yu Qiaoshan had taken Yu Jiao to before. Stepping on the dry land inside the cave, they felt relaxed all over.

Putting the umbrella and straw basket on the ground, Yu Jiao grabbed some hay and firewood, lit them with a tinderbox, and said to Yu Qizhe, who was soaking wet, "Take off your clothes and dry them before putting them on."

Yu Qizhe was wearing two outer shirts. He took off one and used branches to support himself next to the fire.

Yu Jiao rummaged in the haystack for a while, found the small iron pot left by Zhou Xiang and the others, went outside the cave to fill it with some rainwater, and put it on the fire to cook.

Seeing that she was busy all the time, Yu Qizhe raised his hand and held her arm, saying, "Sit down and dry your clothes."

"I...let's see if the cakes in the straw basket are still edible." After Yu Jiao finished speaking, Yu Qizhe did not let go of her hand. He forcefully pulled her to sit next to the fire. He stood up and walked to the straw basket and took out the cakes that Yu Jiao had put in it. The dough of the cakes had been soaked by the rain and was mushy beyond recognition.

"It seems that I can't eat anymore." Yu Jiao asked, "Are you hungry?"

The two hadn't eaten since they came up the mountain. Yu Qizhe shook his head and said, "Not hungry."

"Let's drink more when the water boils. We can stay full until tomorrow morning and then go down the mountain." Yu Jiao said with a smile while looking at the small iron pot on the fire.

Yu Qizhe sat back down by the fire, and after hearing what she said, he smiled and said, "Okay."

After a short while, the water in the iron pot boiled. Neither of them brought a water bag when they went up the mountain, so they could only drink directly from the iron pot.

After letting it dry for a while, Yu Jiao handed the water to Yu Qizhe, "Drink it first to warm your body."

Yu Qizhe pushed the small iron pot towards Yu Jiao, and without waiting for Yu Jiao to speak, he said, "I'm not as weak as you think. At this time, as a man, I should take care of women."

Yu Jiao's almond-shaped eyes slightly curved when she heard that. She stopped refusing and lowered her head to drink some hot boiled water. She felt her body, which had been chilled by the rain, instantly warmed up and felt much more comfortable.

She handed the small iron pot to Yu Qizhe. Seeing that he had only taken off one coat and the rest of his clothes were still wet, she kindly said, "You can take off all your clothes and dry them. I promise not to peek."

Yu Qizhe raised his eyes to look at her, swallowed the hot water in his mouth, and shook his head, "No need."

Yu Jiao narrowed her almond-shaped eyes, curled her lips and looked at him with a burning gaze, and said jokingly, "What are you afraid of? Shy? I'm not afraid of you taking off your clothes and being a hooligan, so why are you, a grown man, so timid?"
