"Then what about your husband?" Chen Meihua asked carefully.
"He goes back first, and I'll stay here. If I don't get the money, I won't have the face to go back." Shu Wan vowed.
Shu Wanzhen called Huo Zhengye and told him that she would not go back yet and would stay here to ask for money.
While talking, Shu Wan winked at Huo Zhengye. Huo Zhengye naturally would not expose his wife. He nodded and even said, "I support you. If you really can't find the person, I know someone at the police station. I can publish a missing person notice in newspapers across the country."
Chen Meihua was completely at her wit's end.
Seeing that the two were really planning to find Xiaoya, Chen Meihua gritted her teeth and said, "Wait, I'll give you the money."
Chen Meihua turned around and went into the house, and came back with the money in her hand after a while.
"Here you go, hurry up." Chen Meihua ordered the guest to leave without any hesitation.
After getting the money, Shu Wan didn't plan to stay any longer and left with Huo Zhengye.
Chen Meihua was in so much pain that her blood was dripping out after losing all her money. She had originally planned to use the money to find a good job for Xiaoguang and buy a house in the city so that her family could move into the city.
Now... we are back to the time before liberation overnight.
Shu Xiaoguang's wailing came from the room. Chen Meihua wiped away her tears. Xiaoya was in the Lin family, so she could ask for as much money as she wanted in the future. Besides, the money was paid for Xiaoya, so Xiaoya should return it to her.
When Shu Wan and Huo Zhengye returned to the guesthouse, Shu Wan told Huo Zhengye her guess.
Huo Zhengye hugged Shu Wan in his arms distressedly, "She is not worthy of being your mother."
"These are all my guesses. We still need to go to Beijing to find the Lin family." Shu Wan was much calmer. She didn't want to get close to the Lin family, she just wanted to give an explanation to the original owner.
The original owner was selfish and stingy towards others throughout his life, which seemed weird and artificial to others, but he was 100% enthusiastic towards the Shu family and was extremely eager for family affection.
She wanted to find out the truth.
"I will take a leave in a while and accompany you to Beijing." Huo Zhengye said seriously.
Shu Wan smiled and said, "No need."
Shu Wan looked at Huo Zhengye's worried eyes and smiled again, "It's almost time for us to go to Beijing, so you don't need to ask for leave."
Huo Zhengye was stunned, then reacted.
"By the way, I have to stay in Jiang City for a while. I haven't dealt with the things before the New Year yet."
Huo Zhengye looked reluctant, but still nodded, his head resting on Shu Wan's shoulder, his voice low, like an abandoned big dog.
"Then I will go back by myself tomorrow."
Shu Wan hugged him tightly and said, "Go back after you finish your work. I will miss you."
…
The next day, Shu Wan got up early, fried some pancakes, boiled some eggs and put them in a bag.
After breakfast and picking up their luggage, the two came to the station and stood in front of the train.
Shu Wan stuffed the food she had prepared in the morning into Huo Zhengye's arms and said, "Eat if you're hungry on the way."
Huo Zhengye took it, and the warmth of the food passed through his palms to his limbs and bones, making his heart feel warm.
"Come back early and call me every day."
Huo Zhengye hugged Shu Wan, and a low and reluctant voice came from above his head, which made Shu Wan feel a little sad about the separation.
Shu Wan sniffed and nodded.
The train was moving slowly. Huo Zhengye looked at the scenery receding outside the window. Shu Wan's figure gradually moved away and shrank into a dot.
Huo Zhengye suppressed his reluctance and his eyes became firm.
Shu Wan is working hard here, and he can't fall behind. He has to move to Beijing as soon as possible.
