Huo Minglang shook his head. "We can't let Brother live out here alone. It's not like we can't accommodate him at home."
Huo Minglang strode towards his previous room, opened the door, and dust flew in his face. There were all kinds of things inside. Huo Minglang said nothing, silently moved the things out and wiped them clean.
Fang Qin stamped her feet in pain, but finally couldn't bear it and helped clean the house.
After cleaning for an afternoon, Huo Minglang moved his luggage in and the other room was vacated.
"I'll go ask my elder brother and his wife to come back."
Huo Minglang didn't wait for Fang Qin to answer, he just walked out the door and headed towards the old house.
Fang Qin patted her thigh and said, "This kid doesn't even know to drink some water and take a rest before going."
Huo Minglang walked quickly and hurriedly and soon arrived at the location of the old house.
The old house was already in a state of disrepair. A large part of the door was missing and it hung shakily by the door.
As he got closer, the scene inside came into view easily.
The yard was overgrown with weeds, and at first glance there was no place to stand. Most of the wall paint on the house had fallen off, and some of the windows were broken and covered with paper.
How can people live in this place?
Huo Minglang frowned even more tightly. He must invite his elder brother and the others back.
Huo Minglang did not rush in directly. He stood at the door and shouted a few times.
"Anyone there?"
"Brother, are you there?"
Soon, the door was pushed open and a woman walked out. She had a delicate appearance and fair and rosy skin, which was out of place with the desolate environment around her.
Shu Wan walked up to Huo Minglang and looked him over. "Who are you?"
"I'm Huo Minglang."
When a familiar name came into her ears, Shu Wan realized that the young man in front of her was Huo Zhengye's younger brother.
Huo Minglang also remembered that the woman in front of him should be his sister-in-law.
When his eldest brother got married, he was out of town and couldn't make it back. His impression of Shu Wan all came from Fang Qin.
Fang Qin said that her sister-in-law was a lazy, greedy country woman who was willful, arrogant and selfish.
But when he looked at Shu Wan's delicate features, he couldn't help but think she was the person Fang Qin was talking about.
"Huo Zhengye is not at home, please come in and sit down first."
Shu Wan took the initiative to open the door and invited him in. Huo Minglang walked in with restrained hands and feet, then sat upright on a stool waiting for his eldest brother to come back.
Shu Wan poured a cup of steaming hot tea and handed it to him.
Huo Minglang took the tea and was confused for a moment. Is this the impolite, lazy and greedy sister-in-law that his mother mentioned?
My sister-in-law is very graceful and polite, and although the house is shabby, it is very clean. She is nothing like the sloppy and lazy image my mother described.
"My mother probably has some misunderstandings about my sister-in-law," Huo Minglang thought.
Huo Minglang took the cup and thanked her sincerely, "Thank you, sister-in-law."
Not long after, there was a noise at the door.
Huo Zhengye is back.
He was holding two large bags, which were bulging.
They moved in a hurry yesterday and had no food or daily necessities. He borrowed things and had almost everything ready in the morning. What he had in his hands were all food, vegetables, snacks and the like, which he bought in the city.
Shu Wan came forward and was about to take the thing from Huo Zhengye's hand.
"My little brother is here to see you. He's in the house. He's been waiting for a while. Go ahead and I'll put the things away."
Huo Zhengye didn't move his hand holding the bag. He shook his head and said, "Don't worry, I'll put the things away first. This thing is heavy and you can't carry it."
