"Shu Wan, even if you are lending me this money, I will pay you back later."
When Shu Wan came to her senses, she saw a man wearing glasses standing in front of her. He had an unfamiliar face and was talking to her with his mouth moving.
Is this another new trick played by my stepmother? She didn't even bother to send someone more handsome.
Shu Wan immediately pulled her hand away, got the money, turned around and left.
The man was unhappy and stopped her, "Shu Wan, you haven't given me the money yet."
Shu Wan glanced at him calmly and said, "Oh, I won't lend it to you."
"Shu Wan, what's wrong with you? I'm Du Wendong."
Who is Du Wendong?
Shu Wan's mind went blank, and unfamiliar memories flooded into her brain.
It turned out that she had traveled through a book to the 1980s, and became the cannon fodder female supporting role in the novel, the ex-wife of a big boss who was seeking death.
The original owner married a big boss by dishonorable means. After marriage, she acted like a big shot and fought with him. The other party couldn't bear it anymore and asked for a divorce. The original owner refused to agree and even cuckolded him to make him feel uncomfortable.
This completely offended her ex-husband, and many other things happened afterwards. He hated her so much that after the divorce he sent her to prison, where she worked on a sewing machine.
Thinking of the miserable end of the original owner, Shu Wan was determined not to repeat the same mistake.
The man in front of her was the man who would cheat on her in the future, so she couldn't borrow any money from him. Shu Wan dodged him and said, "Go borrow from someone else. Don't come to me again."
While Du Wendong was distracted, Shu Wan turned around and left. When Du Wendong came to his senses, he could only see Shu Wan's back as she left.
On the way home, Shu Wan looked around as she walked. Unlike the modern asphalt roads and 20-30-story buildings, the scene in front of her revealed a simple and unsophisticated beauty. The little girls on the street were wearing Dacron, a clear mark of the times.
As soon as I got home, I heard a few women whispering against the wall.
"What kind of woman did Captain Huo marry? She's lazy, greedy, and sloppy. There's no other woman like her in the whole compound."
"That would be fine, but look at how she rushed back. She must have gone to see her old lover again. Captain Huo is such a good man, how could she not be satisfied?"
"Captain Huo is so miserable, marrying a wife like this. If it were in the old society, he would have been thrown into a pig cage long ago."
The voices of several people came clearly into her ears through the wall, and Shu Wan directly poured a basin of water over them.
"ah--"
As several people screamed, Shu Wan opened the door and said in surprise, "Why is there someone here? I thought it was just a few mice, rustling and making so much noise."
The faces of the few people were grim, and they were a little embarrassed and annoyed as if they were caught by the person involved. Perhaps because they were afraid that Shu Wan would go crazy and fight, the few people glared at Shu Wan and left with anger and wet clothes.
Shu Wan closed the gate, walked through the bare yard, came to the house, and pushed the door open.
A faint strange odor wafted into Shu Wan's nose, and she quickly opened the window to ventilate.
A refreshing breeze blew in, and the strange smell gradually dissipated. Only then did Shu Wan take a closer look at the room in front of her.
There was a thick layer of dust on the floor, with melon seed shells, food and fruit crumbs flying everywhere. The table was a mess, with a double happiness enamel pot, a kettle, matchsticks, a lunch box, and unfinished shoe soles...
The lunch box was used and I don’t know how long it had been there. There were white mold spots inside and it gave off a faint sour smell.
This is too dirty and messy...
Shu Wan pinched her brows and walked towards her bedroom again.
The room was about 10 square meters in size, with a 1.8-meter-long bed in it. The quilt and pillowcases were dirty and yellowed. Next to it was a paint-chipped wardrobe and a wooden table, on which was a kerosene lamp and a ball of unfinished sweater.
A little better than outside, but not much.
Shu Wan was a bit of a germaphobe and couldn't stand living in such an environment, so she immediately rolled up her sleeves to clean.
