"Huo Zhengye, say something." Shu Wan muttered dissatisfiedly.
Huo Zhengye suddenly came back to his senses and realized what he was thinking. A trace of annoyance flashed across his eyes. What does it have to do with him who Shu Wan likes? After the divorce, who she likes has nothing to do with him.
"There will be an impact, but not a big one. First clarify that you are not pregnant, and wait for the news to settle before filing for divorce." Huo Zhengye said in a deep voice.
"How long will it take?" Shu Wan asked.
"Maybe a month, it depends on the situation."
Hearing him say this, Shu Wan felt relieved. In a month, she would probably earn enough money to move out.
Shu Wan's little face was filled with smiles again. "Don't worry, I won't pester you when the time comes. I will just let you go free."
Huo Zhengye looked at the smile on Shu Wan's face and felt inexplicably strange.
Are you so happy about divorcing him?
Huo Zhengye dispelled the strangeness and saw Shu Wan's dirty little face. "What were you doing just now?"
"There are always strange noises when I sleep at night. The noises seem to come from above, which keeps me awake."
"It's too dangerous." Huo Zhengye said in a deep voice.
"What's the matter? I'm used to it."
Shu Wan disagreed. In modern times, she had worked at a construction site and moved bricks. She had done jobs that were more dangerous and difficult than this. Climbing a ladder was nothing.
After the conversation, Shu Wan planned to continue working.
Huo Zhengye was silent, and suddenly remembered that he had not stepped into this house for a long time.
How did Shu Wan survive alone during this period?
"I'll do it."
Huo Zhengye grabbed the ladder and climbed onto the roof in two or three steps. After a while, he found the cause. "There's a loose piece on top. Bring me the toolbox."
"Okay."
Shu Wan found a toolbox and handed it to Huo Zhengye, then went into the house to cook.
They have helped me so much, it would be inappropriate not to cook a meal for them, especially since they have been paid.
Shu Wan's teacher once lamented that she had a pair of skillful hands. Whether it was embroidery, painting, or cooking, as long as it passed through her hands, she could turn decay into something magical.
Huo Zhengye was halfway through his practice when he smelled a tempting aroma that went straight into his stomach.
My stomach is growling with greed.
Is Shu Wan’s cooking skills really that good?
Huo Zhengye thought for a long time, but all he could remember was Shu Wan being hysterical, cursing and losing her temper.
The repairs were almost done, and Shu Wan came over to call him, "It's time to eat."
Huo Zhengye, who was washing his hands, visibly quickened his movements upon hearing this, and wiped his hands with a towel, "Let's go."
Shu Wan made three dishes: radish and meatball soup, stir-fried pork with mushu sauce, and baby cabbage with garlic sauce.
Shu Wan deliberately made more in the evening. When she saw Huo Zhengye coming out with a bowl of rice in the shape of a small hill, Shu Wan felt that she might have made too little.
The dishes were made according to Shu Wan's own taste. She was worried that Huo Zhengye would find the taste bland, but when she saw him eating with his head down without even raising it, Shu Wan felt that she was overthinking.
I was eating so happily that every time I looked aside, I could see that the hill was missing a piece, then another piece, and then another piece.
This guy doesn't have a big mouth, so why does he eat so much?
Huo Zhengye finished one bowl, and when he poured the second bowl, there was only enough to cover the rice bowl.
He seemed to feel that he had eaten too much, so he turned around and asked Shu Wan: "Do you want more?"
Shu Wan shook her head, "That's enough."
After taking a few more bites, Shu Wan felt full and put down her chopsticks.
Seeing this, Huo Zhengye squeezed out a word in his busy schedule, "I'll clean it up later."
Shu Wan didn't have much of an appetite and there was still half of the rice left in her bowl.
Before returning to the house, I saw Huo Zhengye pouring the rice he hadn't finished into the bowl...
He really doesn't mind.
Shu Wan vaguely felt that she seemed to have forgotten something. After thinking for a while, she came to no avail and turned back to the house.
In the room, Shu Wan lit the kerosene lamp and prepared to alter the clothes, starting with making them bigger.
In the store in the afternoon, Shu Wan measured Xiong Hanmei's size again and found it was almost two inches too small. She planned to use black cloth to widen the sides so that it would look both good and slim.
She threaded the needle with skillful movements. After she finished altering the clothes, it was already dark. A strong wind was blowing outside the window and it looked like it was going to rain.
