Chapter 50 analyzes "I know".

Chapter 50 analyzes "I know".

Jiang Zhiyao painstakingly laid bare her dark side to him: "I absolutely cannot accept that there will be other people around you in the future. And these past few days, I've been secretly watching you in this shop every day. I even did it the other night..."

"I know."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Zhiyao looked up at Yan Zhenxi in surprise.

Yan Zhenxi didn't lower his outstretched hand; instead, he reached forward and grasped Jiang Zhiyao, pulling her up. Jiang Zhiyao stood on the bed, looking down slightly at Yan Zhenxi.

"Why do you think I walk through here every day and dress up so carefully?" As she spoke, Yan Zhenxi fiddled with a set of intricate and exquisite jade ornaments she was wearing, which made a series of crisp sounds.

“I’m seducing you, A-Yao.” Yan Zhenxi stared straight at Jiang Zhiyao, this time without hiding anything, and said what he was thinking.

"Of course I knew that night."

Yan Zhenxi pointed to the incense burner beside him: "Ayao also used sleeping incense."

“But Ayao,” Yan Zhenxi said with a smile, “do you know how happy I was at the time? Even if you gave me some sleeping pills, I might not be able to fall asleep.”

“And I come here every night.” Yan Zhenxi made no attempt to hide anything. “I found you the night you left the manor.”

"I didn't go up to ask you why you left; I just arrogantly assumed you would come back."

“But I really miss you, so I come here every night.”

"Ah Yao," Yan Zhenxi said with a hint of complaint, "the bed here is really too small."

Jiang Zhiyao blushed, but she couldn't deny that she felt happy and satisfied because of Yan Zhenxi's words.

A tingling, numbing sensation and a feeling of satisfaction filled my beating heart.

"As for what you said, that you can't accept having other people around me," Yan Zhenxi said earnestly, "I can't even accept it myself. I only want you, Ayao."

"I only like you."

"I have never liked anyone before, nor have I had any intimate contact with anyone else. I only have you, and there will never be anyone else in the future."

"I only want you, I belong only to you."

Jiang Zhiyao felt a tingling sensation in her heart, and indescribable emotions spread through her.

She hugged Yan Zhenxi and buried her head in his neck: "Let's go home."

Yan Zhenxi immediately hugged her back and laughed, his voice filled with undisguised joy.

After returning to his residence, Yan Zhenxi took out the rag doll he had made: "Ayao."

Jiang Zhiyao took it and examined it carefully, then smiled and said, "It's very well made, I like it very much."

Although there are some minor flaws, it's pretty good overall. The main thing is that Yan Zhenxi spent time making it, and Jiang Zhiyao really likes it.

"I'm glad you like it, Ayao." "Let me see your hand." As soon as Jiang Zhiyao finished speaking, Yan Zhenxi handed her his hand.

The wound on my fingertip is almost gone, but a tiny trace is still faintly visible.

Jiang Zhiyao couldn't help but pinch his fingertip: "Did it hurt when you got pricked?"

"A little," Yan Zhenxi said without changing his expression, then separated his fingers and intertwined them with Jiang Zhiyao's. "It'll be fine after holding hands for a while."

"Oh, right!" Jiang Zhiyao suddenly remembered something and asked anxiously, "Is it a big deal that you didn't go to the morning court?"

"It's alright," Yan Zhenxi reassured her. "It's just one day, nothing will happen."

After saying that, Yan Zhenxi took Jiang Zhiyao's hand and led her to the study: "I'll just handle the official documents here today."

Jiang Zhiyao nodded: "Then I'll go over there and read for a while."

Just as she was about to take a step forward, she realized that Yan Zhenxi had no intention of letting go: "I don't want to be separated from Ayao."

"I'm not going out." Jiang Zhiyao was both amused and exasperated.

"No." After saying that, Yan Zhenxi pulled Jiang Zhiyao to sit down on the chair in front of the table.

The chair was spacious enough for two people to sit comfortably, and Jiang Zhiyao didn't feel cramped sitting in Yan Zhenxi's lap.

"Will this make it easier for you to handle official business?" Jiang Zhiyao asked, looking at the small stack of documents that had been delivered to her.

“Of course.” Yan Zhenxi put one arm around Jiang Zhiyao’s waist and casually picked up the top document with the other. “With Ayao here, it will be processed even faster.”

Jiang Zhiyao didn't say anything more. She turned slightly, pressed her knee against Yan Zhenxi's thigh, stood up a little, stepped over Yan Zhenxi, and began to select books from the bookshelf behind.

Yan Zhenxi paused in his work of flipping through the documents.

After randomly picking a travelogue, Jiang Zhiyao readjusted her position and began reading it in his arms.

The warm winter sun shone in, bathing the two in its bright light.

Jiang Zhiyao originally thought that she would feel awkward facing the steward and servants after returning to the manor, but after lunch she learned that the servants in the manor all thought that she had just gone out to play for a while.

After finishing his business in the afternoon, Yan Zhenxi played chess with Jiang Zhiyao.

"Ah," Jiang Zhiyao said with some annoyance, "did you see me take back my moves a few times before?"

“Where is there any take-back, Yao?” Yan Zhenxi said with a smile. “It’s just that I accidentally placed it in the wrong position and I’m just adjusting it.”

After making her move, Jiang Zhiyao habitually looked at Yan Zhenxi, wanting to observe his expression as she always did.

But when she met Yan Zhenxi's smiling eyes, Jiang Zhiyao blushed again.

The thought that he had seen all her little tricks made Jiang Zhiyao feel ashamed and angry, and she wanted to leave the chessboard immediately.

She lowered her eyes and stared intently at the chessboard, suppressing the urge to look at Yan Zhenxi.

