Chapter 210 A Perfect Match

The two wanted to say something else, but then they heard someone riding a bicycle on the road, and they remembered to go inside first.

Xie Zhuo first went to let his great-aunt know he was safe, and then after taking a shower, he went to tell Da Bao and the others a story.

Although the children have grown up and become big kids, Xie Zhuo still tells them stories before going out and after returning home to lull them to sleep.

Once the night was completely quiet and a gentle breeze stirred in the courtyard, Xie Zhuo held Xu Yan in his arms and told her about his experiences in Gangcheng.

Xu Yan listened attentively, but not long after, Xie Zhuo's voice grew softer and softer until he finally fell asleep.

The next day was a bright and sunny day.

When Xie Zhuo woke up, he found that Xu Yan had already gone to school.

After washing up, he chatted with his great-aunt for a while before going to the market to buy vegetables and meat, planning to cook something nice for Xu Yan for lunch.

Once, during a phone call, Xu Yan mentioned that she wanted to eat his cooking.

Auntie wanted to help, but because her arm hadn't fully recovered, Xie Zhuo gave her a few cloves of garlic to peel slowly.

The two chatted as they cooked, and by the time all the dishes were ready, it was almost noon.

Xu Yan usually doesn't come home for lunch and eats directly in the cafeteria. Today, because Xie Zhuo went home, she wanted to rush home as soon as get out of class ended, but she didn't expect to be stopped by someone as soon as she left the classroom.

The freshman boy was not old; his face, at eighteen or nineteen, was still full of immaturity. When he handed the letter in his hand to Xu Yan, his head was almost touching his chest.

"Oh," Bai Ling, standing next to Xu Yan, raised an eyebrow at the scene and looked at Xu Yan with amusement, "What number is it this semester?"

Xu Yan didn't respond to her teasing remark.

She turned her gaze to the boy, "You..."

She had barely uttered a single word when the boy said firmly and with renewed courage, "I don't think age is a problem. As long as there's love, we can overcome anything. Xu Yan, would you consider me?"

Their bold and passionate words caused several people passing by to stop in their tracks.

The boy's face had already turned bright red, but he still refused to move.

Xu Yan had a headache.

The fact that she was married long ago was known throughout the school back then, but in the past two years, Xie Zhuo has been away, and she has also kept a low profile, so only people in her year know about it.

The students who came in later probably had a vague idea about this, but they all thought it was just a rumor, so a few of them actually came to find Xu Yan.

But before saying these things, they all asked a few questions tactfully. This is the first time I've ever heard anything like this.

Xu Yan was just thinking about how to refuse him when Xie Zhuo arrived at the school at some point, carrying an aluminum lunchbox that looked somewhat out of place with his suit.

Their eyes met, and Xu Yan suddenly smiled.

The student who had come to express his feelings was flattered by Xu Yan's smile and stammered, "Xu Tong, classmate, you—"

Before he could finish speaking, Xu Yanyang, with a smile on his face, walked past him and stood in front of a tall man. "What brings you here?"

Xie Zhuo glanced at the student out of the corner of his eye, then looked away and focused on Xu Yan. "Didn't you say you wanted to eat my cooking? I specially made some and brought it over for you."

Xu Yan smiled even more brightly, "Then thank you for your hard work, Boss Xie."

“What boss?” Xie Zhuo glanced at her and lowered his voice, “Call me husband.”

"You are... Xie Zhuo?"

Bai Ling also walked past that student, her gaze sweeping over Xie Zhuo several times, almost as if she couldn't recognize him.

Compared to two years ago, the man in front of me was more mature and composed, and his face was more handsome and sharp. In addition, he was wearing a suit popular in Hong Kong TV dramas, which further accentuated his broad shoulders and long legs, giving him an extraordinary temperament.

"Hello," Xie Zhuo knew Bai Ling, having heard Xu Yan mention her a few times, and turned to greet her.

"Hello, hello," Bai Ling said, still looking surprised.

The male student who had handed Xu Yan the poem earlier now understood what was going on. After glancing at Xie Zhuo, he blushed and ran away quickly.

Within an afternoon, the news that Xie Zhuo had come to the school to bring Xu Yan food had spread throughout the school again.

When Xu Yan took Xie Zhuo to the cafeteria for a meal, there were always people around pretending to be casually passing by.

Xie Zhuo not only didn't mind, but even wanted them to look at him more, ideally so that everyone would know that Xu Yan was already married to him and that they would never have another chance.

Zhao Nana knew that Xie Zhuo had come to the school to bring food to Xu Yan, but she had long since put the past behind her and didn't pay much attention when she saw him in the cafeteria.

On the contrary, the others around her kept talking while eating.

"I've only ever heard of girls changing a lot as they grow up, but I never imagined that boys could change so much too. I almost didn't recognize Xie Zhuo."

"You're even more handsome now, aren't you?"

"It's no exaggeration to say that he's many times more handsome than the male stars in the TV dramas I watch."

"He's dressed like that, could he be going to Hong Kong to film a movie?"

"Hey, Bai Ling," a girl nudged Bai Ling's arm, "Aren't you close to Xu Yan? Do you know that?"

“It’s not for filming a movie,” Bai Ling said, taking a bite of her food. “Xu Yan mentioned it briefly; he went to Hong Kong to do business and only recently came back.”

"Starting a business? If you ask me, it's better to wait until you graduate next year and get a job. Starting a business is too risky."

"..."

"On a side note, don't you guys think Xu Yan and Xie Zhuo are a really good match?"
