Chapter 745: Sadness and Joy

Yang Yuanchen's face became even uglier, and he felt a breath stuck in his chest. Rumors had been circulating outside for a long time. Now Yan Jie'er had no choice but to marry into the Zhou family. Even if the Zhou family wanted to take a concubine together, which was really a humiliation to his Yang family, he could only nod and agree.

In order to deal with the rumors, the marriage between the two families was naturally arranged as soon as possible. Two days later, Yang Jiyan was put in an ill-fitting wedding dress by the maid in her family and hurriedly carried to the Zhou family.

Madam Yang has been crying since the accident, and she fainted many times. Now she sees her daughter, whom she has raised for so many years, married in such a hurry, without a wedding dress or a betrothal gift, even worse than the favored concubines, and married on the same day with another woman, and the three of them worshiped heaven and earth together, which was so humiliating, she felt heartbroken! She hated herself for not teaching Sister Yan well, which led her to make such a self-deprecating mistake and ruined her life, and she was distressed about how she would live in the future.

Even if the Zhou family married Yan Jie'er, I'm afraid they would not treat her well.

He was filled with such hatred and blame that not long after the wedding sedan left the house, he suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood and lost consciousness.

The Yang family was in chaos. The maids went to help Madam Yang while rushing to the front hall to call Yang Yuanchen in panic. Yang Yuanchen was horrified and asked someone to call a doctor and hurried back to the main room.

The old woman had just helped Madam Yang lie down on the bed. When she saw Yang Yuanchen coming over, she hurriedly said, "Madam was fine just now, but suddenly she spit out a mouthful of blood and passed out."

Yang Yuanchen stood beside the bed and saw that Madam Yang was pale with blood at the corners of her lips. Although he was extremely anxious, he still asked the maid to fetch some water, wrung out a handkerchief to wipe the blood off Madam Yang, and urged the servant beside him to quickly bring the doctor back.

Wiping the corner of his lips, Yang Yuanchen suddenly paused, his pupils constricted, and he probed towards Madam Yang's nose with trembling fingers. Then, his whole body froze, as if struck by lightning, and his face looked ugly and terrifying.

The maidservants beside him didn't understand what was going on. They just watched Yang Yuanchen tremble all over, suddenly stood up, and shouted, "Doctor, where is the doctor? Why hasn't the doctor come yet?"

The old woman quickly sent the maid to the gatehouse to see if the doctor had arrived.

Yang Yuanchen picked up Madam Yang without saying a word and ran outside. When he reached the screen wall, a servant happened to run in with the doctor.

"Hurry, take a look at what's wrong with Lan Hui?" Yang Yuanchen shouted at the doctor anxiously.

Seeing his horrifying face, the doctor was so frightened that he quickly stepped forward and put his hand on Madam Yang's pulse without caring about anything else.

As soon as he touched her, the doctor's eyes widened and he said in a trembling voice, "Madam...Madam has passed away. Please accept my condolences."

Yang Yuanchen's bloodshot eyes stared at the doctor. The doctor was so frightened that his scalp went numb and he took two steps back.

Yang Yuanchen lowered his head and looked into his arms again. His legs and feet went limp and he knelt on the ground, still holding tightly the slightly warm Madam Yang in his arms.

The servant next to him was so frightened that he also knelt on the ground.

The house was still decorated with brand new red silk and double happiness stickers, but in the blink of an eye they were replaced with white mourning clothes.

When the news reached the Zhou family, they were about to worship heaven and earth. Yang Jiyan, who had been like a walking corpse and living in a daze these days, threw off her veil and ran out without caring about anything.

The guests in Zhou's house didn't know what had happened and were talking about it for a while.

Mrs. Zhou felt it was unlucky when she heard this, so she asked her servants to keep the news secret. She greeted and appeased the guests, and asked Zhou Yun and her cousin to continue the wedding ceremony. She only sent people to the Yang family after the ceremony and banquet were over.
