Chapter 838 No One Can Touch

"You believe Liang Wushuang's words?" Yu Jiao looked up at Cheng Ying's eyes and said word by word, "I believe I am not wrong."

“How dare you!” Cheng Ying suddenly exerted force on Yu Jiao’s neck. Yu Jiao was completely unable to resist and was forced to her knees.

His knees hit the ground, and even though the floor of the private room was covered with a layer of velvet, it still made a "bang" sound.

Yu Jiao's face turned pale with pain. She suddenly felt a little ridiculous. Cheng Ying treasured Liang Wushuang's portrait so much, which showed the position of Liang Wushuang in Cheng Ying's heart. Even if Liang Wushuang lied, what did it matter? How could Cheng Ying not know that Liang Wushuang was lying? This was clearly a blatant preference.

Seeing Yu Jiao gave up resisting and knelt on the ground obediently, Cheng Ying retracted her strength, put her hands behind her back and looked at her with her eyes downcast, her tone still heavy, "When you know you are wrong, you can stand up!"

Yu Jiao laughed at herself, "Since the Governor has determined that I am wrong, then I am wrong."

"Liang Wushuang's face was injured in your private room." Cheng Ying said coldly, "You said it had nothing to do with you?"

Yu Jiao looked up at him and said bluntly, "The governor has been in the palace all day, and he must have seen a lot of jealousy between women. You have been cold to Miss Liang recently, and she is afraid of losing favor, so she deliberately used such a trick. If you say it has something to do with me, then I am just an innocent person implicated! This is originally a matter between you and her, what does it have to do with me?"

Cheng Ying hadn't been contradicted like this for a long time. Of course he could see through Liang Wushuang's tricks, but Liang Wushuang's face could not afford any mistakes.

The scene of kicking the door and seeing Yu Jiao putting the scalpel on Liang Wushuang's face made Cheng Ying particularly nervous, as if he saw someone wielding a knife to do something to his junior sister's face. It even reminded him of the medical dispute in his previous life.

Regardless of whether it was just to scare Liang Wushuang with the scalpel as Yu Jiao said, he could not tolerate such behavior.

Cheng Ying pinched her raised brows, lowered her head and stared at Yu Jiao for a while. For the first time, she realized the helplessness and headache of raising a daughter in other people's families.

He obviously didn't punish her severely out of consideration for her dignity, and he even drove everyone out before making her kneel. But the little girl was still stubborn and talked back to him. If it was someone else... and they were waving a knife in front of him to injure the face that looked like his junior sister, he would be so furious that he wouldn't know what brutal actions he would take.

Cheng Ying calmed down for a while. He sat on a chair and poured himself a cup of tea. After two cups of tea, his anger dissipated a little. He glanced at Yu Jiao who was still kneeling on the ground and said, "Stand up."

Yu Jiao did not move, but only replied, "The punishment is not over yet, Yuning dare not stand up."

Cheng Ying frowned again. He had a bad temper to begin with, and Yu Jiao was an exception for him. He took the initiative to offer a way out, but the little girl refused to accept it, and he lost his patience.

After staring at Yu Jiao for a while, Cheng Ying stood up and said coldly, "If you want to kneel, then kneel down."

Yu Jiao said nothing. Cheng Ying swung his sleeves and walked out. When he reached the door, he paused. Without looking back, he just said, "I will tell you why I want to punish you. You shouldn't have raised your knife to touch Liang Wushuang's face, even to scare her. No one can touch her face."

After saying this, Cheng Ying did not linger any longer and pushed the door open and left the private room.

Yu Jiao knelt down with her back to the door. The sound of the door closing was heard behind her, but Yu Jiao remained kneeling without looking back.

After about two sticks of incense, there was a gentle knock on the door. "Third sister, how are you? Cheng Dugong has left. Before he left, he told me to call you back home after two sticks of incense."

Yu Jiao understood that Cheng Ying was punishing her by making her kneel for two sticks of incense. She slowly stood up, rubbed her painful knees, and said to the door, "I'm fine. I'll leave now."

Just as she was about to go out, she caught a glimpse of a sachet on the ground. Yu Jiao bent down and picked it up. The sachet was made of snow-blue brocade fabric that was tributed from Jiangnan, and it was not embroidered with any small words or patterns.

Judging from the color, it should be what Cheng Ying left behind. It doesn't seem to be of much weight when weighed. Yu Jiao was still angry, thinking that if there was nothing important inside, she could just throw it away and pretend she didn't see it.

She opened it, looked inside, and pulled out a small statue cut out of red paper.