"Hmm?" Seeing that the opponent had not yet placed a piece, Jiang Zhiyao looked up in confusion.

Seeing that she finally looked at him, Yan Zhenxi put down the chess piece in his hand: "Why isn't Ayao looking at me anymore?"

"Is it okay if I wear my eye veil as before?"

“No.” Jiang Zhiyao immediately replied as soon as Yan Zhenxi finished speaking, “I won’t look at you even if you put on a veil.”

Jiang Zhiyao tried on his veil and could see everything clearly.

"Alright then." Yan Zhenxi lowered his eyes, his tone full of regret.

They played until dinner time before putting away the chess pieces.

After dinner, the two went for a walk in the garden.

Jiang Zhiyao, holding Yan Zhenxi's hand, noticed a bump in the road ahead and reminded him, "There's something ahead..."

Jiang Zhiyao interrupted her halfway through her sentence and turned to look at Yan Zhenxi.

As before, Yan Zhenxi smiled and replied gently, "Thank you, Madam."

It was only then that Jiang Zhiyao belatedly realized just how wicked Yan Zhenxi really was.

Even though his eyesight was fine, he quietly enjoyed the meticulous care he received from her.

"I was wrong." Before Jiang Zhiyao could say anything, Yan Zhenxi spoke first, "Ayao can do whatever she wants to me."

Jiang Zhiyao thought for a moment and then said, "Then you can show me around the garden this time."

“Okay.” Yan Zhenxi readily agreed.

Yan Zhenxi took Jiang Zhiyao's hand and stepped into the garden.

He imitated Jiang Zhiyao's previous manner, describing in detail every flower and tree in the garden, the artificial hill and pond beside it, and the moonlight tonight.

Listening to Yan Zhenxi's pleasant, low voice, Jiang Zhiyao walked slowly, feeling that the garden she had walked through countless times had a different kind of scenery.

"Do you remember that place?" Seeing Yan Zhenxi suddenly stop, Jiang Zhiyao looked puzzled and followed Yan Zhenxi's gaze.

It's an epiphyllum, but it's not blooming yet.

Yan Zhenxi turned to Jiang Zhiyao with a smile and said, "That was the first time I saw a blooming epiphyllum. I not only saw it, but I also heard it."

"Ah Yao." Yan Zhenxi approached Jiang Zhiyao slowly with a smile. "I really like you."

After saying that, a gentle kiss landed on his lips. Yan Zhenxi kissed him repeatedly, making it seem a little sticky.

"Alright, alright," Jiang Zhiyao said with a smile, gently pushing him away.

Seeing Jiang Zhiyao's smiling face, Yan Zhenxi felt his heart soften.

"Do you want to go back?" Yan Zhenxi held Jiang Zhiyao in his arms, their noses touching, feeling her slightly cool skin. He then covered Jiang Zhiyao's ears with his hands, wanting to warm them up.

Jiang Zhiyao couldn't help but laugh: "How silly, the two of us."

Despite the cold weather, they strolled around the garden for so long, and many of the flowers weren't in bloom during the winter, but the two of them still managed to explore the entire garden.

Yan Zhenxi was somewhat annoyed: "I forgot to put ear warmers on you." He slowly rubbed Jiang Zhiyao's earlobe with his fingers.

Back in her dormitory, where charcoal had already been lit for warmth, Jiang Zhiyao took off her fur coat.

After taking a bath in the pre-prepared hot water for a while, Jiang Zhiyao felt comfortable all over and came out.

Yan Zhenxi had already finished showering in another bathroom and was looking at something by the bed.

"You're looking at..." Jiang Zhiyao's voice trailed off as she approached and saw what it was.

It was the divorce agreement she left behind when she left the mansion.

Seeing Jiang Zhiyao approach, Yan Zhenxi narrowed his eyes and asked gently, "Is Ayao finished bathing?"

Jiang Zhiyao suddenly felt something was amiss and wanted to back away.

Yan Zhenxi didn't give her a chance to back down, pulling her directly towards him and pinning her down on his body.

"Here you go." Yan Zhenxi handed the divorce papers to Jiang Zhiyao.

Jiang Zhiyao didn't know what he was going to do, but her intuition told her that Yan Zhenxi was in some danger.

Yan Zhenxi covered Jiang Zhiyao's hand as she took the divorce papers, and led her to throw them into the charcoal stove beside her.

As the paper was slowly consumed by the sparks, Yan Zhenxi whispered in Jiang Zhiyao's ear, "Does Ayao still want a divorce?"

"In no mood."

"Has Ayao forgiven me?"

"I'm not angry." Jiang Zhiyao didn't feel much negative emotion about his eyes anyway.

"Then it's my turn."

"What?" Jiang Zhiyao was puzzled when she heard Yan Zhenxi's somewhat strange words.

"I'm still angry, Ayao." Yan Zhenxi turned Jiang Zhiyao around so they were facing each other.

"How could you just leave behind a divorce agreement and disappear without saying goodbye?"

"How can a divorce be decided so suddenly?"

“You didn’t tell me anything. Do you know how upset I was? I didn’t even know what I had done wrong.”

Yan Zhenxi listed Jiang Zhiyao's "crimes" in detail.

"You must tell me, Ayao." Yan Zhenxi held Jiang Zhiyao even tighter. "If Ayao ever feels uncomfortable or has anything on her mind, tell me."

"Stop keeping it to yourself. Just tell me what's on your mind. If you don't want to talk about it, that's fine too. You can even vent to me. Don't keep it bottled up inside, okay?"

"Okay," Jiang Zhiyao obediently replied.

After agreeing, Jiang Zhiyao didn't feel Yan Zhenxi loosen his grip on her arms at all; instead, she felt that Yan Zhenxi's aggression became even stronger.

"We need to make a lasting impression on Ayao."
