Chapter 9 Hip-Hip Wind

Yu Qizhe glanced at her indecent sitting posture, lowered his eyes, handed over the purse in his hand, and said, "Here are more than forty coins. You can leave our Yu family tonight."

Yu Jiao was confused, not understanding why Yu Qizhe wanted to drive her away. She spat out the straw in her mouth, changed to a cross-legged sitting position, reached out to take the purse from Yu Qizhe's hand, poured it out and counted it, "With just this little money, where can I go after leaving the Yu family? If you return the indenture to me, I can still consider it."

She threw the purse to Yu Qizhe again.

Yu Qizhe held the purse in his hand and lowered his eyes to explain, "Grandmother wants to sell you to another boy."

"Why?" Yu Jiao asked, and she already had the answer in her heart. Since Meng Yujiao did such a thing, the Yu family would naturally not tolerate her.

Yu Qizhe lowered his voice, fearing that Yu Jiao didn't understand the consequences of selling to a man, and added, "Many men will sell girls with a little bit of beauty to brothels."

After saying that, he placed the purse at Yu Jiao's feet and said, "This is all I have. It's better than nothing. Wait until midnight, when everyone in the family is asleep, and you can go."

Yu Jiao looked towards Yu Qizhe with her bright eyes and a leisurely smile. It turned out that in the eyes of the fifth brother of the Yu family, she was still quite pretty.

"I haven't repaid you yet, how can you just leave like this?"

Repay? Who expects a person who was sold by her family to bring good luck and then sold to a matchmaker to repay?

Yu Qizhe didn't take Yu Jiao's words to heart at all, and he never thought about asking Yu Jiao to be grateful to him. Although he looked down on Meng Yu Jiao's behavior, she did it to bring him good luck. As long as she left the Yu family, her life or death would have nothing to do with him in the future.

In the evening, Yu Jiao did not wait for the food sent by Yu Qizhe. She had gotten used to it. Anyway, she had hardly ever had a full meal since she came to this hellhole.

She played with the purse left by Yu Qizhe with her fingertips. If she was sold to a brothel by a man, it would be better to leave Yu's house at night. Yu Jiao asked herself if she had the ability to play in a brothel.

Late at night, Yu Jiao came out of the small firewood room. The yard was pitch black and there was no candlelight in all the rooms. The Yu family should have all gone to bed. With the faint moonlight, Yu Jiao walked quietly to the gate, groped for the bolt, and was about to pull it open when she heard a chaotic and hurried sound of footsteps outside the gate.

Then there was the sound of banging on the door. "Uncle Yu, open the door quickly, help!"

Yu Jiao pulled open the bolt and a group of people rushed in, carrying a middle-aged man who had fainted on the door panel. When they saw that it was Yu Jiao who opened the door, they ignored her, pushed Yu Jiao aside, and hurriedly carried the man to the main room.

The knocking at the door woke up the Yu family. The lights in the house lit up one after another. Old Man Yu came out quickly wearing his coat. In the past, they had encountered people who came to the house in the middle of the night to see an emergency doctor, so the Yu family was used to this situation.

A group of people from the Zhou family saw Grandpa Yu crying and shouting for help, and there was a commotion. Grandpa Yu didn't hear what they were saying at all.

As he fastened his clothes, he said, "Don't panic, let me take a look first. Zhou's, tell me what's going on?"

Being named by Old Man Yu, Zhou hurriedly said, "I don't know what happened. I was sleeping well at night, and my boss suddenly had convulsions and fainted."

Old Master Yu squatted down and looked at Zhou Huai, whose limbs were stiff on the door. Seeing white foam around his mouth, he raised his hand to feel Zhou Huai's pulse and muttered in a low voice, "Could it be epilepsy?"

The Zhou family was shocked. Zhou wiped her tears and said, "My husband has never been like this before. No...it can't be epilepsy..."

Old Master Yu felt Zhou Huai's pulse for a while, his face changed slightly, and he saw that Zhou Huai had fainted with red face, purple lips, weak breathing, and cold limbs. He said in horror, "Take Zhou Huai to the town to find a doctor quickly. His pulse is weak, which is a sign of imminent death. I can't treat him!"

Upon hearing this, the Zhou family members panicked and cried, calling for their father and the head of the family. They reached out to push Zhou Huai who was lying on the door panel, trying to wake him up.

Old Master Yu hurriedly stopped them, "Don't touch him! Hurry up and carry him to town. If you delay for a moment, he might die before we get to town!"

Yu Jiao had been observing the unconscious man in the corner and had already noticed some clues. Now the house was noisy and the Yu family had no time to pay attention to her. Yu Jiao walked closer and looked at Zhou Huai's face carefully, touched some of the white foam at the corner of Zhou Huai's mouth with her fingertips, and sniffed it.

He asked Zhou in a deep voice, "Were you having sex when he was ill?"

Zhou was wiping her tears. When Yu Jiao asked her this, her face turned red. She glanced at Yu Jiao and said, "Why...why are you asking this?"

Old Madam Yu had already put on her clothes and walked out from the east room. When she heard Yu Jiao's shameless question, she glared at her and said, "Shut up!"

Yu Jiao shrugged the corners of her lips. The two young men from the Zhou family pushed Yu Jiao away from Zhou Huai, hurriedly lifted the door panel, and planned to take him to the town to see a doctor.

Yu Jiao staggered after being pushed, then steadied herself and said slowly, "He's going crazy soon. He'll die before you can go to town to find a doctor."

After listening to Yu Jiao's words and looking at Zhou Huai's symptoms, Mr. Yu suddenly realized, "It turns out that he is madness on the spur of the moment. This disease is also called crotch wind. People say it's gone, but I've never heard of a doctor who can cure madness on the spur of the moment."

Although the Zhou family didn't know what kind of disease "immediate madness" was, after hearing how serious it was described by Grandpa Yu, they all started crying in panic, not knowing what to do.

Zhou Huai's eldest son knelt down in front of Grandpa Yu with a thump, "Grandpa Yu, since you know what the disease is, please save my dad!"

Old Master Yu waved his hands repeatedly, "I can't save him. Going crazy is not an ordinary disease. It is common for people to lose their lives in a short time. I really don't have any way to diagnose and treat him."

If he could cure this incurable disease, he would have become famous in the medical field long ago.

Zhou collapsed to her knees and sobbed, "Is my husband hopeless? Father, if you die, how will my children and I survive?"

The eldest son of the Zhou family clenched his fists, wiped the tears from his face with the back of his hand, and said hatefully, "I'll take Dad to the town to seek medical treatment. We can't just wait to die like this!"

Yu Jiao sighed softly and said, "Can you let me give it a try?"

For a moment, everyone in the room focused their attention on her. Old Madam Yu glared at her fiercely. Because the Zhou family was there, she scolded her in an elder's tone, "Why are you making trouble? You're showing up in the middle of the night. You have no manners. Go back to your room and sleep!"

Zhou's eyes suddenly lit up. Thinking of Yu Jiao's question about whether her husband got sick during intercourse, Zhou grabbed Yu Jiao's hand as if she had grabbed a life-saving straw, "You can save my man, right? Please save my man, and my Zhou family will repay you if you work like a slave in the future."

"How can she diagnose and treat illnesses? Ms. Zhou, you can't just go to random doctors even if you are seriously ill. You'd better take your husband to the town to see a doctor as soon as possible!" Old Mrs. Yu said with a smile.

"Don't listen to her nonsense, take him to see a doctor quickly!" Old Man Yu didn't want Zhou Huai to die in his own yard. Although he was a doctor, he was also superstitious about such unlucky things.
