Chapter 246: Encountering a rescue

Yu Fuling also saw the oncoming carriage. She was so frightened that her face suddenly changed. She asked Yu Jiao incoherently, "What...what should we do...should we...jump off the carriage?"

Yu Jiao made a quick decision at this critical moment. She picked up the long sword that Sun Wu dropped in the carriage and said, "Kill the horse. If the carriage flips over, don't worry about me, just jump down quickly."

The long sword was extremely heavy, and Yu Jiao had a hard time just holding it. She used all her strength to lift the sword up, knowing that it was impossible for her to kill the horse with one blow. So she said to Yu Fuling, "As long as the horse stops in pain, you jump off the carriage."

Yu Fuling nodded vigorously.

Seeing the two carriages getting closer, Yu Jiao signaled Yu Fuling to let go of her hand. She knelt tremblingly on the shaft, raised the long knife with both hands, and slashed hard at the horse's belly.

Liu Zi, who was driving the opposite car, became alert when he saw the carriage galloping towards him. He caught a glimpse of the inconspicuous "Mu" mark on the curtain. Although he was wondering why the Mu family's carriage was running back, he hurriedly asked Gu Yun in the compartment, "Young Marquis, is this the carriage you are chasing?"

Upon hearing this, Gu Yun drew aside the curtain and saw Yu Jiao holding a knife to kill the horse. Her petite and thin body was hanging on the shaft like a drifting duckweed, trembling and in danger of falling off at any time.

In an instant, the long knife in Yu Jiao's hand had fallen. She chose the horse's belly, which was a relatively soft place on the horse. Yu Jiao used all her strength in this knife, and blood immediately came out of the horse's belly. The horse felt pain, neighed, and raised its hooves to kick around wildly.

The carriage swayed and shook like a small boat that had been hit by strong winds and huge waves.

Yu Jiao was kneeling on the shaft of the cart, which was already dangerous. Now she was thrown out by the earth-shaking situation.

She subconsciously protected the vulnerable parts of her body.

When Yu Jiao's knife fell, Gu Yun got out of the carriage, tiptoed on the horse's back of their carriage, flew up, rushed to Yu Jiao's carriage, grabbed Yu Jiao who fell off the shaft, and held her in his arms.

Yu Jiao was surprised to find that someone had caught her. She breathed a sigh of relief, and when she saw that it was Gu Yun, she hurriedly said, "My sister is still in the car."

The horse that was chopped by Yu Jiao had gone mad. Yu Fuling didn't dare to jump out of the car. She held on to the wall of the car tightly and dared not move.

Gu Yun embraced Yu Jiao and landed on the ground. He raised his hand and hit the horse on the head. He was a very skilled martial artist, and this palm strike contained his internal force. The mad horse was killed instantly by his blow and fell to the ground, deader than dead.

The carriage finally stopped. Yu Fuling's face turned pale from the shaking. She climbed down with weak legs, bent over and started to vomit.

The sound of horse hooves was heard not far away. After shaking off Sun Wu's group of people, Yu Qizhe rode a horse tied to a tree and galloped after them.

Seeing that the frightened horse was dead and Yu Jiao and Yu Fuling were both fine, Yu Qizhe's worry disappeared. He got off the horse and walked towards Yu Jiao.

Glancing at Gu Yun standing next to Yu Jiao, Yu Qizhe guessed that it was Gu Yun who killed the horse and that was why the carriage stopped.

"Are you hurt?" Yu Qizhe asked with concern.

He felt a little guilty that he shouldn't have thrown the silver ingot without being completely sure. However, the situation was critical at the time. If he let those men take Yu Jiao and Yu Fuling away, who knows what would have happened.

"I'm fine." Yu Jiao shook her head. Seeing that Yu Fuling was still bending over and vomiting, she walked towards Yu Fuling and said, "Sister, are you okay?"

Yu Fuling waved her hand. Liu Ziqi had already gotten off the carriage. He took out a water bag from the carriage and handed it to Yu Fuling.

Yu Fuling took it, rinsed her mouth, drank some water, and then she felt better.

"Why was the horse frightened? Fortunately, we happened to meet them, otherwise Miss Yu and her sister would be in danger." Liu Ziqi asked in a gentle voice.

Yu Jiao was very grateful to the two men who happened to pass by and saved her and Yu Fuling. She said, "We encountered a thief who blocked the road and robbed us, and the horses were startled."

"Did we encounter a thief?" Liu Ziqi looked into the carriage, but did not see the thief, which made him a little confused.

Yu Jiao explained, "The thieves hijacked my sister's and my carriage, and my sister and I kicked the three people off the horses."

Gu Yun couldn't help but sigh when he heard this. With Yu Jiao's small body, she was able to kick the thieves off the carriage. Those petty thieves were too weak.

Speaking of the gang of thieves, Yu Jiao added, "The gang of thieves should not have left yet. I would like to ask Master Liu and Master Gu to help capture the thieves."

After all, Gu Yun saved her and Yu Fuling, so she already owed him a favor, so she might as well ask them for help to completely get rid of the group of thieves.

She was curious about why the gang of thieves came here. They were not after money, but wanted to kidnap her and Yu Fuling.

Liu Ziqi heard the voice and asked, "Where are those thieves now?"

Yu Qizhe said, "It's right in front. I was just trying to catch up with the carriage, and my uncle and his men were fighting with the thieves."

Yu Qiaoshan and his companions had never learned martial arts. Except for Yu Qiaoshan who often did farm work and had quite a bit of strength, Yu Jinshu and his companions had been studying all year round and were scholars who were weak as a kite. He hurriedly chased after them. If the group of thieves were unwilling to give up, they would surely have captured Yu Qiaoshan and his companions by now.

Liu Ziqi sighed, "In broad daylight, those thieves are too rampant. Fortunately, Miss Yu and you sisters are fine. Gu Yun's skills are not a problem in dealing with a few thieves. Miss Yu, don't worry about this matter. Since we have encountered it, we will take care of it."

Hearing that he agreed to help, Yu Qizhe bowed and said, "Thank you in advance, gentlemen."

Yu Qizhe exchanged the horse he was riding for the carriage. Yu Jiao and Yu Fuling got on the carriage. Yu Qizhe drove the carriage, and Liu Ziqi and his companions followed behind, rushing forward.

Not long after, they returned to the place where Yu Jiao and the others were kidnapped. As Yu Qizhe had expected, the gang of thieves had already kidnapped Yu Qiaoshan and the others and tied them up with ropes.

Sun Wu and his companions were planning to ride horses to chase Yu Jiao and her companion. In order to set up an ambush before Yu Jiao and her companions, they rode fast horses and tied the horses in the woods beside the road. Someone had already gone to the woods to lead the horses.

"Brother, look! Their carriage is back!" A sharp-eyed man saw the approaching carriage and hurriedly said to Sun Wu.

Sun Wu looked up and saw that it was indeed the carriage that Yu Jiao had been riding in. He was a little surprised that the two women did not take the opportunity to escape, but actually dared to come back and fall into the trap, saving him the effort of looking for them.

He said to the group of brothers behind him, "Get your weapons, be careful this time!"

Because he didn't know what Yu Jiao used to stab him, his arm became numb and he had no feeling. Sun Wu didn't dare to underestimate Yu Jiao at this moment.

Fortunately, his arm was only numb for a moment and he has regained consciousness now.

"That's not right, brother. Why is there a carriage following them?" a man asked in confusion.
