"nothing."
Xie Zhu smiled, didn't repeat himself, and stood up while holding Xu Yan's hand. "Let's go."
Xu Yan didn't move.
"Hmm?" Xie Zhuo hummed softly.
"Hey, Xie Baobei," Xu Yan looked around and, seeing no one, leaned over and tiptoed to reach Xie Zhuo's lips.
Xie Zhuo immediately lowered his head and placed a kiss on the corner of her lips. Just as he was about to straighten up, Xu Yan hooked his neck and deepened the kiss.
Several willow trees were planted outside the pavilion, and a few birds of some kind were perched on them, chirping incessantly.
This completely covered up any minor noises coming from inside the pavilion.
When Xu Yan, with red eyes and slightly out of breath, released Xie Zhuo's neck, he pulled her into his arms again.
Xu Yan struggled for a moment.
Xie Zhuo loosened his grip a little.
"Why are you still hugging me?" Xu Yan pushed him away. "Don't you think I don't care about you? How can you still kiss me and hug me?"
Xie Zhuo paused.
"Don't think I don't know what you're thinking," Xu Yan pinched Xie Zhuo's waist, but the muscles were too firm to move. "Nothing much? We've been together for three whole years. You think I wouldn't know just because you didn't tell me?"
Xie Zhuo hugged Xu Yan tightly again.
“I’m telling you, baby,” Xu Yan tried to glare at him, but he was holding her too tightly, and she couldn’t lift her head. “I told you right after we got married that you have to be clear about things. If you don’t speak up, how will anyone know what you’re thinking? You’re angry today, and you’re angry tomorrow. Sooner or later, we’ll be…”
Before Xu Yan could finish speaking, Xie Zhuo's lips sealed her lips.
Once both of them had calmed down a bit, Xie Zhuo pulled Xu Yan back to sit down.
“I just want to hear you tell me not to go anywhere and to stay by your side forever,” Xie Zhuo said.
He placed Xu Yan's palm on the stone table and gently pressed his face against it.
"I still want to see you...jealous. You have no idea how I felt when I heard that Guo something's name appear together with yours. I really wanted to beat him up and then confront you, but I know it's not true."
“I know you’ve barely spoken to him, and I know I’m the one who sleeps in the same bed with you every day, but I still feel terrible.”
"Sometimes I..."
Xie Zhuo raised his head, rested his chin on Xu Yan's palm, and stared at her with dangerous yet affectionate eyes, saying, "Sometimes I really want to lock you up at home and not let anyone else see you. You are my baby alone."
Xu Yan: "..."
I asked you to speak your mind, not to say such perverted things.
However, facing Xie Zhuo's insecure gaze, Xu Yan couldn't say much else.
"When I said I wouldn't restrict you, I meant I wouldn't interfere with your thoughts about studying or working, not that you could do whatever you wanted," Xu Yan said, looking at him and gently stroking Xie Zhuo's chin with her finger.
"If you ever have other ideas, just wait and see what I do."
Xu Yan lowered her voice a little, "You might be the one locked up at home then."
Xie Zhuo's eyes suddenly lit up.
With an expression that said, "Really? How about we try it now?"
Xu Yan: "..."
Forget it, I can't compete with a pervert in terms of perversion.
"That's the gist of it," Xu Yan said. "I didn't give you as much freedom as you imagined. As for being jealous, there isn't even a female mosquito around you, so where am I supposed to be jealous?"
Xie Zhuo tilted his head and touched her hand.
The two of them didn't stay in the pavilion for very long, but it wasn't short either. By the time Xu Yan returned to the classroom, get out of class was almost over.
Bai Ling leaned closer and asked her, "Who came looking for you just now? What did they want? I also saw Xie Zhuo from the math department. What did he want to see you about?"
Bai Ling always speaks very quickly, and unless she stops voluntarily, it's difficult for others to get a word in edgewise.
Xu Yan listened to her questions one after another, not intending to interrupt, but upon hearing Xie Zhuo's name, she subconsciously asked, "How do you know Xie Zhuo?"
“Hey, who doesn’t know him?” Bai Ling said. “He’s a famous handsome guy in the math department. His name spread throughout the whole school on the second day of the semester. His fame is no less than yours.”
Xu Yan looked at her, "Why haven't you mentioned this before?"
"Didn't I say that?" Bai Ling looked at her, thought for a moment, but couldn't remember, so she stopped worrying about it. "However, with your oblivious attitude and only focus on your studies, you wouldn't want to hear it even if I did. Besides, he's not my type, so why would I mention him?"
Xu Yan didn't speak, her fingers flipping through the textbook.
“But,” Bai Ling lowered her voice and glanced at the other girl in her dormitory, “I think Zhao Nana seems to have some feelings for him.”
Xu Yan stopped.
“During the last break, she said she needed to go to the restroom, but she deliberately went to the math department's side just to catch a few more glimpses of Xie Zhuo,” Bai Ling said. “I can understand. Xie Zhuo is good-looking, and I heard he’s also an excellent student. It’s just that he seems a bit older than he is. Although you can’t tell from his face, his classmates say he’s already twenty-six or twenty-seven…”
Bai Ling was still rambling on when Xu Yan suddenly understood how Xie Zhuo felt when he heard her name mentioned alongside Guo Jiazhi.
I'm really annoyed.
In fact, Zhao Nana was someone Xie Zhuo didn't even have a name for.
I still feel a little uncomfortable.
