Chapter 106: Seeing a doctor

"Do you remember Mr. Zhou whom you met at the door when you got home yesterday?"

Lin Cuixin frowned and thought for a moment before she said, "The street sweeper?"

He nodded to Changlin, "Yes, it's Uncle Zhou who sweeps the streets."

"What's wrong with him?"

Lin Cuixin didn't quite understand what an outsider could do to make them so happy.

"Uncle Zhou's family has been practicing traditional Chinese medicine for generations. They used to be very famous in our county, and even in the whole city. But now they have been suppressed and reduced to sweeping the streets. He saw my dad at the door yesterday and could tell what was wrong with him at first glance!"

Lin Cuixin asked uncertainly, "Can he cure it?!"

Xiang Zhong couldn't help but concentrate. This disease was almost becoming a mental illness for him. No one wants to have a broken body if they can live healthily.

"Yes, Qingqing met him again this morning. He said he could take my dad to see him. I'll take my dad there when it's dark."

"I've heard that there's a doctor named Zhou in the county who's very skilled in medicine. I guess that's him! In fact, when your father first got sick, I asked around, but I heard that something seemed to be wrong with his family, so I didn't see him. I didn't expect to run into him right in front of our house. What do you think?"

Speaking of this, Lin Cuixin felt a little regretful. If this Doctor Zhou could really cure her husband's illness, then they would have missed five or six years in vain. But if he could be cured now, that would be a great thing!

"It's not too late now. Let Uncle Zhou check on my dad first. If he can be cured, that would be great. If not, we should go to a big hospital as usual."

Xiang Changlin was not sure whether Uncle Zhou could cure his father. After all, his father's illness was a chronic one.

"Okay, should I go with you?"

"No, I can take my dad there myself. You guys don't have to. Too many people will make too much noise."

"Yes, Changlin, just take me there, you guys wait at home."

Xiang Zhong himself hopes that Mr. Zhou can cure his illness so that he doesn't have to go to a big hospital anymore. It is not easy for his son to earn money, and he really can't bear to let him go.

"All right then."

"Let's eat first. I'll make some more for you guys after you finish eating."

Asking someone to see a doctor must not be for free. What they lack most now is food. The old couple will definitely be happy if you bring some food over.

"Yes, yes, Qingqing is really thoughtful. You've worked all day, just take a break, I'll do it!"

Lin Cuixin's love for Ye Qing is extremely rare. She thinks of Ye Qing for all the good things she has, whether at home or here. She won't let Ye Qing do anything if she can avoid it. Ye Qing is very touched.

Originally, we brought the old couple here to enjoy their life, but my mother-in-law would prepare meals in advance every morning and evening. I told her this many times but she just wouldn't listen. Now they have nothing to worry about and they are enjoying themselves.

After dinner, Ye Qing helped and cooked two bowls of vegetable and egg noodles, and added half a roast chicken that was specially reserved. Xiang Changlin helped Xiang Zhong out the door.

"Mom, come in."

Ye Qing looked at her mother-in-law who had a worried look on her face, and gently placed her hand on her shoulder and patted her, silently comforting her.

"Oh, I don't know if it will work."

Lin Cuixin sighed and followed her into the house.

"Looking at what Uncle Zhou said, I think even if he can't be cured, it will at least make Dad feel better. Don't worry too much. It will definitely be better than it is now."

Lin Cuixin nodded, "Okay. You take Xiaoru to bed first, I'll just wait for them to come back."

"It's okay. I'm not sleepy yet. I haven't digested the food I ate yet. I'll sit with you for a while, so you won't be bored."

Ye Qing patted Xiang Ru in his arms and smiled.

"Okay, then let's talk for a while."

Lin Cuixin smiled kindly, "I see that you and Changlin are living well here, and the house is tidy. Your father and I are relieved."

Ye Qing also smiled, "Well, don't worry, we are all fine. You and dad should also take good care of yourselves, eat well and drink well, we and big brother and sister-in-law will take care of everything!"

Lin Cuixin clapped her hands with a satisfied look on her face, "Our family's life is getting better and better. If your father's illness can be cured, I will feel relieved.

Now I am looking forward to you giving our family another baby!"

Ye Qing: ...If you don’t induce labor, we can still have a good chat.

“We work hard.”

While the mother and daughter were talking, Xiang Changlin brought Xiang Zhong to Zhou's house.

The old couple welcomed the person into the house and when they saw that Xiang Changlin had brought them more food, they both looked embarrassed.

"We've already eaten, so let's take it back and don't waste it."

Aunt Zhou refused again and again and refused to accept it no matter what.

"Auntie, these noodles will be clumpy by the time we get back. I brought this for you and Grandpa. Eat it while it's hot. It's not expensive. If you don't want us to pay for the treatment, we can't let Grandpa treat us for free. I'll just pay the consultation fee directly."

"Come on, kid, you're so polite. Can't I accept it?"

Aunt Zhou didn't know whether to laugh or cry. How could she possibly accept the money? She could only accept the noodles. After the two finished their meal, Uncle Zhou wiped his mouth and began to take Xiang Zhong's pulse.

Xiang Zhong and Xiang Changlin looked at Grandpa Zhou with half-closed eyes nervously. After about two or three minutes, Grandpa Zhou withdrew his hand.

"Uncle Zhou, can my father's illness be cured?"

Uncle Zhou nodded with a smile and a firm tone.

"able!"

"real?!"

Xiang Changlin was so excited that both father and son clenched their fists tightly, not knowing how to express their excitement at the moment.

"Doctor Zhou, is there really a cure for my disease?"

For so many years, he thought he would be buried with this illness, but he never expected that there would be a day when everything would turn around.
