Chapter 35 Misfortune Always Targets the Unlucky

In the end, Jiang Jingxue had no choice but to nod in agreement.

"Alright then, you can stay and help me!"

"Oh! Oh! That's great! Sister Jiang has agreed to let us stay!"

The children cheered excitedly.

Jiang Jingxue felt both warm and guilty.

What's heartwarming is that she only helped these children with an injection once, and they risked their lives to help her.

She felt guilty because the children's illnesses hadn't fully healed, and she hadn't been able to give them a second treatment.

"Sister Jiang, what can we do to help you?"

A slightly older child asked.

"Could you all stay here and watch the medicine on the fire for me?"

"Boil each dose of medicine for thirty minutes. After it's ready, distribute it to the patient lying there. Be careful not to burn yourself, understand?"

"I understand!"

"Don't worry, Sister Jiang, we guarantee we'll complete the mission!"

The children patted their little chests one by one, making their promises with great confidence.

"Alright, I'll leave this place to you. I still need to go and administer acupuncture to the critically ill patients. If you need anything, just have Grandpa Niu call me!"

"Oh, right, and this too!"

Before leaving, Jiang Jingxue took out a stack of masks and personally put them on each child.

"Wear this; it will prevent you from getting infected."

"Once I'm done with this, I'll give you a few more acupuncture treatments, and then you'll be completely cured!"

After settling the children in, Jiang Jingxue immediately went to administer acupuncture to patients with more severe symptoms.

Dr. Niu spontaneously followed behind her.

“Madam, you’re working too hard all by yourself. Let me help you.”

Jiang Jingxue nodded.

"Alright, you can learn from the side. You'll get it after watching a few times. Then you can help me give them acupuncture later!"

"This... I can learn it?" Doctor Niu asked in surprise.

Isn't this life-saving acupuncture technique supposed to be kept secret?

The lady actually told him to learn something?

Jiang Jingxue was also surprised, "Of course, didn't we say we were here to help? With so many patients, how could I possibly administer injections?"

"Sigh! Sigh, I'll study hard!"

Doctor Niu didn't argue anymore and agreed repeatedly.

With Dr. Niu's help, Jiang Jingxue was able to administer acupuncture much faster.

She would explain everything to Dr. Niu while she was getting the needles inserted, without holding back any information: "...When inserting the needle into Zusanli, you need to be quick, just insert it one centimeter...Dihe is on the face, at most half a centimeter, and you have to insert the needle slowly..."

Dr. Niu felt both admiration and gratitude towards Jiang Jingxue from the bottom of his heart.

I admire Jiang Jingxue for having such superb medical skills at such a young age.

I am grateful that she was willing to share her knowledge unconditionally, regardless of the cost.

After spending a day with Jiang Jingxue, Dr. Niu felt he had learned more than he had in the previous twenty years.

Before long, he was able to give patients acupuncture on his own.

“Madam, you must be tired after a long day. Please rest for a while. I will take care of the rest of the patients.”

Jiang Jingxue glanced at the remaining patients and, seeing that their symptoms were mild, nodded.

"Okay, then thank you for your hard work."

Firstly, she was indeed tired and needed to rest.

Secondly, it allows Dr. Niu to practice his skills more.

Jiang Jingxue sat down on the stool next to her, holding a bowl of steaming porridge in her hands.

As she ate her porridge, she looked with satisfaction at the children busily distributing medicine to patients not far away.

These little guys are really doing a great job, carrying out the tasks she assigned them in an orderly manner.

One of the little girls was thin and small, only three or four years old, and much shorter than the other children.

But she was the most diligent, carrying the medicine bowl and running back and forth.

She was wearing loose, ill-fitting clothes and a pair of dirty cloth shoes with her toes showing.

When she was delivering medicine to a patient again, she slipped and fell heavily to the ground.

As she fell, she held the medicine bowl high, afraid that the medicine inside would spill out.

She fell hard while trying to protect the bowl of medicine, which made Jiang Jingxue's heart ache.

She was about to go over and help the little girl.

The voice of Doctor Niu could be heard not far away.

"Madam, this patient's condition is not good. Please come and take a look."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Jingxue quickly walked towards the patient.

On the way, she glanced back in the direction of the little girl.

Then I saw her get up from the ground, neither crying nor making a fuss, and continue to deliver the medicine with a limp.

After Jiang Jingxue stabilized the patient's condition, the children had finished distributing all the medicine.

Jiang Jingxue then gathered the little ones together and gave them acupuncture treatments one by one.

When it was the little girl's turn, Jiang Jingxue noticed large, shocking abrasions on her arms and legs.

"Little girl, what's your name?"

Jiang Jingxue asked gently.

"Panpan".

The little girl answered timidly.

"Let me treat your injuries. It might hurt a little, so please bear with it."

Fearing infection of her wound, Jiang Jingxue needed to disinfect it first before bandaging it.

We've run out of the iodine solution we brought, so we can only use alcohol for disinfection.

Alcohol is very painful when it's applied to a wound; even adults might not be able to withstand it. Jiang Jingxue was worried that the little girl wouldn't be able to handle it.

The little girl bravely nodded.

"I'm not afraid of pain."

"I'll be gentle."

Jiang Jingxue gently used a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to disinfect the area.

The little girl kept her eyes tightly closed, her eyelashes trembling slightly.

You could tell she was terrified and in pain.
