Chapter 160 Besides, I miss you so much

Xu Yan felt a lump in her throat and almost choked.

"What?" She stared at Xie Zhuo.

“I sent her back as soon as she got off the train,” Xie Zhuo said.

"Then you," Xu Yan suddenly didn't know what to say.

“I understood the moment I left Tan Jiangli’s house, my sister-in-law. The two kids are ours from now on,” Xie Zhuo said. He looked down and squeezed Xu Yan’s trembling fingers, which were still shaking from excitement. “Why should others get to see our kids just because they’re ours?”

"So I told her she wasn't allowed to look."

Xie Zhuo's tone was really too... like he was making up a story.

"Really?" Xu Yan asked, somewhat doubtful.

“Really,” Xie Zhuo nodded. “Of course, I didn’t speak to you as gently as I did when I told you. I just told her not to ever appear in front of Xiao Bao again.”

"What did she say?" Xu Yan asked.

"He didn't say anything," Xie Zhuo said, sliding his finger along Xu Yan's wrist. "He wanted to give me money, but I didn't accept it. I said I'm raising my own son, why should I accept other people's money?"

Xu Yan opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but couldn't say anything.

She could see how much Xie Zhuo loved his two children. From the first day she came to this family, she was very envious that Da Bao and Xiao Bao had an uncle like Xie Zhuo.

He is very patient with his two children, Da Bao and Xiao Bao. He never yells at them or uses emotional abuse. He plays with them, plays with them, and tells them bedtime stories. They often get along like friends.

The atmosphere at home is always relaxed and comfortable.

Thinking of this, Xu Yan gently squeezed Xie Zhuo's fingers.

The two pinched and kneaded each other for several minutes before Xie Zhuo finally spoke up: "These past few days on the train, I've been thinking about something."

"What?" Xu Yan tilted her head to look at him.

"Am I really some kind of once-in-a-century cursed star?" Xie Zhuo asked.

Xu Yan paused in her action of pinching his fingers, and her brows furrowed unconsciously again.

“My parents and brother are gone, and even Tan Jiangli committed suicide,” Xie Zhuo sighed, then changed his tone just as Xu Yan was about to interrupt him, “I know none of this is my fault, but—”

“There are no buts,” Xu Yan interrupted him, “If that’s the case, then your two older brothers are the root of all this, right?”

Before the two of them could elaborate on the issue, Da Bao started shouting from outside.

Xie Zhuo responded, then asked, "What's wrong?"

"It's time to tell the story," Da Bao's little voice was tinged with sleepiness.

“You’re here,” Xie Zhuo replied, mimicking his tone.

The two kids were very excited today. Although they were so sleepy that their eyes could barely stay open, they still tugged at Xie Zhuo's clothes and asked him to tell them another story before finally falling into a deep sleep.

After Xie Zhuo covered them with blankets, turned on the light cord, and returned to his own room, Xu Yan was already lying down.

But I haven't gone to sleep yet, so I picked up a book and started flipping through it.

After Xie Zhuo got into bed, she put away the book and turned to turn off the light.

Unexpectedly, as soon as she reached out her hand, Xie Zhuo grabbed it.

Xu Yan turned to look at him, "Aren't you tired after sitting on the train for several days?"

Xie Zhuo didn't answer her question, but lowered his head and kissed the corner of her lips. "I missed you so much."

Xu Yan looked at him.

Xie Zhuo has beautiful eyes.

Especially when viewed up close, his eyelashes are long, his eyes are bright, and when he looks at people with affection, there is an indescribable sexiness about him.

Xu Yan touched the corner of Xie Zhuo's eye with her finger, and just as Xie Zhuo turned his head to kiss her hand, she suddenly hooked her arm around his neck and tilted her head back.

They are as close as lips and teeth.

Xie Zhuo's body temperature was so high it was almost burning her up.

At first, Xu Yan just clung to him, but later her arms and legs gave out, and she lay on the kang as if she could fall asleep as soon as she closed her eyes.

Xie Zhuo, however, was in good spirits.

He lowered his head and kissed the small mole on the side of Xu Yan's nose, then kissed her eyes.

Xu Yan closed her eyes, her eyelashes trembling like butterflies about to take flight.

"I hope nothing happened while I was gone?" Xie Zhuo rested his forehead on Xu Yan's pillow, his breath brushing against her ear.

“…No,” Xu Yan’s words were unclear, but at least it was an answer.

Xie Zhu hummed in agreement, not intending to ask anything else, but before he could even look up, he heard Xu Yan add in a hoarse voice, "Except, I miss you so much."

Xie Zhuo paused in all his movements.

He waited several seconds before looking up at Xu Yan, who rubbed against his waist somewhat uncomfortably.

"What did you just say?" Xie Zhuo asked.

Xu Yan fell silent.

For most of the night, Xu Yan didn't know when she fell asleep, only that Xie Zhuo changed completely when she heard her say she missed him.

It was as if she had never said she missed him.

like……

You really haven't said that?

Xu Yan kept thinking about it before falling asleep, but she really couldn't remember it.

When I woke up again, the sun had already risen outside, and I couldn't hear the two kids' voices in the yard anymore; they had probably already gone to school.

Xu Yan raised her hand to rub her eyes. Just as she was about to sit up, she felt a sudden weakness in her legs and her arms were also weak.

"..."

I haven't exercised in a long time, and when I suddenly do it all at once, I feel uncomfortable all over.

She lay there for a few more minutes, and just as she was about to get up again, Xie Zhuo came in carrying a basin of water.

"Awake?" Xie Zhuo placed the basin of water on the ground.

Xu Yan snorted and glared at him.

She told him she should go to sleep last night, but he was full of energy and kept going until very late.

Xie Zhuo wasn't angry at being glared at; instead, he took a long stride and climbed onto the kang (a heated brick bed).

"What are you doing?" Xu Yan looked at him warily, her eyes wide open.

"Didn't you say you weren't feeling well when you went to bed last night?" Xie Zhu showed her what he was holding. "Let me see if you need to apply some ointment."

Xu Yan: "..."

Sometimes Xu Yan really couldn't understand how the man who used to blush for half a day after just one kiss had suddenly become such a rogue.

She blushed and kicked the blanket.

"No need for you, I'll do it myself in a bit."

"Do it yourself?" Xie Zhuo repeated the last three words Xu Yan said, his eyes narrowing slightly. "That means you need to apply ointment."

Xu Yan: "..."

She really wanted to say that she didn't need it.

But it really wasn't very comfortable.

Xie Zhuo was like a wild dog last night, I don't know what he was so excited about, he lost control of his actions a few times.

Although she did feel...somewhat comfortable at the time, after the stimulation, it was a different feeling altogether.

The kang (heated brick bed) was very hot.

The temperature inside the blanket was very high, but it was still very cold outside the blanket.

Although the sun was shining today, the wind was quite strong, and you could see leaves being swirled up and flying into the sky.

Xu Yan struggled to resist the urge to push Xie Zhuo's hand away, her gaze wandering aimlessly.

After surveying the room, when she turned back to Xie Zhuo's ears, she noticed that Xie Zhuo's ears, along with his Adam's apple, were red.
